Pete and Nancy are super nice people and really friendly to deal with. I had to replace all four of my HVAC units in my house in 2017. The final cost was just under $25,000. We immediately had problems with one of the units cooling properly and Pete came to the house repeatedly over the next year to try to make it work properly. Eventually, he determined he needed to reroute all of the ductwork on that unit and charged me exactly $1,500 to do so.

This still didn't fix the problem so, after one year, Pete offered to completely replace the unit at no additional cost. He did so and we got two summers of acceptable operation out of the new unit. Last year, my house was hit by lightning and a couple of thermostats were malfunctioning. I emailed/texted Tri-County to set up a service call but they were completely unresponsive so I hired Air-Rite Heating & Cooling to do the repair. Then, in April of this year the new/replacement unit stopped cooling properly so I called Air-Rite again to service it.

They added coolant and it worked, briefly. A month later (this May), the unit stopped cooling again. I called Air-Rite and they said the coil had failed and needed to be replaced. I spent $1,495 to replace the coil - on a two year old unit. One month later (June of "21), the unit froze up and ceased functioning. Air-Rite said the coil failed again and needed to be replaced again.

I assumed there should be some warranty so I reached out to Tri-County and explained that all I wanted from them was the warranty information. Nancy responded, "We actually paid an additional $500 to do the extended warranty on that system. Let me get with that dealer rep and see what's up." Over the next month, I called, texted and emailed repeatedly asking only for the warranty information - nothing else.

Totally unresponsive! They didn't even have the courtesy to make up an excuse like, "We don't have it" or "We can't find it." I should also add that when Air-Rite saw the ductwork that Pete did (and charged me $1,500 for) they commented that who ever did that work must not have been licensed. They try hard and put in the hours, but that's just not good enough if you really don't know what you're doing and aren't interested in providing even the most basic level of customer service. Sadly, I recommended Tri-County to three other people, all of whom used them and subsequently fired them. On a positive note, if you want exceptional service, I can't say enough good things about Air-Rite.

This is not my first stellar review of Tri-County.they are beyond awesome. Last Spring we replaced an AC Condenser and were extremely satisfied. This week we noticed standing water around our unit for two days. Nancy offered to send out a tech the next day to check on the problem. As it turned out, the water was coming from our neighbors AC unit's primary drain which was disconnected an draining onto our patio and ac pad.

He (Logan) blew out the pvc pipe and reconnected to the exit pipe and ours and my neighbors problem solved. When was the last time your service provider fixed another person's problem in order to serve you and at no charge? Pete, Nancy, and Tri-County are just the best!

Wow. In one word, Pete and his team are simply RELENTLESS when it comes to solving the problem at hand. I couldn't possibly recommend them more. We had a crazy storm and a bolt of lightning hit our home (and zapped me in the process, but that's another story). Basically everything with a circuit board got fried, including the A/C unit, furnace, zone control boards, and the physical air conditioner's contactor.

I called at 8am; Logan showed up by 11am. Awesome. Basically, everything was busted or malfunctioning. Left was right, up was down, hot was cold. This lightning took us to town. Seeing the craziness, Logan called in for backup from Pete, the owner with 20+ years of experience. Pete made it his mission to "hack" our system to making A/C for the night, running a bypass around a bad board and temporarily giving us one big zone.

It didn't seem too difficult for him, but it wasn't a rookie fix either. The real story is that you could tell he wasn't leaving until our baby daughter had A/C in her room (it's July). Like I said, he's relentless. The next day, the guys showed up with the necessary replacement parts and a few hours later, we were back up and running just like that!

They documented everything for our insurance claim and even took a ton of time to chat and give me tips for the next house. Pete's definitely going to be part of any inspection we do. I'm confident there's plenty of great HVAC services in Austin / Southwest Austin, but I won't need to find that out. We got our guy, and it's Pete and the team at Tri-County. Thanks guys!

We had a leak in the house and we thought it was a problem with our AC. We called Tri county and they were fast to come and on time. Pete took a look at the issue and told me it had nothing to do with our AC, but rather another problem with water coming out of somewhere else. He did not charge a thing and recommended another contractor to help us diagnose the problem and how to fix it. It's been a while since I had had someone come in the house and be so honest and trustworthy. That's the kind of person Pete and his company are. I highly recommend them!

Great service. From the initial call to payment these guys were professional, courteous and on time. They fixed my immediate problem and offered good advice re an air flow problem we have always had. If my builder will not resolve I will call the team at Tri-County.

Pete, Nancy, and their company saved us thousands! After struggling to get our AC fixed thru a home warranty company for over a month, we decided to take care of it ourselves. We had 2 companies come out and give us quotes. The first company quoted us $6,000 more than Tri-County Heating & Air. They also said they would have to jack hammer our original Spanish tile and foundation to access a new path for a line set!

Or we would have to install faux wood beams and run them the length of our living space. Neither option was very appealing, to say the least. Long story short, Pete came out and informed us that the problem had been wrongly diagnosed by the previous company. He talked about our options, and gave us a quote for a new more efficient system than previously quoted.

He scheduled an appointment for my first available day. His crew of Robert and Chris showed up in the morning and worked thru the day to perform a very professional installation that did not involve a home remodel. Due to the age of my house and unique measurements, they had to put in some extra work to get the job done. Trust me guys, it did not go unappreciated. Thanks for everything guys! I highly recommend this company if you are in search of HVAC repairs.

I am VERY pleased with the product Tri-County recommended and the work performed by Pete and his crew! Stop shopping, avoid the scammers out there, and go with this company! They are honest and will treat you right!

Pete, the owner came out to our home on the first visit and immediately made me feel like I made the right call. You can tell right away that Pete loves what he does and cares deeply about satisfying you as a customer. Very fairly priced, efficient, respectful of our home, and knows their stuff. You will be very happy with Tri-County.

I called Tri County Heating and Air for a second opinion on both of my AC units. My regular AC maintenance was done by a competitor and they were telling me that I may have to have coils in both units replaced and were going to charge me $300 to find the leaks and multiple thousands of dollars to replace if necessary.

I Had a compressor go out and called Tri county to come out for an estimate on Wednesday. Had a new unit installed and blowing cold air on Thursday by 1:00 PM. Great service.

Pete and Nancy saved the day when they were dispatched to my home through my home warranty company. Prior to Pete's arrival, I had had several techs sent out from other companies without a resolution to my problems. This resulted in my A/C completely shutting down in the middle of August. If I hadn't requested a second opinion, I may never had resolve the situation to my satisfaction.

Though it took several days to work through the approval for service with my warranty company, Nancy kept me up to date and assured me along the way. Pete came out promptly on Saturday morning and I was very thankful. He walked me through everything and made additional suggestions to maximize my existing A/C unit. I would highly recommend them to family and friends and plan on working with them for future maintenance and upgrades.

Pete from Tri-County came out to give us pricing on a new a/c unit after another company told us that ours had a leak and needed to be replaced. Rather than trying to sell us expensive new equipment off the bat, Pete offered to take a look at the unit (free of charge) to see where the leak was and determine whether repair was possible.

We had many issues with our AC unit. It was running constantly and was freezing up! Tri-County came to our rescue! They fixed the problem and also noticed our thermostat was not working properly. Since then, we have saved a lot of money on our electric bill! I love the husband and wife team, of Pete and Nancy. I have called them since; because of their honesty and wonderful customer service! I give Tri-County Heating and Air Conditioning 5 stars, because I cant give them MORE!

Very friendly and expert service. We had another company out to check our vibrating unit and they said it was nothing. When Pete showed up he was able to diagnose the problem in less then 5 minutes!

Awesome experience. Our compressor went out at 11:30 on a Friday night. I left about 8 messages with various AC repair places (all 5 star that worked on Saturdays). Tri-County was the first to call me back at 7:30 Saturday morning and said they could have someone out by 2:00. Brent from Tri-County showed up at 10:00 AM and went to work immediately. Problem was a broken capacitor.
