Alba Energy

Alba Energy installed our residential project. The sales team seemed competent, but the actual installation and follow up has been poor. They brought the wrong panels to the install- the panels were comparable, and we didn't want to continue to delay, so we allowed the installation to continue. Now, we've had non- reporting devices for over 2 years on part of the roof, and despite numerous emails and calls for service we have yet to receive a call back to schedule service. Very disappointed.

What a great experience. Professional from start to finish. The folks at Alba did virtually all the paperwork and the install was flawless. Besides professional, they are courteous, friendly and responsive. Highly recommend!

This is an update of my review: From a 5 star to a 1 star. Notice how long since there was a high rating. Alba Energy still advertise they do all their work from in house. That is no longer true. They sub out the work to "just another installer". Service after the installation is really bad. It takes over 2 weeks to get someone out to look at a $50,000 system that is sitting on a rooftop not producing.

The laid back attitude of the employees after buying and installing the systems tells it all. People that had longevity at ALBA Energy are leaving the company and going elsewhere and being replaced by people that don't care. Service cost the company money and therefore an overhead cost that they will try to avoid as long as possible. If you are serious about solar I would had recommended Alba Energy a few years ago.

I told the service manager I was going to write a negative review about the service call and she told me "OKAY". Don't use Alba Energy for your solar needs. Their web site is not true. The great designers and master electricians they once had are gone to other solar companies. If you decide to go with Alba Energy and have any long periods of wait to get a service issue resolved let me tell you ahead of time "I told you so". Michaela Ford-House, head of operations for Alba Energy, I told you I would write a negative review and since you didn't care I'm sure you don't mind me posting your name with the very poor customer service that you are in charge of.

You are part of the problem as head of operations. My old review when Alba Energy cared: Alba Energy did an outstanding job meeting my needs in solar energy. I spent about three months learning about solar and different manufactures' of solar panels and parts. I then pulled the list of solar system installers in the Austin area and research a numerous companies using resources available to me from the computer such as the BBB, Angies list, company web pages and articles written about solar.

I narrowed my selection down to five companies and had each one come to my house to get quotes and listen to their sales pitch. Alba Energy was not the less expensive nor the highest bid I received, but was honest about meeting my requirements based on actual output rating of solar panels (NOTC) verses the Standard Test Conditions (STC), and other formulas I learned about in my research. Alba Energy also offered a realistic warranty and was backed by a company that has a sound financial position.

I had a bid by one company that promised to beat any other quote and warranty offered. That company had an owner and hired crews to install his systems verses Alba had associate employees to do their install. I also had another company warranty their system for 25 years or as long as the manufacture warranty was for the piece of equipment. If I remember correctly the only part of the solar system that was warranted for over 10 years was the racking and panels.

Other companies agreed to take off the solar panels once if the roof needs to be replaced. Maybe a good sales point but the my insurance company would pay to have that done. I also had rodent/ bird barrier put around the solar panels. The workmanship was outstanding and the crew worked great with one another. The master electrician went over the complete electrical system tying into the grid. Alba was the only company that brought their master electrician to make sure the system I wanted would actually work with the equipment that I had a quote for.

I never have looked back or regretted I went with Alba Energy. my Nov 17, 2015 through Dec 16, 2015 bill was $16.00. The surcharge to stay on the grid in Georgetown, TX is $22.00 a month with my electric company; therefore I produced $6 more electricity than what I used. With the 30% federal tax rebate I calculate my break even point is 12 years based on the money I had in the bank that would be drawing interest. Solar energy with Alba Energy was a great decision for me.

It came down to be all false advertisement that misled me into the contract. The company does not want to take any responsibility of it. Ignoring my email and phone calls for weeks. Company blames on their sales contractors but is that my fault? Sales person explained that it will cover 100 % of my electricity bills but it only cover 30%. Only solution will be adding more solar panel (even with that it will cover about 70~80%, I cannot trust if it is true) with extra cost.

Anyway even I agreed to do if they wiling to extend the loan terms but refused. So the loan payment and electricity bill are more than single source of electricity provider. WHAT A HUGE A SCAM!

Alba Energy were great to work with. They went out of their way to get us any information we wanted and did not try to sell us more than we needed. They took care of all the permits, were here when they said they would be, and were professional throughout the process. Carlos and Sara were both great and took great care of us and explained the process and kept us informed throughout. I highly recommend Alba to anyone interested in going solar.

Update Feb 2019: We have had one or two issues with our system, which was automatically detected by the system Alba installed, and both Alba and us were notified immediately. They reached out to us about as fast as we were going to reach out to them, and they fixed the problems rapidly. Incredible continued support. Thanks again y'all! Original review: I don't think I can say enough great things about Alba.

We've been working with them for several months now on a project at our home and they have consistently done more than we could have expected AND hoped. If we had to do it all over again, I wouldn't hesitate to call Alba again. Thanks so much Alba for a first rate job and patience and professionalism with us.

Although the customer service is on point it has been 2 months and we still cant operate. Also, in the conversations and the documents sent to us the tax credit is 100% misleading. We were told verbally and in writing that in the event we had no liability on taxes we could apply the credit amount to our loan yet that is not the case. Even the repayment form sent to us for the loan stated a loan payment in the event we did or didnt apply the credit to the loan.

If you have no tax liability you dont get the credit. Shame on us for not checking first but when you get a document in writing saying as much it seemed pretty clear. shame on yall for misleading the client into a 30k loan

I am really excited about my new solar energy system that Jenni Nguyen helped me purchase! I feel that the level of knowledge (pros and cons) I was able to gain about the system from Jenni was great and whatever she wasn't sure about she always came back to me with a honest answer. The customer service was really outstanding! They worked around my schedule and always asked questions to make sure I understood what was happening throughout the process. I also want to mention Sheldon, who also was very knowledgeable about the product and process! Thanks Alba Energy team!

Alba Energy provided outstanding customer service and a quality product. We installed 22 panels in November and immediate saw a significant reduction in our energy bill even with the varied weather through out the winter. In addition to the panels, they provided enough LED bulbs for us to completely change out the old bulbs in our home, further reducing our power consumption.

The financing options were better than expected. My kids love the Ecobee thermostats Alba provided since they connect to our Amazon Echo and play music. We would definitely recommend Alba to anyone considering solar panel installation.

Our journey into solar started with a knock on the door. Brenda gave us a thorough and clear outline as to how solar energy might be right for us, and presented us with a well thought out and carefully balanced plan. In the long run, we save money and we add value to our home, all while reducing our carbon footprint. As our interface with Alba Energy, this awesome door-knocker Brenda worked with us every step of the way, through determining if solar panels were right for us, working with our tight schedules during installation, through inspection, and finally (yay!) activation.

Though the timeline from installation (August) to activation (October) was a bit longer than we had anticipated, we have been thrilled with the customer service we have gotten from Brenda and Alba Energy Katy. The panels are practically invisible. I can't wait to see our new energy bill.

Eric was very professional and answered our questions and concerns very promptly. He explained what to expect from the process and kept all promises he made. The installation went very smoothly. The installation crew came early and finished in good time. All permits and rebate applications were handled for us. Overall, they were clear and open about the cost and how everything worked. We are very happy with this experience and are impressed by Alba's culture and work ethics.

Alba was great! I had been wanting to add solar panels to my home for a few years but never pulled the trigger. Alba answered all my questions, helped me obtain available rebates, took care of all the paperwork with the electric company and scheduling installations and inspections - it was great to be able to just sit back and not have to worry about any of that. I can view my system's production on the web or via mobile app and I was ecstatic when my first electric bill showed up. A great experience!

Received quotes from 3 companies. Alba Energy was the most responsive and it felt like they genuinely cared about my request and wanted to make sure all of my questions and concerns were covered. Once I decided to work with Alba Energy the process was very seamless and minimal work on my part. There was only one snag with a product that was D.O.A., and they quickly got a replacement and finished the installation. Only a few days in, but so far I am very happy with the results. I will update my review after a few months to add anything additional.

Alba Energy did a wonderful job of putting a solar array on the roof of my home in Central Austin recently. The entire process was handled professionally, the permitting, the acquisition of rebates and loans, and the installation. I am very happy with the performance of the panels and the savings on electricity, especially now in the middle of the long, hot summer in Austin. I no longer wince every time I hear the air conditioner come on! I definitely recommend them if you are looking into having solar panels installed at your home or business.

Alba Energy impressed me every step of the way. I live in Austin, TX and I received several quotes but Alba did an outstanding job of answering all my questions and designing the system for my specific needs. Not to mention, I did a lot of research online and their products are top notch. Even after signing the contract, they were extremely attentive, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. Overall, one of the best experiences I've ever had with home improvement.

BEST Contractor experience I ever had! I wanted to take advantage of the solar rebates and solar tax credits so i contacted seven different solar companies. Most didn't even get back to us. Alba Energy contacted us right away. The salesman, Kyle started the education process going thru the many options available. He was very knowledgeable and patient.

He even came out to my house several times bringing the chief electrician who climbed on the roof to measure the space and angles need for the design, then a third time to bring the project director who walked the entire site to make sure everything in the design would work. We went through 5 or 6 different redesigns to make sure I was satisfied and getting the best system to meet my needs and price range.

I actually ended up putting all the panels on a remote building to get a larger system to supply my house. Alba even helped me get financing with Sun Gage solar loans. Alba got started right away after contracts were signed online. They kept me updated on the everything, and did all the paperwork needed to get the solar rebates through Oncor and the system approved.

They even set it up so that I can check the output from my system online and with an app on my smart phone. i am very happy with our solar system and with their work. They are highly recommended.

In the Summer of '15, I agreed to have Solar panels installed on my home. Months of frustration went by as the company that was to do the project lost employees, paperwork and my patience. I switched to Alba Energy in December, and within DAYS had initial inspection and paperwork done and a crew on the way to install.

I chose Alba Energy for solar on my home in Austin because of a recommendation from a past client. They lived up to my expectations. Chris Burton did a walkthrough with me on the solar panel installation and came through with everything he promised.

After sitting on the fence about whether to get solar for about 2 years, we finally took the plunge this year after Austin Energy's latest rate hike. We'd seen a few homes get solar in our neighborhood and spoke with our neighbors about their experience and for recommendations.

We had a 7kW solar panel system installed by Alba Energy in late January, and can't say enough good things about these guys. We did our research and had 3 other companies give us proposals and meet with us.

We were looking to purchase solar panels for 2015. Our utility company was offering rebates that ended in 2015. We made a decision to go ahead and pursue getting solar panels and sent requests to several solar panel companies for quotes, etc. After much deliberation, we went with Alba.and must say we was very happy with our decision and the whole process. Alba did pretty much everything for us. We got a great project manager (Amanda Adair) who walked us through everything. Let the savings begin!

This was the year for solar for my wife and I. Cost of equipment is down, City of Austin rebates are still high and Federal Tax Credit is still 30%. We started looking and talked to the 4 major Solar installers in Austin. Circular Native Longhorn Alba (circular joined Alba) After talking with all of the Solar installers, 2 stood out. However we went with Alba. Alba was able to work with our flat roof, and offer high a quality design and also got very in depth with us on our questions regarding calculations, layout, and installation.

During the installation I happened to be around. All of the installers were super friendly and very knowledgeable. They actually stopped what they were doing to talk to me, and explaining how it was all connected and worked. They even gave me their wiring schematic and said they could print off another one. These guys busted a@$#!. The system was installed in a few days as they worked between the rainstorms in May and all inspections passed 1st go around.

I cannot say enough how happy we are with the overall system. It was delivered faster than expected per schedule, it is producing an amazing amount of power, and we are at ease with having a warranty covered by such a large company as Alba energy. We wouldn't have changed anything! I'd be more than happy to speak with anyone regarding our experience.
