Jason is awesome. He diagnosed the A/C unit quickly and explained what needed to be done. He was able to recharge my A/C unit and get cold air blowing for my upstairs unit. He is friendly and honest, not like those contractors that try to rip people off. I will definitely ask for Jason anytime I need his services and will refer him to my neighbors and friends. One of the church's heat pump died and we took SoCo's recommendation to replace it with an A/C unit because we already have a furnace. Each of the workers as knowledgeable and very good at communicating what was going on every step of the way. They identified themselves right away, and respected our masking policy. Great attitude! They were quick and thorough and we are very pleased.

I have used Southern Comfort for about 10 years now and have never had anything but positive experiences! I use them at both my restaurant and home. Owning a business I cannot go without heat or air and they have always come when needed. Their employees are AMAZING, professional, knowledgeable and courteous. The technician was running late, however the communication between Southern Comfort Heating and Air and myself was excellent. Ray arrived within the modified time frame, with an advance text message. We discussed the service I needed performed and he went right to work. He was neat, organized and professional and friendly. I appreciated his service and that of Southern Comfort Heating & Air. Southern Comfort has been great! We've used them twice now after going away from another company that had a bit of a sketchy pricing model and structure. Jason came today plus the other technician we had out a few months ago. Both have both been great! They are not looking to nickel and dime you, just do good honest work and fix what needs fixing. Very glad to have made the switch to them and I highly recommend them.

My wife called Southern Comfort Heating & Cooling a day after we received 6 inches of snow in Lexington. She spoke to Matt who was extremely helpful and promised a technician would be there that day. We were given an appointment time and they showed up on time. We ended up having to get a new furnace installed. I was relieved to hear the final out the door price we were given by our technician. They came in lower than I expected and provided us with a level of service much higher than we received in the past from some of the larger companies in town.

We noticed our upstairs heat wasn't working around 6pm and even through 9 inches of snow we had someone here by 10am that morning. Our heat had been on the fritz for some time expelling nauseous fumes. Called Southern Comfort due to good google reviews and we were not disappointed. It is unprofessional installation with many detail problems. The repair cost is outrageously high. Make sure first comparing with other companies before doing business with this one. I have 2 services from this company and regret deeply. First service is for a split unit installation done a few month ago. That had many detail problems. the insulation did not complete at the unit and tubes outside house not set straight and not look good.
I have the company back for the insulation problem but they still not do a good job. Second service is a few days ago for leaking problem for my other AC system which installed 3 years ago by other company. For initial diagnostic charge. Southern Comfort try to charge me for the amount more than 5 times one other company did. Please be very very careful before you sign anything with it unless you don't care about your money.

Excellent service, responsive, on time, fair prices and stand by their work. They had to come back out on a call because of a faulty part and they replaced it and no charge for the 2nd service which took much longer than the first one as they triple checked everything. We had Southern Comfort Heating and Cool replace our old coil and compressor (AC unit). Robert and Jamal were fantastic- showed up on time, worked hard, were friendly and cleaned up after themselves. They left the area around our HVAC/AC untouched. Would highly recommend. Matt in the main office was also extremely friendly and made the process of getting a quote and scheduling an install fast and easy. Great communication.

We ended up having a couple problems with our unit. The first problem was fixed initially, but the unit was still not working properly. They quickly came back out the following day and diagnosed and fixed the other issue for us and our unit worked properly after. The technician was very pleasant both times he came out, and the fix was very reasonable price-wise.

Southern Comfort installed a new HVAC system on my 2nd floor but some electronics in a fan failed about a month later. They came to my home within 2 hours of my call on a Sunday and identified the problem. The next morning they installed a temporary part to keep our AC running until the replacement part could be obtained. Everything was backed up due to covid so it took a little while to get.
After the new part arrived and they promptly replaced the bad part and had the system back operating as new in a couple of hours. It was somewhat frustrating to have this happen with a new system but we know electronics can fail at anytime. Southern Comfort responded immediately to my call on Sunday and came back with a temporary fix the following morning until they could get the replacement part.
We were only without AC overnight. Everything was repaired as original under warranty at no cost to us and as promptly as possible. They have been exceptionally responsive, clean when in my home and done a good job when I have had work done. I recommend them for your HVAC needs

My sister is 72 not in good health and her about 50 year old furnace went out about a week ago she was going to the store on Saturday and seen Southern Comfort office on Leestown rd and stop to ask them about it but they where closed so she wrote a note on a napkin and put it in their mailbox explaining her situation and that she didnt have much money but she could make payments and on monday at 7 am she received a call and was told someone would be out in a couple hours a very polite young man came out to look at it she thought he was too young to know how to fix it but after he looked at it he told her he had to go on a parts run and when he came back he replaced the thermocouple and the filter and now it works great then the Tec went to his van to write up her bill and she was thinking God i wonder how much this is gonna cost me he came back to the door and told her his boss said there was no charge and to have a Merry Christmas. I would like to say thank you to all of SOUTHERN COMFORT HEATING &COOLING for caring about other people they are # 1 in my book thanks again

First impressions mean everything. Especially in a time and place where there are multiple options. Southern Comfort Heating and Air advertises they are open 24 hours a day. I called at 8:30 am on a Thursday and never got an answer. The phone continuously rang just shy of two minutes, no answer and no machine. A minute later I get a call from a snarky lady saying "Did I miss a call from you?" Since I have caller ID, I saw that it was Southern Comfort Heating and Air on the other end of the phone.
I told her I was calling to see if someone could come out and take a look at my unit. She said "Hold on a minute." Then she proceeded to talk to somebody who must have been standing near her, she came back to the phone and informed me "We don't have anything until Sunday. Is that okay?" Mind you I cannot get the tone she used to come through on this review.
I said okay then there was a brief pause them she mumbled something which I didn't quite catch as she hung up the phone. Are you serious right now? If this is who normally answers the phone for this company first thing in the morning I do not see how they are still in business. Not only have you lost out on my future business but I will make sure to inform everyone that I know to never bother calling for your service.
I had to make a call to a different company in the winter to have them check on the furnace, I was never once met with such hostility and rudeness as I was when I just made a call to this company here.

This is by far the best HVAC company we have used! Matt(owner) and Aaron are knowledgeable and helpful with all your heating and cooling needs. The staff is always friendly and very quick to respond. We have had problems with an upstairs unit failing to cool and they were able to come up with a solution that is better than any we have tried. We have found their pricing to be very honest and fair. Great service from scheduling the call, through paying for the work. My system had not been able to keep up with the heat, which was a departure from last summer. We have one large unit servicing 3200 sq.ft. of a two story house. When I made the service call, it was after lunch, and I received an apology because they couldn't make it out that same day.
With the heat wave, I didn't expect to be scheduled the next day. The service tech, Clarence, called first thing the next morning, and arrived about 10 minutes afterward. After inspection, I was advised of my options. The system was low on refrigerant, and I opted to have that, and a leak seal kit added. The system took 4.5 lbs. of new refrigerant.
As that was completed, he inspected the inside evaporator, and all 7 air returns. Although the evaporator was clean, and the unit well sealed in the attic, he found my air filters to be too dirty. I regularly date and change my filters, but he found each one was a month past the change date, and filthy. Clarence was very professional, knowledgable, and efficient with his work.
He wore little booties on his shoes to protect the hardwoods without being asked. The experience was one of "service". Highly sought, but often lacking with many contractors. Not only will they be servicing our 3 year old home from now on, I recommend Southern Comfort to anyone wanting to find their HVAC problem, and get it corrected without any anxiety or stress.

Great company. Tried more than 5 others in Lexington but this company is the best in service and pricing. My evaporator coil needed to be replaced. Matt came out the same day and offered a more competitive price than his competitors. The coil was replaced sooner than most other companies were able to just offer a service appointment. Called these guys out for a recharge on refrigerant. Let me explain how a one hour, couple hundred dollar job turns into a weeks long, thousand dollar plus repair job and, more importantly, a true test of the character of a company and its owner. Long story short, a crew was working in my attic and, at some point unbeknownst to one or both of them, knocked my drain line loose.
By the next morning I noticed major water damage in my ceiling where the line was leaking. I'm not saying that they meant to flood the ceiling. I'm not saying that they should have even known they did. I make mistakes at work. You, the reader, make mistakes at work. Southern Comfort employees make mistakes at work. We don't mean to make them.
But they happen. But what I do and what most of you readers do is that we own those mistakes and we fix them, making the situation as good or better than as we found it. That's how good business is done. This is where Southern Comfort fails miserably. The owner simply wouldn't own the mistake. I just asked that they repair the ceiling that was damaged by their mistake.
Just like me and any of you all would have done if in that situation. Did they? No way. Not even an apology. The owner, Matt, told me that his workers were blameless. Look, as I said above, I'm not saying they meant to do it. But I am saying that it wasn't leaking, they went up there, and then it was. So there you go. Matt also told me that the drainage line must have been installed improperly. Heck, maybe it was.
Maybe it wasn't. I wouldn't know. What I do know Is that it had been working fine for over ten years prior to them working on it. Then, after they worked on it, it flooded my ceiling. I've had great people do work for me. Roofers have damaged my satellite dish on a job. What did they do? Did they say it was installed improperly? No, they fixed it. I've had mechanics working on my vehicles and they've messed up big time.
And they fixed it. I still do business with these companies. Not because they are perfect, but because they are honest people who do the right thing. I trust them. I'm not doing business with Southern Comfort again. Edit to company response: Nothing I've listed here is false. These are the events as they happened. Regarding the phone call, you said call next week, but that you felt you were not responsible and did not feel that you needed to repair the damage caused. So, you've already told me you don't think you should have to. I'm not going to call you and ask you to do the right thing again. Great companies just do it.

All I can say is WOW! Our AC went down and Southern Comfort Heating and Cooling came to the rescue. They didn't try to sell me, they asked what our HVAC needs were and found a solution that fit my families budget. Matt is one of the best in the business without a doubt. We needed a new heat pump for our home and he came out for a full free inspection and consultation. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything in very easy to understand terms. This is our first home and the first time we've ever had to deal with HVAC issues and he was very easy to get a long with.
A lot of contractors just spit arbitrary numbers at you but he goes through the whole process and plan with you so there aren't any surprises. He does incredible work and has a great labor warranty with everything they do.
