We have lived and live in an old house and condo. Over the years Gundlach has done a lot of work for us: HVAC maintenance and repair, cleanout installation, drain unclogs, faucet replacement and repairs, pipe leak repairs, hot water heater installation, toilet flange replacement, water shutoff valve replacement. Every experience has been positive.

Every rep we interacted with, either on location or on the phone, has been friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all our questions. And, perhaps most important, every plumbing-crisis-moment, Gundlach dispatched someone to the house in a reasonable amount of time, if not right away. A good company with good people.

Junior and Sean were fantastic. Fast, efficient, nice guys to be around. I had them out to move the main HVAC trunk link in our home to a new location. They knocked it out in about a half a day, and left everything as clean as when they found it. Price was right, their scheduling department was fast, and as far as I can tell, everything seems to be working great. Definitely recommend.

I've been using Gunlach for years for all our heating, cooling and plumbing needs. Staff are always friendly, professional and knowledgeable especially the Technician Junior who worked on my 2 systems today. He was able to assess them, diagnosis where repair was needed, explain to me so I could understand and complete the repair quickly. Top notch service! Highly recommend!

I was in dire need as my wife was one week home from 5 weeks of hospitalization. She is still bed ridden and I was caring for her around the clock and trying yo work but was I Exhausted I woke on a Saturday morning to find water flowing across my basement floor. One of the two hot water heathers we have blew it's tank. The way the feed water was run I needed the pipes cut and rerun a bit to isolate the leaking water heater to get my hot water back online I started calling around and after 4 companies telling me they can't come for at least 3 days I remembered Gundlock having done great work before for us I called left a message, supervisor calling with ten minute and hearing my need said he would have someone there in 60 to 90 minute.

The service person arrived in 45 minute figured out the need and had the job done in 30 minutes and even gave me a discount They were truly a lifesaver for me and saved the number in my phone so I never call anyone else in the future

Called about plumbing ER. Initially they came within a few hours. They were unable to complete work so promised to return first thing the next morning but didn't arrive until afternoon. Again they were unable to complete work they weren't aware of property lines and stopped work at fence. We discovered the property line info and contacted them to advise it was Saturday & they said they couldn't help until Monday.

They wouldn't allow us to speak to anyone else & never called back or returned calls to manager. Staff they sent to do the work were polite & professional most issues seem to be with office management & communication. No excuse after we paid considerable amount for the 2 visits for them to abandon the job & leave us in a bind! Beware! Consider calling a Rooter company if they can't fix the first time!

I highly recommend, all the technicians are knowledgeable and professional. I hired them on several occasions to replace cast iron pipes and plumbing, sump pump, water heater and service my gas boiler furnace in my 1939 home. Customer service and satisfaction is their priority and the pricing is very fair. I will definitely call them again.

Expensive but they got the job done the same day we reached out. 550 for the water heater and the total was 1400. It took 2 hours roughly to install. I asked for a breakdown of the invoice and the response was that it is a flat rate.

Our service was to reattach stainless steel kitchen sink that had fallen away from the granite countertop. Using old brackets was not an option. Corey, our serviceman, researched and found the perfect under-sink repair kit that attached sink supports to the side of the cabinet underneath. Kudos to Corey! The only problem was shipping delay and limited communication due to holidays and inclement weather.

We called Gundlach for a heating problem and were thrilled with the prompt and courteous service. Our technician, Junior, arrived within 45 minutes of our phone call and quickly resolved the issue. Gundlach is our go-to for heating, cooling, plumbing etc. Service: Heating system repair

Great experience! Ran into an issue after beginning a faucet repair in our older home. Called Gundlach and they were able to fit us in on standby the same day. Al came and quickly assessed the issue and was able to source the correct replacement part very quickly. He replaced the part and checked for leaks and then we were good to go, all within a few hours of the initial call. Al was very clear and knowledgeable and was helpful in explaining the issue. Will definitely call Gundlach with future plumbing needs!

My elderly in-laws had a heat pump go out this past weekend. We called around to attempt to get their AC back on during this recent hot spell in Richmond VA. Gundlach sent out a tech on a Sunday. Stated it would after hours service call. No quote as to how much after hours would be. Luckily I was available to meet with Willy their service tech prior to any work being agreed to. Willy diagnosed a bad capacitor, which is a common problems and a relatively inexpensive fix.

Normal rates and parts would be around $150. We have had it done to our own heat pumps in the past year. Gunlach chose to take advantage of the situation with my elderly in-laws and attempt to quote me $625 for a service call and fix. They refused to offer a more reasonable rate. I quickly dismissed Willy from the property and went and bought an window unit as a temporary fix.

Found a reputable HVAC tech who installed it properly the next day. For the window AC unit and the new tech was cheaper than Gundlach for after hours service call quote. Definitely get a second opinion with Gundlach. They will attempt to take advantage of situation with unethical pricing. Never calling them again!

Sometimes you are lucky enough to find a company that exceeds your expectations in both service delivery and professionalism. Well, we found that with Gundlach when an old heat pump finally bit the dust. From the analysis of the problem to the counseling on our options, we always felt that we were in good hands and getting sound advise. Further, after committing to a replacement, the installation process could not have gone smoother.

A special thanks to Jose and Matt for their wonderful work, great communication on the process, and going out of their way to make sure we were satisfied with the end product. Jose and Matt are true professionals and hope to work with them in the future.but, not too soon! Ha Ha!

We lost our AC on a Thursday night but didn't notice until Friday night the weekend of Memorial day. I waited until Tuesday to call but they were right out! Found that the fan motor had gone bad causing my system to freeze. They offered a repair or replacement and were fully transparent about the pros and cons of both options. They promptly had the whole system changed out.

They even ran into some issues from the previous installation that required a lengthy visit. They promised they would have us in a cool home by nightfall and they held true. They were courteous and confident, polite and honest! They were transparent throughout the whole process! We are very appreciative!

Experienced a weekend plumbing emergency involving a damaged shower faucet that ultimately needed replacing. Two guys came out within a matter of hours on a Saturday afternoon and diagnosed the problem and offered an estimate immediately. It was late, so they offered to plug the shower, so we could turn water back on to the house, and return on Monday to fix the issue.

At 8am on Monday morning I was able to speak with Joe to schedule a 2:30pm appointment for service. Cory arrived on time and ready to work. He was polite and professional. He got right to work and found a solution that caused the least amount of damage. not taking out a wall to access the pipes. Instead, he went "old school" fixing the issue with a great soldering job, resulting in lower cost and repair time. He was very courteous and respectful. I am very satisfied with Gundlach and will definitely call on them again next time I have an issue. My appreciation to the entire team!

A Technician was sent very quickly. It was explained beforehand a charge of $89. for the estimate would apply to the repair. The Technician was very unprofessional. Several times referring to my collectables making my wife and I very uncomfortable. Also not wearing his mask properly at the height of the pandemic. He told us the Furnace would be too costly to repair but still would not give an estimate.

Instead he made an appointment for the next day with a salesman. The Salesman from Gundlach was very professional but seemed to be going only on the word of the technician. Two days later I received an estimate of over $17000. (Seventeen Thousand dollars) for a new furnace. or $14000.+ cash price. I asked again for the repair estimate that I already paid for and days later received a detailed bill but still no repair estimate!

I then called another company who came out and repaired the furnace for just over $700. As it turned out, the furnace itself was perfectly fine a valve that controlled zone heating needed to be replaced. I spoke to a manager at Gundlach to tell him his Technician is either dishonest or incompetent and I deserve a refund of the $89. He told me I was wrong, he had to stand by his man but I will gat a refund. To this day over a month later, no refund but the furnace is working fine. I do not recommend this company.

We first met Jose when he installed our new AC unit last summer. We were so pleased with the work of the technicians, and the wonderful support of the scheduler, that we decided to call Gundlach again when we needed to replace our HVAC system. Jose and David make a great team! They arrived on time each day, worked their hearts out, and made sure to clean and remove any trash from the job site before heading out for the day. They were very friendly, explaining each step in the process, and did a fantastic job! My husband and I are very pleased, and highly recommend Gundlach!

Nice people, but $525 for a non emergency call to fix a shower clog and running toilet is too expensive. I need to shop around the next time.

I thought I had an issue with my sump pump and Gundlach was out within one hour to look at it. It was an easy fix (oversight on my part), but they were honest and helpful. Service man was professional and friendly.

Recently, I contacted Gundlach to service a drainage block in one of my tenants' sewer system. First, the service representative had me to pay for one price and later that evening he informed me that he would have to come back the next morning to complete the job and bring different equipment. On the following morning, the service manager called and informed me that they were at the site to resolve the sewer blockage; however, it was going to cost an additional $700.00.

I asked why didn't the serviceman tell me this the day before. Later that day, I received a call and I was told that everything was working. However, a few days later, the tenant informed me that the problem still existed. After I contacted the manager to get someone to come back, he requested that I pay the $700.00. Although the job had not been completed.

He responded by saying that he knows my kind and that I'm trying to scam the company. His statement was further from the truth. I only wanted to get a second opinion! After contacting the City Utilities, a representative performed a camera analysis and discovered that a tree root has grown in the pipe and creating this blockage. Also, the City video taped the issue and allowed the tenant to view the blockage. Gundlach never mentioned anything about a tree root and never offered to allow the tenant or me to view the blockage first hand. In summary, the manager was very rude, made discriminatory remarks, and provided unsatisfactory customer service!

Literally was living my worst nightmare the last 12 hours when our air conditioning stopped working and the forecast was 95 degrees today. Being new to the area we had used "comfort care" and were extremely disappointed with their customer service (mainly their rude and unaccommodating dispatch lady) multiple calls elsewhere and even emergency calls with no luck.

We called Gundlach as soon as they opened and said they would send out a repair team within two hours, they were even here earlier than that. The two technicians were extremely kind and accommodating and went out of their way to get our air back on in less than an hour, Highly recommend!

I called and spoke with Joe about a sink issue at my rental home. He was very polite and explained to me that an initial fee of $89 dollars would be due for the trip but would be included in the total of the bill if the job was done by their plumber. I agreed. They had a plumber on the job site super fast. The plumber then calls me and says "I know what you were told about the $89 dollars but yea, forget that.

This is going to be $330." He was extremely irritable. $330 to snake a drain. He snaked the drain, sloppily slapped leak tape over a leak on the same drain and left the house without fixing the leak. Sorriest excuse for a plumbing company I've ever had the experience of dealing with. I called Any Time Emergency Plumbing and dealt with Illya who was very professional. Update: After expressing disappointment in the service I received a call from Gary. Gary was very calm and was aware of this review however it was clear from the onset that this was nothing more than a collections call.

He interrupted me numerous times when I attempted to answer his questions and was extremely condescending, at one point going so far as to smugly imply that I don't know how to read. I CANNOT stress enough how horrible my experience with this company was. BUYER BEWARE!

We have used Gundlach for over 10 years but in the last 2 years it's been a challenge with undisclosed rates that have increased 3x in the last 16 months. Make sure you get ALL of the pricing if possible before they come or you'll be charged $89 for the visit. So much for customer loyalty!

We had a systems check up this morning and as always had a good experience. Today Gary was the tech and he was exceptionally knowledgeable and professional.

We just bought a house here and had some plumbing issues that needed attention. We called and Brad and his partner were dispatched immediately. He presented several options and helped us choose what we would need. They were extremely knowledgeable and did a great job. I will only use this company from now on, and will always request Brad.

Robert Dean has serviced my heating/cooling system for sometime. He is always polite and knowledgeable as are all the service technicians who have worked on my system over the years. I look forward to a continuing relationship with Gundlach.

Robert was our tech yesterday. He was very polite, courteous and well informed and passed his knowledge on to us. He went the extra mile to help us out with our upstairs bedrooms which were not getting the proper air cooling. He spent a lot of time with us explaining how things worked and when he left he had answered all of our questions.

Please know that I deeply appreciate the speedy service and the care your workmen gave to our project. As for my wife, she was happy to learn the guys gloved up their shoes prior to entering the house.

The best plumbing and HVAC service in Richmond, Virginia that anyone could ask for. We needed work done on a house near Willow Lawn and they were very quick to provide an estimate. This is a great family owned business that will help you in any way possible.

Called because they were recommended. Was able to talk to someone with no wait. Was transferred to service area, talked to Joe, was upfront on what they charge, and how they do things. When I mentioned work was for a three unit apartment he cut conversation short, and said they were not the people for me.

I woke up to my home nice and warm on a July morning. I've dealt with a broken AC unit every summer for the last 6 years, and when your home is in the upper 90s it isn't any fun. I have an insurance plan with Residential MD that I will be canceling, because 90% of my service calls are for my Heatpump, and as much as they have come out to work on it, it should be brand new.

I have used Gundlach for several years and also had them install a new system downstairs last spring, which is working exactly as advertised and saving me money each month on my electric bill. They are honest and professional all the way.

Danny and Mike rescued our toilet! Lord knows we tried to DIY and only Lowes came out ahead on that deal! So I called the good boys at Gundlach and their friendly, knowledgeable and spot on service cured my ailing toilet!
