About 5 yrs ago we used McDevitt to replace and upgrade our two HVAC systems and probably spent over $10k. They were great at the time so it seemed to be a no-brainer to be a return customer for our next house. What a mistake. After explaining we had to replace the cold air return that needed to be moved for a small home remodeling project, the estimator turned out to be incredibly rude, dismissive and churlish - complaining about McDevitt's labor shortage and how he had to fire two people, blah blah blah.
He seemed unwilling to understand that we were going for an industrial look and wanted exposed ductwork while he kept saying we couldn't do that, we didn't want that, we had to do something else, etc, etc without telling us why any of it was an issue. He wouldn't even look at the air handler to get a sense of the project scope. He ended up leaving after telling my handyman that the job wasn't worth it. If McDevitt needs to fire someone, they might consider this guy. We won't be back.

Saturday, May 21, 2022 I called Mcdevitt Air for a service call due to central unit not cooling. The answering service said some one will give me a call. Within 15 minutes a technician was on the way to my home. I was told I needed a new unit. McDevitt Air installed my current unit 12 years and 9 months ago. With that being said of course It was time for replacement.
I spoke with Chris Tuttle on Monday, May 23 to schedule, thinking it was going to be a week or two for a new unit install. To my surprise He said "ma'am, my crew will be to you in the morning to install your new unit. We can't have our customers in this kind of heat." Thank you McDevitt Air for Great customer service and your professional team.

We called McDevitt to get a 2nd opinion when our downstairs Heat/AC unit needed replacing. Chris came out to evaluate our systems and confirmed that we needed a new unit downstairs, offering a price significantly below the quote from our previous provider. Nate and Rico installed the new unit and gave us further information on our upstairs unit which saved us from making an expensive repair. All 3 were extremely professional and polite. We couldn't be happier with McDevitt!

Nate and Rigo showed up on time and completed the installation of a whole house air filter and virus cleaning global Plasma Solution cleaning system. They retrofitted to our existing HVAC system. The work was preformed professionally in a little over an hours time. Nate gave us the specific operation of the system and changing the filter. He also answered a few questions my wife had with capabilities of the unit. Overall a great experience.

Just had a brand new HVAC system installed by Nate and Rigo. They arrived early and got right to work and got everything done more rapidly than expected. They were professional and helpful. Overall their service was excellent. Additionally, in getting a quote and ordering the system my experience with Chris was excellent. They communicated well with me, and I couldn't be happier with the service they provided. I highly recommend this company, and I would consider them again if I needed another mini split installed.

The techs called me before 9am to let me know that they were on their way. They had to replace two indoor coils located in an upstairs tiny attic, plus both outside compressors. All the work was performed in a very professional and courteous manner. Any questions I had were answered by Nate, the lead tech. Both went about their work quietly and efficiently. Overall, I'm very pleased with my interactions with the McDevitt technicians and I'd highly recommend the company to any of my neighbors.

We have chosen to do business with McDevitt since we moved into our new home in SC. They are courteous, knowledgeable, and more than willing to explain our system and what will meet our needs. Recently we decided to install a whole-house dehumidifier and air purifier. Nate was by missed on the first day, and joined by Rigo the next day. Nate couldn't be more polite or patient! The job got done, done well, and within the timeframe it was promised. We are really pleased with the results, and would recommend Nate and McDevitt to anyone!

While the tech was nice and efficient the billing practices were/are not. The visit was around 89 bucks. The 27 dollars (with shipping) part condensor was billed to me at 144 dollars. An astounding markup indeed. Total 233 bucks for a 40 minute visit. Then came my 93 year old mothers service. A new condenser for her a/c. The estimate was over 3000.00 WTF.
Found another to replace it with warranty for about 1500.00 wow. Our estimate to replace our a/c 6 to 9000.00. An estimare from the other guy was about 3800.00. So yeah. There's that.

I really appreciate the fact that McDevitt Air was able to resolve my air conditioning problem on such short notice yesterday. I am looking forward to the complete overhall/replacement next week. I would also like to recognize Kevin Green for his part in fixing my system. He explained to me what had happened as well as how a home air cooling system works.

Talk about road rage! Whoever drives the truck for this company needs to tone it down on the road! I was just driving towards Downtown Savannah and the truck was pulling out (from the grass, not even from a road) across from the other side of the road to get in front of me over double yellow lines. He didn't check for oncoming traffic and slammed on his brakes in the middle of the other lane as I continued at the same speed I had been going.
Once I passed, he floored it and got really close behind me trying to scare me and continued to tail me extremely close on my bumper. When the lane opened up to 2, he sped past me just a few inches away from my car while flicking me off and yelling. It's sad that a grown man would intentionally harass a young woman on the road because he looked like an idiot while breaking the law.
Why would someone think it's ok to engage in reckless driving in a company truck with your business advertised all over it? This may not be relevant to the services they provide, but I wouldn't want a horrible person like that anywhere near me ever again for ANY reason!
