Amazing service and work. Al and his team removed an existing attic ladder and installed a new scissor ladder in a different location for us. They handled both the electrical and structural issues with ease and professional. They also kept the work area really well contained so our 3yr old wouldn't get affected by the work. They finished on time and it looks and works great. Would highly recommend.

We hired Al's remodeling to remove an existing attic/loft ladder and to install a new scissor ladder. Al and his team did a fabulous job in containing the construction dust, finishing on time, and factoring possible complications like hidden wiring and structural deviations. We hired Al to complete a fairly extensive repair job in the crawl space of our century-old house. There was accumulated damage in the wood of the substructure due to termites, beetles, and rot. Al replaced the entirety of the wood along the perimeter wall, added earthquake bolting, and installed a sump pump with drain to help prevent future moisture related damage.

There were many obstacles with this job since the crawl space was cramped, muddy, littered with garbage from previous owners, and had inconvenient placement of plumbing and electrical wiring. Al seemed to be able to handle pretty much whatever was thrown at him. He was very professional and good with communicating throughout all stages of the job. I also appreciate how he left a generally clean worksite and finished ahead of schedule.

Hired Al's Remodeling to do some carpentry/stucco work. Project completed without any issues. Al is actively involved in the project and makes sure project completed to your satisfaction. I would hire Al's remodeling again and recommend.

I got 3 quotes for converting my garage into an ADU and Al had the best price as well as agreeing to do things the way I wanted and pass inspection. He was courteous and cheerful throughout the project, arriving early and often staying late to get details just right. He created some amazing cabinets and a closet which is spectacular. He worked diligently on some difficult and confusing wiring, making sure everything came out right in the end. I'm very happy with his work.

Al's very knowledgeable and great communicator. I used his help for an exterior stair and inspection. I look forward to working with him in future projects again

If you want somebody who doesn't believe in COVID to remodel your house, hire Al. If you want somebody who thinks COVID is a hoax, hire Al. Make sure you want this guy who doesn't wear masks and doesn't believe in covid WORKING IN YOUR HOME with your loved ones.

Al is a rare find among contractors: kind, honest, generous and very sensitive to client needs. He did a great job with our ever-changing project scope and our home renovation turned out wonderfully.

The work done to my house by Al's Remodeling was amazing. This group of professionals totally changed the aspect of my house for better. We first chose to remodel the whole basement and this created additional space inside. We chose to remodel the back yard as well so we can now enjoy the beautiful summer days that have arrived.

I booked an appointment with Michelle (who answers the phone) for 11:00am on a Monday. She said she would confirm the appointment with me on Sunday (the day before the appointment). I did not get a call on Sunday to confirm, so Monday morning, I called her to make sure the appointment is confirmed. She LIED and told me "I called on Sunday to confirm but never heard back from you".

I had given her my cell phone, which is on me 24/7, and plus I never got a missed call. I stayed home on Monday morning for this appointment only to find out that they had cancelled it! 0 stars!

Al was fantastic! He was such a pleasure to work with - very responsive and accommodating with my busy schedule. He did a wonderful job fixing a leak in my shower and also remounting an entire cabinet in my bathroom. Plus he fixed a mirror in the hallway. I highly recommend using his services, I will certainly call him again if I need anything done in my home.

We got his name from Home Depot and the two stars is for his quickness for initially getting back to us quick. Unfortunately, the communication and dropped off after that. Called Al a few days ago for a doornob lock replacement. He said that he would fit us in on Monday, after his first job, with an estimated time around around noon. Noon came and went, and so did 1:30pm.

We called to see if he was still coming, and he said yes, and promised to call when he was done. A little less than four hours later, we called for an update yet again, and he said he was just leaving. After thinking for a few moments, I called him back to say that since there was such a lack of communication, that we were going with someone else.

I enjoy giving the benefit of the doubt, but when there is an appointment and estimated time of arrival, and failure to show or even give a status update, it is easy to get a feeling how the rest of the interaction will pan out. Hopefully, this review will help Al's communication with his customer base, and realize that communication is vital to customer service.

Al Zapien of Al's Remodeling San Francisco had stopped by to give us an estimate on home repairs. He was straight-shooting in letting us know how our immediate issues could be handled as do-it-yourself-projects. Another contractor estimated $1000+ for the same issues. He also spent 10-15 min. repairing a closet-mirror-track-door at no charge to us.

We especially appreciated this since this was a potential hazard in our baby's room! Finally, he offered reasonable advice on bathroom remodeling options at different price ranges; rather than trying to sell us on the most expensive options. We'll definitely be contacting his company again when we move forward with our bathroom remodeling project!
