Smart Remodeling

This company was unresponsive to emails sent to set up an appointment. I did call and they finally called me back, but the lady on the phone said I couldn't call her back because her phone only made calls not received them. That seems like a red flag for a business. I went ahead and set up an appointment and she said they would call me on Friday. No call on Friday but I assumed they were busy. Saturday rolls around.

The contractor was supposed to be here between 3:00 and 4:00, I waited until 6:00 before giving up and realizing they weren't going to show. Maybe they had an emergency, like one of the other review responses said, but I blocked out my time on Mother's Day weekend to wait for him. It seems rude not to call beforehand. Disappointed.

I was thrilled to find Smart Remodeling after several bad experiences with other contractors. This is the second time I've had them do a bathroom remodel, since I was so pleased with their first job. I'm on the opposite (northwest) side of Houston but they worked our job without issue. Hani (general contractor) is honest and professional, and good about communicating if schedules change or problems arise.

We used his crew M and V for most of the job - demolition, drywall, tile, painting, hardware installation, and finish work - and they were on-time and efficient every day. They cleaned up after themselves each day, which was important since we had a young baby around the house. We opted to buy our own materials and use Smart Remodeling for labor and misc. supplies like drywall, insulation, plumbing and electric.

I've actually never been to their storefront to know what they offer, but since we knew exactly what we wanted it was easy for us to separate labor costs from material markups and buy our own stuff. The typical payment structure is 50% upfront, then 20% halfway, 20% at the end, and the final 5% after all minor details are complete. We wrote up a detailed bullet list contract up front and agreed on a price beforehand and I didn't get any price surprises at the end.

I'd recommend making your quote request as detailed as possible so you both have the same expectations. Overall really happy with how things turned out, and would be glad to have them do our next remodel.

After having some issues with getting a quote, Hani and Dana were quick to respond and get my contract underway. They are very organized and informative. I will update this review with the progress later.

Smart Remodeling just finished installing new quartz countertops in our kitchen and bathrooms and they did a fantastic job. Hanni and Lacy gave us some great suggestions on which countertops would look best with our existing cabinets. Once we decided on our countertops and signed the contract, the work started the on the exact day we requested. The countertop, plumbing and tile people all arrived on time and did very professional work. Hanni came by while the job was in progress and after it was completed to make sure we were completely satisfied with the quality of the work. I highly recommend Smart Remodeling for your home improvement projects because they do great work and are trustworthy.

I have done a lot of projects in the past. I have not had a better, most efficient and most professional experience than deal with Smart Remodeling. They are by far the best in town. I feel trust is very important in these remodeling projects because you always want someone who knows what they are doing and looking out for your property as their own.

Everything from the owner of the company giving you honest advice to labor workers pointing out issues to take care of instead of ignoring and just completing the job. They were there for me so quickly and completed the job so efficiently that I will always recommend them to anyone I know!

I recently hired Smart Remodeling & Design Inc. to renovate my kitchen. Joseph did a great job, the design as well as the construction were done to my full satisfaction. There was so much to do there, they even redo my old plumbing and rewire the kitchen.
