Customer service could use work. I just got off the weirdest call with this place. We are trying to change the carpet upstairs and this was the first place on yelp that somehow has good ratings. I call for a quote as well as an idea on the process and the woman on the phone is instantly stand-offish. It ends with her asking me " if I'm just looking for something cheap and quick ".I could feel the eye rolling through the phone.

What kind of ridiculous question is that? Why are you saying that to customers? No. I'm looking to replace my entire upstairs. It always speaks volumes when the person working for a business talks down on Customers who are willing to pay for service. Maybe she had a gut feeling that I wanted cheap service, I'm sure that uppity attitude is good for business.

Working with Savana of Schroeder Carpet. has not only been pleasant but also convenient. I like the boutique type atmosphere, wide selection and excellent technical knowledge. I am confident that Savana can assist me and my clients with our selections, provide and accurate estimate and ensure a quality installation.

I want to say that I am not one to often post about a business but felt I needed to with Schroeder. My builder ordered about 2000 square feet of wood flooring from Savannah about 1 year ago. They didn't do the install - my builder had his person install the flooring. In any case, one board buckled and we didn't have any left-over material.

When I called my builder he told me to call Schroeder (I really didn't think they would be able to do anything.). BUT, from the minute I spoke to Savannah she extremely helpful! She ordered a whole box of material and had her installers come and fix the problem (all within a week!). In fact, her installers also fixed a few spots on my floor that were popping up as well.

I am so impressed with the level of customer service - and skill with the workers she sent to do the repair. I would definitely recommend them to anyone, in fact I will go look for some area rugs that we still need! Oh, and use her installers.they are great!

I've relied on Schroeder Carpet. for more than 20 years. They are professionals in the truest sense. The design work is beautiful! They always stay on budget and on schedule. You can count on them to do what is right - they stand behind their work.

Working with Schroeder Carpet was a very satisfying experience. They were professional, detail oriented, and represent quality products. Their installer was a true craftsman at his job and was always punctual and neat.

I worked with toni and i loved her. Super helpful and knowledgeable. And gets things done quickly and efficiently. Also, compared to the other estimates i received, by far the best price. Not super impressed with their installers but still got the job done well.

Schroeder Carpet. is my favorite place to go for flooring and wallpaper. They have an incredible selection of the best the market has to offer. The entire staff is fun to work with, especially Shannon Iles. She. always goes the extra mile for my clients and me. I also love that they do their own installation, and that the entire job is under one roof.

Working with Savana at Schroeder Carpet was so easy and trouble-free. She was great at understanding JUST what we wanted and then found several choices for us. When price was an issue, she went back to the drawing board and found us an equally beautiful carpet (actually more fabulous than the one we originally picked out).

I have NO idea why this place has gotten such high marks. The customer service here is TERRIBLE. The person who "helped" us out left on vacation and handed us off to her colleague, who then in turn went on vacation! We were on a bit of a time crunch trying to get carpet installed before moving into our new home, so not being able to get a hold of anyone was obviously not going to work. Furthermore, we settled on the carpet we liked when our initial consultant was actually gone on vacation.

I went back to return the samples we'd taken, when I landed upon a section of carpeting I was looking for (wool) that I hadn't seen or been shown during my initial appointment. So had our consultant really been listening to what we were going for? Needless to say, after getting very delayed e-mail responses from our consultant, I hopped online to find out who in the area manufactured the same carpet and found another retailer who carried it (CDC Carpets & Interiors).

I called and was very pleasantly surprised with their superior customer service. Their quote was also better, and they were able to have the installation done as soon as the carpet arrived (1 week later). By the time our consultant came back from vacation, we'd already ordered the carpet and had the installation date set. Our new carpet has been installed and CDC did a fantastic job! They also agreed to come out asap if we ever encounter any problems with it. Now that's good customer service! I'm very glad I took my business elsewhere.

I was very impressed with the knowledge, professionalism, and customer service. The prices were actually very competitive which was surprising given the location and how nice everything is inside. I worked with Julia. I had already been to every other carpet place in Austin that had the healthiest of carpet options. I had educated myself prior and was impressed with all that Julia already knew.

Everywhere else i knew much that the reps did not. I only wished i had found her sooner and saved the days i had already put in. The things Julia and i didn't know, Julia would research and provided thorough answers for. She works hard. If i had my own company i'd try to steal her. For the healthy carpet, you probably wont find cheaper locally.

I recently re-did the carpet and hardwood in my new house. I went to a couple of other stores but wasn't really happy with the service or their selections. A friend recommended Schroeder Carpet and I made an appointment that day. The people were so nice. I finally felt like someone listened to me about what I needed in my home. Choosing carpet and hardwood can be very overwhelming (there are so many choices!).

They helped me choose some affordable Stainmaster carpet for the kids rooms, a nice wool for me and the hubby and a beautiful oak hardwood for the downstairs. They even install! Overall I am very satisfied with the purchase and the installation. I wish I hadn't wasted my time at the other stores!

I have had the pleasure of working with Savana at Schroeder on several projects for home we are updating. While working with most vendors while remodeling has been quite frustrating and exhausting, the time I have spent with Savana has been a joy. So far, Schroeder has been our provider for our kitchen backsplash tiles, laundry room floor tiles, a patterned carpet for our stairs (which Savana had the patience of a saint helping me to select) and carpeting for a media room with a riser (which was not a typical carpet install).

I have also found their pricing to be competitive, which surprised me because shopping there is more like shopping at a boutique and I had previously seen their products/work at high-end homes while on some of Austin's home tours and on Houzz. It can be difficult at times for me to make a decision on home design, but Schroeder gave me lots of options and suggestions, let me take samples home and gave me time to digest and work through "my process" so that I was confident in my choices. I love the transformation in our home and am looking forward to working with Schroeder on other projects (including a bathroom remodel) in the future!

I called for a carpet estimate, and was told I have to go in person at their office to chose the carpet. I went to their office, stayed for 10 minutes in their show room, nobody came out to help. I called again today, and I was told I have to go back and chose the carpet. How do I know that I will be helped if I waste my time to go back at their office? Can't Schroeder Carpet send their estimator to measure my carpet, bring samples with him/her, and write me an estimate?

How hard is this? I think it's not rocket science. By the way, I have called 5 carpet companies here in Austin, and none of them asked me to go in their office to chose the carpet.

I'm giving Schroeder Carpet 5 stars because I **love** the customer service that I received while working with them. I was looking for high-end carpet for two bedrooms and a friend suggested that I go see the selection at Schroeder Carpet. Right away I was very impressed with the nice staff and all of the beautiful carpet! The salesperson was very nice and walked me through the process of choosing carpet.

I brought in a magazine photo of what I wanted and she was able to perfectly match it with something in the showroom. I appreciated that she took the time to ask me specific questions about pets and kids, because she advised me that the carpet I wanted was not suited for a large family (2 boys, 3 girls!) and two large dogs (and a lizard - ugh!). She directed me to carpet that ended up being a slightly lower price in but would be able to stand up to our family.

I think this is really important because instead of just selling me the expensive carpet, she took time to understand me and what we needed. The carpet is absolutely beautiful and has held up well. It took me one day to choose the carpet and they had it installed (very well) the next week! Thanks to a great team!

They helped me select my carpet and set-up an installation date.

After about a week, everything was done! About a month later we ended up also replacing our hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and dining room. Again, it was an easy process. The staff knows everything about the products and helped us to understand what was best for our lifestyle. Hopefully we will be remodeling our bathrooms soon, and when we do we will be back at Schroeder!

Loved working initially with Margo, she was extremely patient with me. When we did decide to move forward and of course wanted to get the project done asap, the fabulous Julia took over - came over to measure, wrote up estimates and scheduled the install, checking in along the way. I considered many other places and price points before moving forward with Schroeder's.

At the end of the day, working with a local business that had its reputation on the line with each job mattered to me. Being able to pick up the phone and talk to a real person or email back and forth made it possible to get this project done the way we really wanted it done. I would happily work with Schroeder's again.

The Schroeder family has been on S. Lamar for years and they have always provided wonderful design and color guidance in decorative finishes and flooring for us and others we know. Their new showroom displays a wide number of tiles, carpets, wallpapers, and wood flooring. We are very happy with the gorgeous floors and carpets we had installed by Schroeder.

Even more recently our new floors were seriously damaged by a water leak. Schroeder jumped right on the job, found the discontinued flooring and just today did a very difficult reinstallation patching in new wood alongside the undamaged original flooring. This jigsaw puzzle job went off without a hitch in one day, invisibly repaired. Then finishing the job, they cleared out all the dust, debris, and sacks of trash leaving us with beautifully restored floors in three rooms. I will always take my business to Schroeder Design.

Schroeder's Carpet/Drapery Showroom : centrally located showroom, good selections, staff -- friendly and accomodating. They stuck with me through nine months of making decisions on flooring (carpet, tile, and wood) for my small, modest home. I ended up LOVING my selections. Margo was great! However. I was very disappointed in the installation of the tile flooring -- the grout had holes, cracks, was not level, sloppy cuts, etc.

The tilers were inexpereinced, and once the wood floor was in, I sure wasn't going to let the tilers in a third time to correct their work. and risk the wood floors? They wore me down with the "bull in a china cabinet" mentality, and I'm stuck. If you purchase flooring with Schroeder's (or any flooring vendor) ask first about the expereince of their installers. Seems experience tilers are hard to come by in Austin. Lesson learned.

I work with them on almost every project I do and I have been satified with their prices, service and friendly office staff.
