We have used JH Appliance many times over the last few years. When appliances break there is always need for the repair to be fast and economical. This is our experience with JH Appliance. Service crew is always fast and even educational on why the appliance broke and what fix was needed. I cant recommend them enough! Services: Freezer repair, Dryer repair, Washer/dryer repair

My dishwasher dry heat does not work so I called whirlpool service and they recommended J&h. Technician checked and claimed board was broken and need to be replaced, they replaced it but still does not work and claim the new board was not good. Put back old one and still does not work. charged $159 for diagnostics fee and nothing change.

Huge shout out to J & H appliance out of San Jose and particularly to Walter who came to service our built in Kitchenaid refrigerator. Walter was able to come out within two days of us calling for service and he told us right away we would try the least expensive option first. He was very up front with us that the if the first option didn't work the price would go up because the labor to work on our built in was very high.
He ordered the part and checked in with us a couple days later to let us know when it would be in and when it came in earlier than expected he was able to find time to fit us in since he knew we were living without a fridge. Thankfully the part worked and Walter even called the next day to make sure everything was still working perfectly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND J & H Appliance! Also, they are located in San Jose and we are in Salinas, they still offered fast and helpful service!

It took several visits to finally fix the problem on my dishwasher. I must say they are very responsive and on time, early even on their service calls. Now my dishwasher is working as I originally thought it would. Costco/Kitchen Aid may have sent me a defective dishwasher to begin with. After it was originally delivered, the dishes would still be wet after a wash cycle.
It would never come out completely dry. it took them two repair visit to finally fix the dishwasher. And now after the wash cycle is done, the dishes comes out completely dry and warm. It works better now than when it was new. I always thought dishes should be completely dry after a full dry cycle, like all of my old dishwasher in the past. So I would test my appliance right away and make sure it is working as you think it should according to the features you have. And call them back they are very responsive. Good luck everyone.

Six stars! Big shout out to Whirlpool authorized repair people -- J&H of San Jose who cover from San Mateo to Hollister with local reps. Ishmael of J&H drove to Jackson Oaks from Hollister to handle my case. He provided me a second opinion after the first repair person said my dishwasher was unfixable, or if I did want to fix it the parts would cost $900 and take 12 weeks, so he recommended I trash my 3 year old $1400 dishwasher with a different brand.
I called J&H, they came out that week, ordered a $300 pump, replaced it within two days and voila! My lovely sparkling Kitchenaid dishwasher works! You will be just as thrilled as I.

I had a problem with my refrigerator and made a call to J & H appliance. They put me on there schedule right away. I got a phone call letting me know there status. That he was on his way. He was very respectful with wearing a mask and making sure his boots were clean. Communicated with me over the problem with the refrigerator and fixed it with like a professional. I will only use them for any services at my house. Thank you so much J & H Appliance.

Mike from J & H appliance was exceptional in the repair of our Jenn Air double oven. The entire process went smoothly from diagnosing the problem, ordering the part, and then the scheduling of and the repair itself. The company is extremely responsive and has excellent customer service. I highly recommend them.

I have a JennAir combo oven/microwave. I called J&H because the door was not closing properly, so the microwave wouldn't start until the door was really pressed. J&H sent a very nice, capable-seeming young man to check out the problem. He explained that the door hinge springs can stretch a bit over time (the microwave is about 7 years old), and thus get to where they can't pull the door all the way closed.
There are also two small contact switches that are depressed by the top of the door as it closes, and I asked if those might be the problem. He assured me that those switches very rarely go bad but he had seen at least a couple of instances where the hinges needed replacing. Replacing the hinges on this microwave -- which is part of a single unit with the oven itself -- is a two-person job because the entire unit needs to be pulled out of the wall to get to the metal shrouding around the microwave that has to be removed before you can do almost anything.
So they had to schedule a time when two technicians could come out, and that took several weeks (to be fair, it seems one of the people who does the scheduling tested Covid-positive along the way, and that caused a two-week delay, though I think they should have been able to cope with this a whole lot better). They came out and replaced the hinges, reassembled the microwave, put it back in the wall and tested it once.
It worked. The charge of $340 sounded to me like the going (i.e., high) rate, but at least I had my microwave working. They left and I decided to test it one more time. It didn't work; the problem was still there. I actually ran out my door as their truck was driving away, but couldn't get their attention. So I called and explained what had happened.
Now I was convinced the problem was the switches, so I asked them to order the parts and schedule a visit (again, for two techs) as soon as possible. I was told the parts should arrive in 3-4 days. By the time I finally got their techs out to do the repair, 3 weeks had gone by. But I did finally get a working microwave. Final note: at various times during all three visits, I noticed that the light in the microwave wasn't working.
It is hard to believe that none of the techs who came out noticed this as well, but I do take responsibility for not pointing this out until the very end, and I asked the techs on the last visit if they carried this particular bulb (which appears like something you could find at Home Depot). They did not. If I wanted, they could go back and check if they could find one; I say yes please.
Never heard back from them. To me, decent customer service includes looking at problems from the customer's point of view. They could not have done this without seeing that "boy, it's awfully dark in your microwave". This on top of the really massive delays in getting the technicians out here to do any work at all leads me to think there must be something better. So now I am hunting for a repair company to come out and!change the light bulb! I can tell you right now, it will not be J&H.

My Kitchenaid fridge was temping at 60 degrees. A local tech came out only to make a wrong diagnosis. I called J&H appliance. They quickly scheduled me and sent out Walter. Have you ever felt unsure of someone doing a job? Well, Walter from the start was confident and professional. He ran a diagnostic check electronically and found the issue immediately. No doubt he knew his work. They ordered the parts, Walter returned and fixed my fridge. Temping at 38 degrees now. Thanks to Walter and J&H Appliance for the fantastic work!

I was having some issues with my dishwasher, and was about to just call it quits and get a new one. But it was under warranty and I had heard some good things about J&H from a friend, so decided to give them a shot before breaking the bank for a new one. Michael was on time, courteous, and knew what he was doing. He found the problem, explained it to me in normal people terms, and fixed it quickly on the first visit.
He also showed me a couple things with the dishwasher I didn't know before, and it's like it runs better now than it ever did! I will HIGHLY recommend their services moving forward, and thanks again, Michael, for fixing my dishwasher and saving my pockets!

I, like others that were unsatisfied, had the displeasure of having Michael show up to my house for a refrigerator repair. This was based on a recommendation from our local Best Buy, where the item was purchased. Michael clearly hates his job, and maybe even his life in general. I would rather buy a new fridge than have this guy fix ours. Incredibly rude, and very confrontational, almost to a bizarre level.
He acted like he could say or do whatever he wanted because we absolutly needed him to fix our stuff. Provided zero knowledge or information about the repair. Called the office number and was hung up on. This company is a joke, and I'm a little surprised Best Buy would recommend them. they care nothing about customer service and I recommend looking elsewhere for appliance repair. Like others have mentioned, I would rate them zero stars if I could. Thanks for wasting my time, and your terrible attitude Michael!

We had just bought a Whirlpool dryer from Home Depot a week earlier and it decided not to heat. After calling the appliance line on the receipt the Whirlpool people set up an appointment 2 days later with J & H. Walter the technician came on time, following all safety guidelines and did a quick diagnosis of the dryer and then took the time to explain the issue.
He said that he would need to order a part which was fully covered by warranty. Walter was so easy to understand in his explanation I could tell he knew what he was doing. I was so impressed with him I asked him to take a look at our range which also had an issue. He again quickly diagnosed the problem and told me he could fix it when that part would come in and we could do both during the next service call.
A few days later the parts came in and both my appliances are fixed and working perfectly. It is so nice when things just go the way you hope they would. I will call J&H again should I need any appliance repair.

My whirlpool dishwasher was not cleaning well so i called my insurance since i still have it covered, they send Ramon to come diagnose the problem. He is very professional and confident about the problem with my dishwasher, He ordered the parts and called back within 2 days and installed in less than 45 mins. In my observation, Ramon knows his job very well and competent. J&H appliance should hire more technicians like Ramon. Technicians like him makes a good reputation with their company. Thanks for fixing our dishwasher fast and accurately. I highly recommend this company.

Really poor quality business. The dishwasher company referred us to them for the repair of the dishwasher. 1st their scheduling is 3-4 weeks out, a big problem. The appliances are a daily use product and they don't have enough resources to see within a week. 2nd the serviceman does a poor job. He came in and after quickly looking he determined the root cause and told us they will order parts but parts are back-ordered so it will take 3-4 weeks. he spent 5 minutes and left.
Then they got the parts and he comes back to replace them, but now he opens us the dishwasher and says the dishwasher may have pest infestation and we are unable to fix it. Then why didn't you determine it 3 weeks back when you came originally. Then they report it to the insurance and now insurance asks us to get a pest inspection done after then only they will be able to service our dishwasher. we pay extra $200 and also scheduled it out couple of weeks, they come and declare no pests issue in kitchen or bathroom and gave us the whole report to send to insurance.
We sent to insurance, but insurance is adamant on the report by the serviceman from J&H and doesn't want to cover the warranty. Now we are left with the dead dishwasher, waste of money to the insurance, waste of money to the pest inspection, all because of poor diagnostics and communication by the J&H service person.

My six month old Whirlpool smart top load washer decided to not spin and smelled like something was burning last week. I called Whirlpool and they gave me the number for J&H as they are the only service provider for Whirlpool in my area. I called on Monday and got an appointment for Wednesday(today), They sent Junior who has about 12 years of experience and is the nicest guy you ever want to meet.
I was pleased with his attitude and professionalism and he changed a few things on the machine and we are hoping for the best. I so appreciate the quality of a skilled technician who was more than happy to get this washer working again. Fingers crossed that I do not have to knock on my neighbor's door again with a basketful of laundry to wash.

Very polite technician, but also admitted to not knowing much and getting the job as a friend/family. They inspected an appliance and gave a bogus assessment of a faulty appliance that caught fire and now I'm fighting with the appliance manufacturer to get it reassessed. Any fire under regular usage is not normal and is unsafe. Competence is a huge concern and I would avoid working with this company.

Called them to replace a ice machine that they have done before in past. Guy showed up 8/26/2021all he did was look at it and said $150. To order part paid him and they can cashed check 9/9/2021. Well today 12-15-2021no part and no timeline. They charge you $150. just for someone to look at it and say that's $150. For them to order a part that's never coming. Would not recommend them. Seems very shady now.

I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher from Costco with a 2-year warranty. Unfortunately, it has had numerous issues and I had &H out 5 times to service it. When the 6th issue arose, I scheduled a service call on-line on the Whirlpool site. I documented the issue in detail. I then got a call from Karen at J&H saying she had no information on my warranty.
I told her that they had already serviced it 5 times so should have the info. She then put me on hold with no warning and I was treated to ear-splitting hold "music." I hung up and called Costco and asked them to clarify the warranty issue. directly with J&H. After 40 minutes on hold they had spoken with J&H and everything was supposedly resolved.
Then I got a voicemail from Karen asking me what parts she needed to order. How would I know? I had documented the issue - I did my part, now it was time for them to do theirs. Then J&H stood me up for the call which I had of course waited for all afternoon. I called Whirlpool and spent another 1/2 hour on the phone and asked them to reschedule the call and to call J&H and explain to them what the problem was.
Then I got another call from Karen asking what parts she needed to order. WHAT IS WRONG HERE?! I called back and told her what had transpired and told her it was J&H's responsibility to figure that out and I hung up. I was stood up for the second service call as well. I then spent 34 minutes mostly on hold with Whirlpool trying to find a different service provider. If you are a fan of incompetence, this is the place to come.

Very impressed and grateful for J&H Appliance and Ramon. They are committed to doing quality work and getting the job done. Pricing is fair and their technicians are skilled, professional and kind. They do very honest work and they do a great job. Our freezer stopped freezing and the temp got too low, then the next day it just came back to life. A few months later, it happened again so we called the manufacturer who referred us to J&H.
Within days, Ramon came by to check the fridge and explained to us what may be the fix, cost to repair vs a new fridge, etc. He was very clear that they would fix that first as its the most cost efficient thing to do and if that works, then we're good to go. He also explained what else it could be if that first fix doesn't work. I appreciated how honest Ramon was throughout the entire process.
The first repair did not solve the issue and it took multiple visits but each time we called, they ordered parts that arrived 1-2 days later and had us on a schedule within days of our call. We requested Ramon and he came out each time. He was very kind, professional, thorough, knowledgeable and helpful. He took all the Covid19 protocols (shoe coverings, masks, etc) and cleaned thoroughly each time, leaving his work area spotless.
And they were very kind in not charging us for several parts/labor. In the end, several parts were changed and it has been working good as new ever since. We appreciate the repair from J&H and will keep them in mind should we need any repairs. They do not service all brands so check with them first.

Honestly, this business is a mixed bag. A new oven I bought was DOA, so I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me to this place. I book an appointment and the technician comes out at a reasonable time. Punctuality is important to me. Here's where things go awry. The technician says that I lack the right voltage for the oven and didn't check the issue thoroughly.
He spent about five minutes total and left. I call the company, then get the run around for a few weeks. They don't carry parts on hand and must special order, fine. Pandemic and all that I get it. Several weeks later a new technician comes out. This man quickly became my new best friend, he took apart the oven piece by piece and checked every component.
He even walked my through the issues as he was doing it. He finds that the board was the issue and replaces it. Nothing about my ovens voltage at all because I know for a fact I have the right cables in my home. First technician was totally garbage and had no problem lying to me. Second was great, but turns out he's not local to this place. He was there on special training.

I rarely write reviews; I am, just as rarely, impressed by techs coming out to do a repair. But this is an exception. Thank you, JH applicance for incredible service this morning for my Kitchenaid refrigerator. The tech was on time, thoughtful, analytical and evaluated the issue immediately. He was courteous and helpful and even my husband, who is pickier than me about service, was impressed. Can't recommend them highly enough!

I was fortunate enough today to have Ed come out to my house and fix my KitchenAid refrigerator. Behind my Crisp draw, it was completely frozen with ice. It turned out that there was a part that needed to be replaced because it was not defrosting the fridge, so all my food was actually slowly spoiling. I took a few photos ahead of time and emailed them to the company and explained my problem to them so they were able to order the part before the tech/Ed came out. It took 2 hours for him to fix it! 5 stars to Ed and this company!

I highly recommend J&H Appliance. Last Thursday they sent Guillermo to look at my freezer which was covered with frost. He was able to diagnose the problem, remove the frost, get the ice maker working again and the light back on. He was very professional and personable in addition to being very knowledgeable. I am calling to let you know that I had a terrible day on Friday with one of your associates repair specialists, A person named Michael, He was very unprofessional and rude, extremely arrogant and confrontational. I was very overwhelmed with anxiety I didn't know how to handle the situation and was completely unprepared the way this person was behaving. I think I deserved to have my washing machine fixed and repaired to the best of the companies ability!

Our experience with J&H Appliance repairs has been terrific. We have had a variety of problems with our 3 year old refrigerator/freezer that they have addressed successfully. Appointments have always been easy to schedule, their service tech arrives on time, correctly determines repairs needed and completes the work ASAP in a neat manner. We have ben particularly pleased with Refrigerator Tech "Dave" who has always been efficient and professional.

J&H was commissioned to do a warranty repair on our dishwasher. They do not stock parts and are reluctant to call the manufacturer for advice given the manufacturer's time-consuming phone tree. As such, the J&H techs visit, guess at what part needs to be replaced, order the part that's then installed at the next visit. So, two parts in, four visits, one month after the initial call and the unit is still not working. Yet another week waiting for their tech. What will be the next guess?

I scheduled a repair for a broken washer. The guy came down, spent less than 10 minutes, then said, "buy a new one". Well, no problem with that recommendation. However, he still charged me the full $149. I feel robbed. I could have got the "buy a new one" recommendation for less. Update: as I read through the existing review: https://snipboard.io/4GrCAW.jpg wow - spot on, I got them because of Whirlpool. So the lesson is: avoid J & H Appliance, as well Whirlpool.

I had an unprofessional repair guy named Kyle come to my house and he looked like he had just gotten out of a bar fight or a car wreck. He had no idea what he was doing, he actually called Whirlpool to ask them what to do. I had an issue with my three prong socket too and I asked him if he had the tool to check it which he did.but then he said he had to call his boss about something.
Next thing I know he is saying his liability ended at the machine and I got charged $129 for him to come out anyway. Then he said something to me about getting a rope which seemed very uncalled for. I told him I was pretty f'n pissed about all this. Only reason I went through this company was because Whirlpool is contracted with them for repairs. Sorry Whirlpool but I'll buy a new dryer instead of having to deal with your contracted repair company. That shouldn't happen but it is here. Avoid this company.

My still-under-warrenty dishwasher stopped opening the tablet dispenser during wash cycle. I scheduled an appointment on the whirlpool website and was able to get a slot with J&H the following week. Salomon was the technician who came and repaired it. He called in advance to let me know he was nearby. Followed covid-protocol, although no shoe cover, but no biggie, as I had him entered through the garage which directly leads to the kitchen.
He used the program on his phone to troubleshoot it and repaired it instantly. It turns out thr cable that connects the washer tablet was loose and all he had to do was open the washer lid and connect it back! He stayed for a short cycle to make sure the tablet dispenser opened before leaving.

My refrigerator was making a loud noise--but only intermittently. Walter from J&H Appliance came out, and while we could not replicate the problem while he was there, he checked out the video I had on my phone and also sent it to several other repair people to get their opinions. He said he would do some research and come back in two days. He gave me his number so I could text him more video when it happened again.
When Walter came back two days later, he had an idea of how to fix it. He showed me what he was doing and why. And it worked! Problem solved. Walter was patient, friendly, helpful, honest, and a good listener. I got my fridge repaired for a very fair price. Recommended! (PS: This was in March 2021, during the Coronavirus pandemic, so important to note that Walter wore a mask and maintained appropriate distance while in my home and performing the repair. Great!)

I booked a repair for this machine on the Maytag website they are the Maytag authorized dealer shown on the Maytag website. I have a 1985 Maytag washing machine it's leaking from the bottom. My appointment was to be today May 28th from 12:00 to 4:00 at 2:30 I called j&h they told me I don't have an appointment booked. The lady I spoke with told me parts are not available for my model. However I can order them from different parts depots online. without a problem. J&H did not want to send anybody out so I sat here for two and a half hours for nothing

We had nothing but bad experiences with J&H Appliance, as we were stuck with them, because our appliance vendor ( Whirpool), uses them. We remodeled our kitchen last year and purchased Jenn Air appliances (what a mistake). The cook top had a recall ( it would start on its own and had caused fires) and we had to replace with an inferior model. J & H service did the work.
The serviceman did not attach the undermount rubber properly, so it collects crumbs and dust. Its absolutely horrible to clean underneath it. Then later, the double oven light would just come on by itself and flicker. Again j& H appliance came to replace parts. They had to come three times, because all parts were not here. They had to unscrew and pull out the oven to replace the part.
Twice the servicemen did ok by putting it nicely back into place. The last service man, did not. After he had left, when we opened the adjacent cabinet door it got stuck to the railing and chipped a big chunk from the door. I contacted Jenn air, they said I have to deal with J&H (even thought they had them do the repair). J&H service manager, Nino, rudely told me I have to use my home insurance to fix it.
Its not their problem. My many appeals to both J&H and Whirpool, was unsuccessful. Yes, I will file a complaint with BBB. In general J&H people have done a lousy job and are unprofessional. I recently bought a front-loading Whirlpool washer which was installed (by others) improperly and which also displayed an error code on small load cycles. J and H came out on a warranty repair and resolved both issues. Greg was courteous and really knows his stuff. The warranty repair was fully covered (the washer was new) so my cost was zero. All service operations should be run like this!
