They quoted me a part for my furnace at $700 and a new furnace 80% efficiency at $2800. After the technician left we called a family member that does heating/air out of town. He was shocked at both of these prices.

I called for a cleaning and he came out and said he couldn't do it because I didn't have a water hose and that if he took it to a car wash it would cost me 100's of dollars. I should have been told that when I made the appointment.

The technician came out, look at the problem and complained how big of a job it would be. Said the A/C could be fixed but would be very expensive. Asked about a new unit - he said that might be an option but would have to get costs back at the office.
