Gilmans Kitchens & Baths

Just wanted to pass on to others the great experience I had working with Ron W. @ Gilman's in San Francisco. He was able to design a modern kitchen to fit seamlessly into my 1925 Edwardian home. Ron was able to develop creative solutions for my kitchen - such as a under cabinet parking space for my Miele robot vacuum and a dishwasher to cutlery drawer set-up in the isle. The kitchen now looks much bigger then before due to the overall design and selection of the cabinetry!

Honestly, I wanted to like this place. We were starting our kitchen cabinets journey and learned a lot from our conversation with Ron. Imagine all the accessories you ever saw on Pinterest and it's here in the showroom. We spent an hour talking about cabinets and thought we were in good hands. I sincerely enjoyed our conversation! However. following our appointment, we emailed our kitchen layout and appliances to Ron.

No response. Followed up 3 days later and CC'd their general email address. No response. I was giving them the benefit of doubt that maybe something wasn't working. Followed up again once more 7 days after the original email. No. Response. Not a yes, not a no. Just silence. I get it that there's probably a lot of remodeling happening right now but I'd appreciate and expect a response from an established business, even if it's a "we have too long of a backlog right now and can't take on more projects." My partner's mom got her cabinets from here 25 years ago and I expect better. That's unfortunate. We'll spend our money elsewhere.

Gilman kitchens and baths is an excellent store that provides quality products and advise about re-designing your kitchen and bath. The expertise is excellent and their product is high quality. They also have a handyperson to help fix anything that goes wrong. If you need a new kitchen and/or bath this is the place to go. There is a screen department at this store which is excellent.

Great showroom with very knowledgeable designers. I remodeled my kitchen and 2 baths with Gilmans and couldn't be happier with the design and quality of products. I always try and support local family owned business' and Gilmans is exactly that! Service: Remodeling

I used Gilmans for a remodel of an out of date master bathroom in our condo in San Francisco, replacing everything in it, but especially changing out a tub for a walk-in shower. Key to our decision to us them was that our primary residence is 200 miles away so we would be monitoring the project remotely. I was attracted to their range of services, including a project portal, project supervisor, design consultant, and project photos, as well as the quality of their work (viewing past reviews and project pictures).

While their quote was higher than most, I was not at all disappointed in the outcome, especially the tile work which was tricky to install since the tiles chosen for the shower wall were small triangles of different 3-D surfaces. I would highly recommend them and thoroughly enjoyed working with Trisha and Rick P.

Maybe it is complacency or the high demand for contractors in SF. But they don't accept credit cards online or over the phone. They have difficulty making commitments and estimating timelines. And the prices are likely much higher than others, but they don't offer service to off-set those costs. I won't be using them again. Though our cabinets do look nice though here is a photo from when we had another installer put them in and he found that the pulls that had been ordered did not fit.

They were supposed to be installed by Gilman and they failed to show up. This is just basic stuff. Come when you say you'll come, order the correct materials, and make it simple to pay for them. In all categories Gilman's failed. I thought I was paying more for good service and a simple job. I paid more for a major headache.

I've worked with Gilmans Kitchens and Baths in a professional capacity for nearly 10 years now. Their level of service, and quality of designer, is a 5 out of 5. In my opinion this is the greatest asset of any kitchen and bath company. The products they sell are of the highest quality and they take the time to pair your needs with the product that will offer the best value for your budget.

Their attention to detail is crucial to keeping your project on time and on budget. Howard Gallas is a designer that is relatively new to Gilmans and fits right in with all the designers there. In the relatively short time he has been there (just under a year) I have seen his experienced design eye and creative approach to problem solving, help several clients get the kitchen/bath of their dreams. He is just an example of the type of service and design expertise you can expect to get from all the designers that work there.
