Spiders
Report
Hot climates with humid weather patterns are most conducive to spider infestations. For the most part, spiders bites are not life threatening and pose little risk. In addition, spiders are usually not aggressive unless provoked. This often happens accidentally when someone puts on a piece of clothing without knowing a spider was living inside.
Mosquitoes
Report
When you live in Florida, mosquitoes can be a bother almost year round. Along with other biting pests, mosquitoes can be aggravating to anyone trying to enjoy an outdoor environment. To make matters worse, the news has recently been filled with stories about the spread of the Zika virus, a dangerous mosquito-related disease.
Termites
Report
Termite colonies can range in size from 500,000 to 5,000,000. Termites feed on the cellulose or wood materials that your home is made of. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services reported in a February 2006 press release that termites cost consumers in Florida more than $700,000,000 annually in cost due to termite damage, repair and control.

6/8/22 Response to Safari: We had several professionals who all immediately diagnosed Chinch Bugs, and I did try to schedule an actual inspection with the County Inspection Office May 24, 2021, but it was in the middle of Covid and the gentleman called to tell me he was doing the work of five people and couldn't come out to test. I did state that Safari did put in a lot of time and effort to remediate the issue, and the lawn did experience some improvement visually, but at this point the bare spots that were present the previous year have filled in completely with weeds, and that's at least 50% of the front yard.
The last technician that came out actually told us all "we" had to do was fill in with some St. Augustine plugs, but as far as I am concerned, that's why we pay for a service. If Safari had offered a quote for this, we likely would've agreed for Safari to do it, and then we likely would have signed up for the monthly service for another year to see progress.
Thank you for taking the time to type your response, but we did in fact follow all of Safari's recommendations and instructions to the letter, and it's disgraceful (and easy) to blame the homeowner. It does, however, validate the decision to move on from your services. Original review: We purchased our home in July 2020, and it had, at the time the most incredible, lush lawn in both front and back yards.
We had few, if any, weeds and realized that if we wanted to keep it that way, we'd have to hire a lawn & pest control service. After careful research, we had 4 different companies, based on online reviews, out to provide information. Of the four, we chose Safari. The man who came out to give the quote, David, said that our yard was in such great shape that he recommended bi-monthly service, so we agreed to that and service began mid October.
By Christmas, of course, all lawns went dormant and started to perk back up around February. We became concerned because most of our front yard was not greening back up. We called Safari and they sent out the Field supervisor for our area, Jonathan. Jonathan agreed that something was wrong with the yard, which was also now completely overtaken with weeds, front & back.
He assured us that it wasn't chinch bugs, and assured us Safari was going to be aggressive and proactive and do whatever was necessary to get our lawn looking good. Throughout the summer Safari was coming out monthly with tons of chemicals and fertilizers, at no extra charges aside from our regular bi-monthly invoices. At one point, even burning the yard from the fertilizer. Jonathan kept reassuring us that the yard would come back, and it did fill in, but it filled in with weeds.
We got through another winter and in March 2022 called Jonathan yet again to address the state of the lawn as it was coming out of its winter slumber. Jonathan felt that the yard was in good shape, but admitted there were still spots to work on. Then he audacity to say that we were "only on a bimonthly plan, so they could only do so much". They treated the lawn again with weed & feed, and at that time the tech mentioned that "we" should go buy grass plugs for the dead spots.
When we called to cancel service, we had to wait for a call back from Jonathan. Jonathan called to confirm our cancelation with absolutely no suggestion, consolation, or attempt to maintain our business. We handed them a nearly perfect yard, and they've pretty much destroyed it. They should fix it, but since they're not fixing it, we've canceled their services and hope to use the money we've been paying them to fix it ourselves.

Service is poor and customer service even worse. Many spots and weeds in yard. When asked why, they said I needed to upgrade service to fix along with putting dirt on top. After doing so, they never checked back to ensure it was fine. In fact, it looked even worse. I called to cancel and they were worse than dealing with Comcast. They said it was my fault even though I've paid, upgraded, spent time and additional money on my own part. I canceled and highly suggest you DO NOT use them for exterior service.

Enjoyed this company for more than a dozen years. Recently terminated my long relationship due to poor service and lack of attention to detail. For many years they treated my lawn for pests and weeds and fertilized. My family often was awarded lawn of the month. For several months now my lawn has been dying. After several calls from me and attempts at intervention on their part, a supervisor came out and determined that my lawn was dying because of compressed soil and there was no service offered by them to save the lawn.
They acknowledge that their technicians who service monthly should have noted the problem but failed to do so. That acknowledgment was followed by the dismissal, "Even when we tell someone they have this problem they don't fix it." Spare yourself the disappointment.

Thanks to Safari for their speedy response to address my lawn problem. One side of my lawn was dying at an alarming rate. They sent Nick, the service and lawn technician. Nick was courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable. He showed me where the spider worms were eating and killing my grass. The most eye opening was that he actually found the worn to show me. He immediately applied the product to get rid of the worms. This was a unique and educational experience. Thank you Nick and the Safari organization. Barry B.

I have had 2 other Lawn Pest control companies, each of those companies have either destroyed my lawn or couldn't get rid of dollar weeds after a 6 monthly applications. I have a friend that use to be an exective in the industry before changing industries and he told me Safari is the best in the St Augustine area. I tried them and they are the best!
They have the best communication, customer satisfaction and they do exactly what they say! They got rid of my dollar weeds on their first application! Would highly recommend!

DO NOT USE THEM! I had this company treat my lawn at a previous home. They did a good job, so I hired them again for my new home. WOW, they have taken a turn for the worst. They came out to spray the dollar weed in the back yard. A rep called me and asked how the service was. I told him I still had weeds. They sent out a tech to spray the yard again, but he didn't.
They waited till the next month's service to spray, and killed my yard were they sprayed. They gave me a bunch of BS excuses. Then they fertilized the yard, now i have a ton of fungus. To top it off, i still have dead spots!

Safari Termite and Pest Control is the WORST company we have ever dealt with! They were spraying the yard and made a mistake and tried to fix it. Months later still looks terrible. Said I would not have to pay my bill until I was satisfied. Still not satisfied and now they want me to pay because I canceled my service. I would never do business with them again and encourage anyone who cares about customer service and a good-looking yard to STAY AWAY.

So the pictures of my yard I have heard different concerns for all the reasons why it's in bad shape. Chinch bugs, the fungus, and now root rot. The lawn techs are obviously not qualified and trained properly on how to diagnose an issue with the lawn. For the past 6 months it has been treated for different things and yet it looks very bad. Now that I have called to confront them it seems excuses are the best answer. Moving on I have a few wasp nest along the roof area that need removal since it hasn't been done in over 3 months and the manager came out only to remove the biggest nest and not the little ones.
When he show me that his rounded pole could not reach the under part of the roof, I kindly showed him that a flat and sharp object should do the trick! After Safari has proven how worthless they are, my last question for the tech was why hasn't anyone stated this on the door flyer about your concerns instead of saying " WATER AFTER 24 HOURS." His reply was simple, techs now a days don't know $*#!
I really hope they respond to this review with some solid photo evidence about my situation because another written excuse at this point is only showing that you simple don't care. Safari Termite And Pity Control who would you recommend for the best pest control company other than yourselves? This long review basically states to stay the hell out of their way.

Not happy at all with this company and cancelled their service after a year! My yard is full of weeds and insects. I have complained several times and they always have an answer, but nothing ever changes! I watched the technician through my window mix over 10 products in the tank and never measured one. He also could not get one of the bottles open so he just skipped it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! its a waste of money!
Each time I complained and pointed out issues and said I was going to cancel my service they just transferred me to someone that tried to talk me into staying. My yard is infested with Chinch bugs and Sod Web Worms as well as weeds.> They did nothing about it. I withled payment to see what they were going to do, and nothing!

I have lived in the Jacksonville/St. Augustine area for 16 years. I have hired, and fired, almost every other pest control company because they have never been able to keep my yard looking great. Safari is the first company that seems to analyze MY yard and MY soil conditions to know what MY yard needs.

We have used Safari Termite & Pest Control for years and we are so pleased with their service. They do a fantastic job. Anytime we have had a bug issue they come promptly and take care of it. Just recently we had a wasp problem and they addressed it immediately without billing us an additional charge.
