Allen's Plumbing began as a one-man shop in 1977 out of Allen and his late wife's home. Business quickly improved, forcing Allen to hire another plumber to help him. Each year the business kept growing and Allen continued to add plumbers and trucks to a rapidly growing fleet. In 1987,A llenpurchased property at 4219 54th Avenue North in St. Petersburg and built a four thousand square foot building to serve as his office, store, and warehouse.
At this time Allen's Plumbing had four service trucks and plumbers.

Ran into an issue where our tub faucet pipe was broken. I was thinking it was going to be at least a $500+ fix. Guy showed up and removed the pipe and replaced it, AND swapped out some washers in the hot/cold handles in the other bathroom as well. Ended up being much cheaper than I expected and now I went from 1/2 a functioning tub and shower to 2 functioning shower tubs.

Our house is on top of a shared underground utility line, and there was a condo board for the unit behind our building here on st pete beach. It was a complicated situation but they were able to fix and redig the new line and fix it very quickly. Services: Pipe repair, Drain unblocking, Sewer repair

We experienced a pipe bust this last week. Allens Plumbing is the best plumber I've every dealt with for my St. Pete rental properties. Always on time and the work is impeccable. Fixed the pipe and repaired the leak in no time. I always expect to pay high numbers for a plumber nut with Allens, I pay what I normally would but get the proper repairs done in a timely manner and I don't have to sacrifice quality or time. I highly recommend them

Allen's Plumbing has done a few jobs for us over the last few years, and we are so pleased with their quality of work and customer service. We called them when we had major issues with a clogged pipe (everything was backed up). They sent a plumber to our house that morning. They jumped right on it with the snake and tried to locate the problem and he explained the process so I could understand it. After about 30 minutes, our pipes were cleaned and we could finally use the toilet and shower again. Thank you so much!

I had a brand new faucet installed and a change of the pipe under sink. I am so angry! The time for the installation was 2 3/4 hours, which was ridiculous. My bill came to $541.98 and I find that absolute thievery. I would NEVER use this greedy company again Even a fuel charge of $20.00 after a service charge to come out of $75.00. Disgusting!

I had a small hole in a copper hot water line located under the floor. I called and they immediately came out, very nice and helpful on the phone. They were very prompt and quick in getting here even though it was after hours. I already had the leak located, toilet off and accessible. The plumber did have to chip away some more concrete, it is a tight space.
I was able to repair pipes in that same area a few moths ago, the plumber informed me that they would have to jack hammer a large area of the floor to repair the pipe correctly. Obviously I did not want this on overtime pay, nor did I agree. He then proceeded to temporarily fix the tiny leak with rubber and a clamp. It still leaked slightly. So, I just paid $300 for a.50 cent part and still not fixed. Absolutely insane! A piece of rubber and a clamp for $300! Rip off!

Had Allen's plumbing replace the guts in two of my toilets. Took 1 hr and 5 minutes and they charged me 1 hr 15 mins. I was told by the plumber this is what his boss told them to do. Round up to the next 15 minutes. If it's only 5 mins over then they should have charged me an hour. To nickel and dime a repeat customer is wrong. Will never use their services again!

I used this company in July 2018. I had a very similar experience as another review posted here by Carla S. They were totally unprofessional and unethical. I regret using them and should have looked at the reviews before calling them. They left me hanging for weeks over the 4th of July then sent out their supervisor after no communication. They left the job unfinished and the bill is over 2K. BEWARE

If you want to pay $600 to have the same issue come up again a month later because they half did the job Allen's is the place for you! They did an emergency call and didn't do a thorough job of investigating the issue and then their technician literally got in my 75 year old mother's face and was very rude and unprofessional! Go with someone else or consider yourself warned.

I'd leave no stars if I could. Worst customer service from the owner in my life. Called them to come out, after recommendations from my HOA. Should have checked the reviews first, I certainly would have "NOT" called Allen's Plumbing. My story begins with a clogged up toilet, which was occasionally working and then sometimes it would not.
On a call to Allen's plumbing I was told that a technician would go out and investigate and that they would call me with the results. I was further told if they found nothing that they would check with the HOA to see if others in building were having problems as well. I said I understand the process and would be waiting to hear from them. About two weeks later a get a bill for $146.00 for snaking the toilet, flushing it several times, and reportedly there was nothing found.
I was not there when all of this was done, the tenant told me that the tech stayed about 20 minutes and they did not remove the toilet to check for obstructions as well. I would have expected that for almost $150.00 the toilet would have been removed, then snaked the line etc. I went by to talk to the owner (Allen) about this and that I would be willing to pay a service charge but paying for the snaking of the toilet I would not.
I feel the snaking was not effective, because a few days after they performed this service the toilet stopped up again. Which at this time, I got in my car and drove from Tennessee to St Petersburg to fix this issue. Went to Home Depo, rented a snake and got a new wax seal. Removed the toilet, inspected the toilet, snaked the line, put everything back and have not had a problem since. So, I just wanted an answer and to discuss this bill with Allen.
Well Mr Allen totally ignored me by staying outside blowing his parking lot off and chatting with his employees while I waited. He knew I was there and even told me he was coming inside. Well after waiting for 20 minutes total, I left. I guess that was his plan to ignore me and it worked. It worked so well, thanks. This was and has been the worst customer service from a company owner I have ever had.
I have spent over 20 years in the military, having dealt with hundreds of companies and business owners and all of these dealings have not been great, but people are always respectful and willing to listen, talk, and work to resolve a customer issue. I am going to make it point to inform my HOA, the BBB, and all of social media about this company and their business practices and the way I was disrespected. If he was not going to cut anything off the bill, just be a man and come and talk to me about it. Such a cowardly act! "NOT RECOMMENDED"

Had a middle of the night emergency and called. They sent a technician who was capable and worked hard and fixed the broken pipe. They came back a day later to fix related problems and did not charge a second call fee. They fixed that quickly and only charged for the short time it took. Fair, talented and available that's as good as I could wish. Would use them again.

We had Allen's come out for an 2nd opinion estimate. We were quoted about $2000 for replacing pipes with roots and jetting the entire house by another company. When Allen's came out, he listened to the issues, checked the drain outside, and looked at the affected sink and shower. He felt that the solutions the prior company suggested were not necessary.
He did not try to sell us anything and we were very happy that he felt that our plumbing was not in dire straits. He suggested how to clean the pipes ourselves as general maintenance. For a company to come out and not try to sell SOMETHING says a lot in this day and age. In the meantime, we will be emailed an estimate for the optional work and more extensive diagnosing, if necessary.

I recently used Allens Plumbing for a kitchen renovation which included a tankless water heater and water softener. I also switched my electric appliances to gas. Their office was very professional always calling to notify me when they were in route. Our invoice was agreed upon in advance and there were no hidden surprises. Jamin explained everything in detail and I found him very courteous. He takes great pride in his work and it shows. I would highly recommend Allens Plumbing!

Inspector Y. you lucked out because I refused to pay and good people of Allens Plumbing put a lien on my home for $400! It's amazing that the State of Florida allows a shyster contractor to file a lien on a consumer without showing one shread of evidence that the job was ever done. While I was in the courthouse paying to get my house back, I checked Public Records and found 22 other people Allens Plumbing put liens on in the previous 5 years.
I was told originally there was no Allen and then a month later I'm getting a certified letter from him. These a'holes went as far as challenging my review making up some story about work they never did and how confused I was. They even lied that they came on a Saturday to justify the inflated labor costs. I have pictures of what they didn't do in a small half bathroom where the pipe they were so worried about tieing into was in open view the entire 2.5 hours that the crack head tech sat on the floor. Why he didn't look at that as soon as he got there like any honest person would is beyond me. Please people don't use these ripoff artists disguised as plumbers.

Needed 30 gallon water heater maintenance b/c I had it turned off for a few months. Basically, to turn the right switches on and make sure it'll be in good working condition, and stays that way. I know jack about water heater. I was afraid that I might unknowingly do something wrong and end up with a flood in my home. Total bill was $243.50 $56 - "service call" $156 - 90 minutes of labor or $104/hr $31.50 - heating element which I don't know if it needs to be replaced. It was just replaced. I don't know if the prices are reasonable or not so I list them hear. Maybe someone can tell me. Plumber showed up on time.
