Howell's Heating & Air

I've been with Howell's for over 15 years - they are the best! I've had service calls on both my heating and AC. They replaced my furnace quickly and it a reasonable price and have serviced my AC numerous times (the unit was installed in 1991). There is never any pressure for a new unit and every technician that has come out is friendly, professional and communicative.

Howell's heating and air came to our rescue super fast and fixed the issue! Other companies I had called could not get to us for 2 weeks. Super pleased with the service recieved from Matt! After talking with me in depth about my new thermostat, he performed the six month maintenance check, and discussed with me what he had done. He is absolutely wonderful and so knowledgeable. John does a great job at whatever he's assigned to do - you will be amazed and will feel comfortable you have received the very best service. We had a technician, or 2, at our home 3 times. And 3 times they told us it was a different problem. One of those times we discussed filters, I purchased new, but the tech couldn't be bothered to install when they here twice more. We signed up for the "value club" and have experienced no sense of value. On the third time the tech did repair a relay I believe, and I don't want the less than great review to fully reflect on the individual, it is more of the company he represents.

We wanted to be satisfied, I love giving 5 star reviews, but these three service calls do not warrant positive feedback in terms of value or feedback. When our "value" club term ends we will be working with another company in the future.

Matt was in time, checked our 22 year old Carrier unit thoroughly.. He was able to answer my questions & explain, besides "eta" on our furnace. He was friendly & kind approach which I greatly appreciate. Thanks again! I felt he was honest. He said he'd try to get a referral for reputable roofing company who doesn't charge for inspection & sheetrock/drywall one too. I emailed to schedule & had to reschedule twice. Lacy responded in timely fashion.

Although he was relatively new, Spencer did a great job servicing our two units. He was very polite, careful, and thorough.and left us with a couple of recommendations, two tuned and cleaned units, and a satisfying experience.

Howell's has been maintaining our HVAC for at least 5 years, and in 2020, replaced our very old system. They represented their products honestly, helped us to make a very good choice, provided a fair price, and they continue to provide maintenance service. We are very pleased with our system. The service staff today was on-time, pleasant, and thorough. We find Howell's to be very reliable.

Tony is my service guy. He always comes on time when he says he will. Courteous, professional, and takes the time to explain everything I need to know about my system. He went above and beyond to help me with testing a gas fireplace and told me how to maintain it. He didn't have to go above and beyond, he just does. I have used Howell's since 1984. I would never even think of using anyone else. They are ALWAYS on time, courteous, efficient and thorough. They go the extra mile to help solve a problem and I never have felt that I was paying too much.

Today was our semi annual service. We had Mark V as our technician. He came inside masked and with shoe covers without even asking. Service was efficient and he was very kind with the feedback about the service. We have utilized Howell's for over 10 years for service and repairs at our prior and current home.

Mark showed up on time as expected and did an amazing job. Diagnosed and fixed the issue in a timely manner. Mark answered all my questions and took care of anything to make our ac unit perform efficiently. He also cleaned up after himself and made sure everything looked tidy. I highly recommend Howell's and personally ask for Mark! He's the best and you will not regret your choice! A+++

The diagnosis is quite high at $140 but the experience was very professional, responsive, and the tech was pleasant and knowledgeable. He was also empathetic to the diagnosis given it was not going to be a quick fix.

They could not have been more responsive! I called on an extremely hot Friday evening at 4:50 pm because my home temp would not cool below 80. Technician was out in less than an hour & performed a full evaluation. I was not surprised to learn I needed to replace the unit as it was over 20 years old. Howell's provided us with a portable unit and brought it out that evening Since it would be the following week before a new unit could be ordered and installed.

I have used Howells in three different homes and I've always been pleased with their service. They go above and beyond to accommodate. I recommend having a maintenance contract to prolong the life of the equipment and save money along the way with unexpected emergencies such as this one.

USE SOMEONE ELSE! Had a contract for bi-annual cleaning and maintenance FOR YEARS. THEY ARE NOT UP TO INDUSTRY STANDARDS! Reputable contractor was HORRIFIED by condition of my system! HORRIBLE! ****Look under Doug and Jeanine Wisor. We are definitely in your system. OUR contractor took several photos in disbelief and was dumbfounded Howells collected $payment for "service" all the while never informing us the condition of the system that was in place.

Zack was amazing! Got us is ASAP when we had no air in 85* days! He was kind, not salesman like, or scary like some-- just a good guy doing a great job; and now our family is "cool" again! Thanks Zack!

This was our first time to use Howell's Heating and Air for our heat pump maintenance. We had two HVAC units go out at the same time, but for different reasons. I looked for a highly-rated service company in the area and found Howell's. Tony was the service technician who was sent to us, and he arrived a few minutes early for a 7am appointment, and had our first unit working a just a few minutes (bad capacitor). Then, he focused on the second unit and after extensive analysis, indications pointed to the compressor; however, Tony wasn't ready to give up. Instead, he spent a few more minutes digging into the unit and found that the plug connected to the compressor had become damaged over time.

He replaced the required parts and saved us a bunch of money, but he also gained an extremely loyal customer - one who will tell anyone who is looking for a stellar HVAC service provider to look no further than Howell's.

No cooling on Sunday 08/12/18. Called emergency and the on call tech was having many calls so he said will email to the service dept. Got a call from service on Monday 08,13 at 7 17 and tech came out at 10 and found out the evaporator coil got leak. Got an email with a quote in the afternoon. Quote approved. Wait for part. Got a call on Tuesday part was in but no time for tech to come out so tech came out at 7 on wed and finished up by 1030. Techs cl Kenney and jack? did a very good job.

The service Howell's provided was top notch. The repair man never failed to use the covers for his shoes, He was respectful and very nice. He made sure that I understood everything he had done and was quick to make recommendations without sounding like a "pushy" sales person. Needless to say I wouldn't think twice on who to call in the future. Great job Howell's!!

Howell's Heating & Air is the only HVAC service company that we use or recommend. You will not be disappointed in the quality of their products or services. Have recommended them to our friends and our church and they switched and are so happy.

I have used Howell's for over 25 years for HVAC servicing and replacement of system.

Chris and Cardell came over to take a second look at the install and corrected every concern I had in my previous reviews. These guys were super friendly and seemed knowledgeable. The system now looks good and I trust, as much as possible, that it is now installed correctly. IMHO, I probably would have rated Howell's 4 stars if these guys had installed the system the first time and I didn't have to deal with the stress of a new HVAC breaking down and seemingly poor workmanship. Maybe my install experience was a rare occurrence, but maybe not! YMMV.

I have used Howell's Heating and Air for about nine years now and I have found them to be friendly, honest and always there when I need them. I trust them and when it came time to buy a new unit for my house they were great.

Howell's has always been dependable for us and we have been customers for many years. We were recently left with no heat and no hot water due to a faulty part. Since the part has to be shipped Howell's provided space heaters for the interim and installed the new part as soon as it came in. Everything is working well now!

Return call from office at 7:15am. Technician at 8:30am. Toasty warm by 10:00am. Kind & professional employees. There is no room on our go-to list for anyone but Howell's. And, yes, we have tried many others in Richmond.

Chris came out today and replaced the fan motor in our heat pump. Good guy, didn't waste time and thermostat now shows 69 degrees and falling. Bravo!

I can't believe it. Got home from a long week on the road to find the furnace not working. One phone call and at 8 o'clock on a Friday night a tech is here and had the parts on his truck to fix it. Thanks Howells.
