We recently had our AC replaced by John's Refrigeration and we could not be happier with the unit and service we received! Mike Rowland was our sales rep and he was extremely helpful and professional during the process. At no point in time did we feel we were not provided a fair price or being taken advantage of. I recently called John's because their sticker was on my condenser and My A/C quit blowing cold. I just purchased the home a year ago and figured they may have done the initial install. I called at 8:30pm and to my surprise they picked up. I was delighted to speak to someone and I received a call promptly at 7am the following morning. All was fantastic.
The technician called and was running ahead of schedule, and asked if he could come early. When you are without A/C that was music to my ears. The technician diagnosed my problem quickly and thoroughly. He was extremely friendly and professional, used booties over his boots to ensure not to track in any dirt. He showed me about 10 different photos he had taken of various parts of my system.
This is where my review takes a turn. He presented me with three invoices ranging from just over $1300 to $350, all included a package with two more "free" inspections. When he got done going over them, I was extremely confused. I saw all this "maintenance" and "upgrades" to my system but it was still unclear what caused the unit to turn off. I finally had to ask, "what caused my unit to stop working?" He said the drain pipe is clogged and it triggered the automatic shut off.
When I asked how much to clean that out and get me running again it was going to be $150 which included the package with two more "free inspections" Knowing that I have a nice Trane unit, installed in 2015 I asked for only that to be done. So In summary I appreciate their timely response and the fact they ran ahead of schedule however, I won't use them again as they reminded me of the car mechanic that tries to push services that aren't needed.

I would caution customers who don't have a basic understanding of hvac and advise trying another company. Brandon was our technician. He was very polite and knowledgeable. He recommended adding a Compressor Saver and, after thoroughly explaining its function and energy efficiency, we agreed. Highly recommend this company for all your heating and cooling needs. Prompt, curious, neat and clean and on time. Such a nice staff and technicians in the field. Will come out to u anytime 8days a week 25hrs. a day. look no farther John's by for the best. Had new unit and new duct Aug. 2021 installed and today they came out and inspected and cleaned our unit for a HOT summer in the valley. Cameron w/John's Refrigeration just left after completing my seasonal checkup! I am a very satisfied John's Refrigeration client. Cameron diagnosed a pre-failure condition on a part and had the part delivered and installed before he ever left! John's Refrigeration installed my rooftop Trane unit and a wall-mounted Daikin mini-split in 2015.
Best choices ever! John's shows up when they say they will and if a scheduling conflict arises they ASK if you can reschedule. I'm always accommodating because THEY are so accommodating. I've called at 1am in the summer w/AC not working and someone was at my house and up on the roof by 2a. No joke! Saul and Cameron arrived at my home, introduced themselves and promptly explained the reason for their visit. Both men were very respectful and polite. They went to work once I showed them where my thermostat and heat pump/ac were located. They performed a 51 point inspection of my unit. Once completed, they provided pictures and readings of various tests that were run and how my unit did according to the recommendations on the unit.
We talked about some improvements that could be completed in order for my unit to run more efficiently. I decided to go forward on one of their suggestions and they completed the repair. It was a learning experience for me because they were very informative with their pictures and explanations. I signed up for another year of their Peak Performance Club Maintenance Agreement which will allow me two inspections per year. John's Refrigeration is a quality company that I can trust!

The installer was on time, professional, very detail oriented going over everything that was maintenance. He showed me pictures of what needed to be replaced and why. Whole heating system shut down and died at the beginning of the New Year weekend. After four days without any heat, I went online and looked for a heating and cooling business near my address. There were several, but I chose John's Refrigeration because it was located in the area and had good reviews. The installers/maintenance crew are prompt, professional, personable, knowledgeable, and they follow up to be sure all is well. I have had recent contact from the people at John's, asking if everything about my new system is operating well, , and I will recommend this business to others.

Gunnar was great, he was very professional. Called in to have my hvac diagnosed for a heater issue. He did his work through, had to add the jumper wire (1 wire that joins two ports in the thermostat) in order to complete his diagnosis and tried to charge me $200+ wire repait fee for it, on top of the $89 service fee, even though I didnt agree to the additional work.
He removed the charge after I questioned him. Im grateful for his candor and hope this isn't normal business practice. I HOPE that other less knowledgable arent preyed upon like this especially for something as simple as this. I am in the trades and dont condone this type of business. BUT theyve been extremely professional and helpful. Use these guys for sure, but be vigilant.

The service tech arrived on time. Very knowledgeable and friendly. I really liked the way explained in detail the work he did (including pictures) explaining the minimum and maximum parameters of the various test he performed during this semiannual maintenance checkup. A technician from John's Refrigeration came to do scheduled maintenance on my A/C unit today, 12/13/2021. As he was leaving, I said I am sure you are fully vaccinated;he said he was not. I then asked why he wasn't wearing a mask. No response. According to John's they cannot ask an employee if he is vaccinated. The company can send anyone to your home.
The technician was careful to wear shoe covers but had no concern for my health. I cancelled my service contract with John's Refrigeration. I am very upset that John's has no customer service; what is more important than making sure your customers are protected from deadly viruses. This should be the number one concern of John's.

From the initial call to the post service check of our brand new AC installation, John's Refrigeration team was such a pleasure to work with - especially Ivan who did the initial service and Mike who walked us through the installation process and came back to make sure everything was running smoothly for us. I honestly couldn't recommend them enough. Their friendliness, helpfulness, honesty and quality of work will result in me returning for many years to come.

My AC was taking a long time to cool the house and I was able to set up an appointment only 2 days out from when I called. The technician showed up on time and was very courteous and professional, and allowed me to tag along while he did his inspections and answered any questions I had as well as explaining what he was seeing. In the end I decided not to have any services done but I wouldn't have as much information about the health of my system without their expertise.
I would recommend them to others. I had another company out previously that did not check the refrigerant charge or compressor and blower motor current to check the health of the components so I'm glad these guys did it for me.

From my initial phone call (Tiffany and Makayla were superb at handling my initial calls and appointment confirmation), through completion of this job John's Refrigeration Heating and Cooling Company was a pleasure to do business with; they were prompt, professional and took my job seriously. Ivan, my tech, was fabulous: he was a real problem solver and genuinely had my interest at heart when he diagnosed the issues my system had.

I like everything about this company. I use them every year for servicing/maintenance on my a/c unit! I received a text when the technician was on their way. Alex arrived right on time. We have had very good service, overall, each time that we have utilized John's for A/C service. The most recent, yesterday, was Alex. He was a very professional young technician. He arrived wearing a mask, and wore it whenever he would come back in the house, which I appreciate, and took time before coming in to put carpet protectors on his boots. He also was very patient to explain to both me and my 100 year old grandmother (who owns the home) the details of the repair and the options, once he had assessed things--even with several questions from us.

We were very fortunate finding John's Refrigeration for our new air unit(Trane) this spring '21. Could not ask for better service from Shawn Bell, who gave the initial consultation for the unit. The installers. We even got a second look from Shawn to make sure all was working as it should. A blip in the wiring for the thermostat had a Service technician at our home in 30 minutes to diagnose and fix. Very friendly and professional company to do business with. Highly recommend. I was very impressed with every aspect of this business. I was immediately scheduled for a maintenance check and given a 2 hour time frame. about 45 minutes into that window, the office called and advised it would be closer to the very end of that time. I really appreciated that effort. Daniel arrived a little late (hey my garage door people had me waiting 6 hours then cancelled, so I was thrilled with this), but sincerely apologized and went right to work.
We sat down and he detailed what issues I had with my 10 year old unit. He showed me pictures of each issue and explained why it happens and what was the most important to fix. Daniel was friendly and professional. He even noticed I had my new air filter sitting out and offered to change it for me. Great service. I would highly recommend John's!

We are so pleased with the service we received from this company! Our Ac went out & it was 95 degrees in our house. They promptly responded- and it was after hours! They scheduled us first thing the next morning. Not only were they on time, but they called and texted us when the technician was on his way & sent his information. Additionally, they took covid precautions and we felt very safe with them entering our home. They were honest, fair, and did quality work. We HIGHLY recommend this company!

Our experience has been fantastic! Ivan worked with us during Covid-19 restrictions to get our 2 units maintained and running at peak performance. They installed 2 new units a few years ago and our air conditioning bill went from $195 a month to $115 a month. We have been thrilled that we can leave our indoor temp at 79 and be more than comfortable. We are so thrilled we chose John's for our air conditioning needs. The office staff is amazing and always takes great care of us.

John's has treated our home right for over seven years now. This was the first AC company that actually took the time to diagnose and really fix our home's cooling problems -- which involved plumbing a new return, and wasn't cheap, but which actually fixed the problem and has kept us from overloading our replacement unit. Other companies just recommended ever-more-oversized units, probably because that's a better profit and easier than sending techs into the attic. John's does it right, and aren't afraid to give bad news but they give actual solutions!

Bad company stay away from these people they sold me a maintenance agreement to maintain my unit for 10 years couple thousand dollars and call that labor only currently going to court with them stay away not being honest when the father ran this business it was great but now there's a son running it not so good.

Look elsewhere for air conditioning repairs or be prepared to spend WAY too much. The prices this company charges are outrageous. My air conditioner broke while I was out of the country and we had to get it fixed quickly for our house sitter. A friend recommended this company and they came right away. The repair required changing out the thermostat ($350) and the fan motor ($740) and cooling down the compressor ($100).
I had installed the original thermostat myself and knew the cost for the part was around $100 and it takes about 30 minutes to install it, and the cost was $350 for this repair. Regarding the fan motor, I found later that the cost of the part was less than $200 and it takes no more than an hour to do this repair, and the cost was $740. Regarding cooling down the compressor, this requires a tech to poor cool water on the compressor for 10-20 minutes, and I was charged $100 for this. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to get other estimates and the repair had to be done immediately, so I had no choice but to pay these prices.
When I objected to the pricing, the tech Ivan said over and over again that these prices are "very competitive" and I would pay that anywhere. When I asked for the costs of parts and labor, he refused to tell me. He offered a $50 coupon at the end of all of this, as if it would make up for the extreme price gouging that this company does to its customers.
At the end of the day, I was charged $1000+ for a few hours of work by one tech. If you think that is fair, then disregard this review, but I would recommend starting your repair search anywhere else.

We just moved into the area and the home we purchased required some TLC, including an AC check. We called John's Refrigeration and received red carpet treatment from Ivan. He was prompt and friendly. He spent over an hour checking out the entire house and gave us a list of items that required following up, in order of priority. My husband went over each line item with Ivan and was satisfied - and he is not easily satisfied. We appreciate the options available with Club pricing and may be something we would consider in the near future, when we upgrade to a completely new system.

6/28 Today I had my routine maintenance with Johns Refrigeration & let me say I'm glad I'm apart of their VIP club. Brian was our Lead technician who took his time in explaining what he was checking for in our a.c. unit and overall general care. He was very thorough and very patient with all of our questions and explained very well what each process was and part suggested.
Everything worked out so well my husband whose been on the fence about the monthly maintenance plan today realized how important it is and the great service we received. Updated: On their own, John's called me to follow up. I explained my unhappiness, and that I would not be back. They decided to cover the part under warranty, and sent me a refund check for $313, leaving the bill at $230ish. Turns out they had replaced exactly that part on a previous service call. This refund satisfies me, although does not delight me.
I feel this should have been the result in the first place. Customer for years, but not thrilled with the pricing. Been using John's for years, but have noticed that the pricing has gotten outrageous the last couple of calls. Ivan came to our house today, nice enough guy, remembered me from prior calls. Took less than an hour replaced one relay and a portion of the thermostat wire that was exposed to the sun.
The bill was $544. I'm pretty fed up and will call someone else the next time we have an issue. Its a shame that John's is now willing to gouge longstanding customers for a little extra profit.

I saw two of your employees pulled over on the side of the 202 this morning helping a woman change the tire on her car. The particular spot where they were stopped was a bit dangerous, so for them to take the time and the risk to help her was awesome. I think that's a sign of great company values in action!
