Echo Construction

As the Deputy Director of Facilities Services for Colorado College, I had the pleasure of working with Echo Construction for many years as they were considered a preferred small contracting firm for the college. I found Mike Eivens owner to be very honest, above board, reliable and reasonable. When individuals asked me if I knew of a contractor for work at their homes, I always felt comfortable in recommending Mike and Echo Construction.

I was one of ECHO's first customers when I moved to the Springs. It involved extensive remodeling of the house including master bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and the addition of a great bar in the sunroom. Not to be forgotten is the addition of a stucco wall around the yard and the creation of a "secret garden". The outdoor stone fireplace matches the inside fireplace to add a finishing touch.

I'd give this company more stars if I could. I've used Echo Construction on any number of projects from total renovation of one home (including bath, kitchen and living room) to smaller projects that were complex enough to make a contractor the best way forward. In every situation, they were prompt, efficient, professional and friendly, even taking on a roofer for us who did a subpar job. I'd trust them with any project. They are the best.

Echo Construction facilitated a major remodel of our kitchen, dining room, and breakfast nook in the fall of 2018. We hired Echo on the advice of friends, and especially after Echo enthusiastically embraced the challenge (where other bidders did not). Our remodel involved the removal of a structural wall to open up the kitchen to our family room. The wall was replaced with a massive overhead steel beam, supported structurally all the way down to our basement foundation.

Without this engineering to open up the space (to which other bidders declined), we could not have proceeded with the project. Furthermore, Echo committed to completing a working kitchen in time for the year-end holidays, and they delivered on that deadline. Throughout the project, owners Mike & Meredith Eivins were available to us at all times, providing regular reassurance when the project seemed overwhelming.

Their respective strengths (Mike: vision, construction, trades, resources; Meredith: vision, design, finishes, scheduling) are a perfect compliment to each other. Echo's subcontractors were in our house every day for the better part of four months, and all of them put us at ease, to where we could ask questions or raise concerns as we wished. At the end of each day, all subs took extra time to clean up their work areas.

Several change orders took place as the project progressed, and Echo helped us to decide which ones made sense from the perspectives of design and cost. Several times Echo found us more cost-effective solutions than we came up with on our own. The final product - new/expanded kitchen, dining room, and sitting room areas - unconditionally exceeded our expectations.

We could not have envisioned the final result on our own - a testament to Echo's careful guidance during the design phase. We could not have coordinated so many subcontractors in such a timely and effective manner - a testament to Echo's ability to dovetail multiple trades into a single timeline (and knowing which one must come before another). Finally, we could not have put such a significant project in the care of a builder without the care, professionalism, accountability, experience, and sheer knowledge Echo brings to the table.

We have since engaged Echo to remodel our master bathroom, add a door to our basement stair, and provide estimates on several other projects. In addition to their excellent efforts, we have developed a sincere friendship with the Eivins family, which we expect is the case with every one of their clients. We are grateful to Echo Construction for a completely satisfying experience.

When it came time to remodel my kitchen, my friend recommended Echo Construction, Inc. Echo Construction, Inc. had remodeled her kitchen and she was very pleased with the results. Mike came over and spoke with me about the project. I was given an estimate which I noticed was more detailed than others I had received.

We selected Echo Construction and Remodeling to remodel and enlarge our kitchen over several other companies. From drawing plans, processing them through the city building department was completed with no delays. All work was completed ahead of schedule with outstanding results. Echo worked with us for the selection of cabinets, appliances and counter tops.

John and I have had many projects in our home done by Echo Construction and Remodeling, Inc., including adding a front and back patio, retaining wall, basement refinish, total upstairs remodel, a shed added and garage finished. We chose Echo because of word of mouth recommendations and were extremely happy with their work.

Mike and Meredith are simply the BEST to work with! Quality workmanship and attention to detail. Simply the best.

We have used Echo Construction & Remodeling, Inc. for 3 large projects: a deck, a home addition, and a renovation over a couple of years. I can not think of anyone else who I would rather have had than this company! The quality of their work is exemplary, all the people who work directly for Echo, or the sub contractors he brought in, were top notch!

The end product of each project was beyond anything which I could have designed or have told them I wanted. I find their work very creative, most helpful, and of the highest craftsmanship! We have recommended Echo Construction & Remodeling, Inc. numerous times without any reservation. On top of the quality of work, they are just plain nice guys to be around!

Mike and his crew we very professional, they performed a couple of jobs at my work. They were very conscious of the other workers at the office and kept the area clean and the noise to a minimum. They meet their schedule and and did a GREAT job! We had them install a wall with blocking and hookups for a 55" t.v. They also repaired a damaged wall and painted the office. We will hire them again when we need more remolding work.
