Lauterbach Electric did an outstanding job installing recessed lighting, running a new circuit and handling some electrical repairs that were needed in my house. They were professional, on time, courteous and all around great to work with. I will not hesitate to call them again when I need additional electrical work completed. It was so hard to find an electrician with the time, energy, and patience that Lauterbach has. They communicate well, are reliable, and do great work. I would work with them again and also highly recommend them for any project.

We called several electricians in the Richmond area based off of referrals and reviews from others. Lauterbach was one of two companies that showed up on time and on the day they said they'd come by to check out the projects for a quote. We needed someone to check out a faulty attic fan, remove a couple of ill-placed recessed lights, rewire and install a ceiling fan, and install a grounded outside outlet in our backyard. Dwane was extremely professional and helpful even before he ever knew we were going to select his company for the project.

He squirreled up into our attic and checked out an attic fan that we didn't know much about. A previous electrician (without going into the attic) said that it sounded like we had a gable fan and ran a quote based off that assumption that was twice the price of what Lauterbach quoted. Dwane got into the attic himself and confirmed the type of fan it was, if it was currently wired, and if it was completely broken as we had suspected.

He even disconnected the fan prior to leaving and told us to contact a roofer to have it removed - so that we could tell roofers definitively that it could be removed safely. Dwayne got us a quote for the project within 24 hours, and we set up a day to have the work done within that same week. Barry and Kenny came by at 7:30 AM the day of the project - as they said they would! - and immediately got to work.

They completed all of the project (except the attic fan since that's reliant on roofers currently) before lunch and were very kind and respectful of wearing a mask while inside the house (properly, no noses). The price aligned with the quote, and they carted the old recessed lights out as well so we didn't have to fuss over it. This entire project from first contact to completing the project was completed before the first electrician that came out for a quote had even returned HIS quote for consideration. We will 100% be using them for future work and referring them to all family and friends.

The Lauterbach folks did a great job installing our new front house lights. Our older lights were smaller and pulling away from the siding. We texted pics and measurements back and forth and they got the perfect hardware to hang the new fixtures. Came out fantastic. I also had them move a 220v outlet for a newly delivered electric stove - and that was done in 10 minutes. We'll use Lauterbach many more times!

I've worked with quite a few electrical contractors over the course of my career in construction, and I can wholeheartedly recommend Lauterbach over almost anyone. I've found them to be competitively priced, honest, responsive, and most importantly they do great work. If you need an electrician you can place your trust in, who will show up when they say they will, and whose craftsmanship is top notch, call them. You will not be disappointed!

Mr. Chisenhall came out over the weekend to try and fix my problem. Had to send out field technician a few days later to take care of my problem. Very responsive and attentive to my issues. Gave options for correcting problem up front with cost options. Do excellent work and clean up after they are finished. No evidence of them ever working.

Although I generally don't review companies, I felt compelled to share my experience with Lauterbach Electric. My wife and I decided to completely remodel the kitchen of our 1956 home in Richmond. We also were determined to act as our own general contractor and manage the subcontractors ourselves. After locating the appropriate contractors, we began and worked through the design details with the appropriate subs.

After the schedule was planned, the first electrician fell through, unable to make our revised scheduling. The plumber/carpenter we were using suggested Lauterbach Electric. I will say this wholeheartedly: I AM GLAD HE DID. After speaking with the president, Dwayne, on the phone, he showed up, thankfully, early for the initial appointment to assess the job.

He not only assessed the work that he had to do, but brought clarity to what we wanted to do, suggested very positive and attractive additions and later provided us with a detailed proposal. This included no only the scope of work, but the fact sheets for all products that he suggested and would use for the job. When Kenny and partner arrived after the initial demo, I found them both intelligent and personable.

They were completely communicative during the job and successfully worked around our elderly beagle dog. They showed up on time, when they said they would. They also took the job one step further and replaced all the old wiring in the walls, to ensure safety. This was beyond the scope of the job. These guys worked around the other subs without problems and communicated well with them directly as to when they were needed.

We absolutely loved the results they produced. Even though my experience with electricians is limited, I would not use another company if I have the choice to use Lauterbach.

Sunday evening we smelt something burning and our breaker box and the wall was hot. We called the fire department. Our main breaker got so hot it welded itself to part of the breaker box. Dominion Power removed our meter and we were without power.
