Solid hardwood floors come in a wide range of dimensions and woods. Oak, Maple, Cherry, Mahogany and Walnut are just a few of the many hardwoods that we work with. Plank sizes range from the most common width of 2 ¼" all the way up to 8 ¼" wide planks. Planks 4" wide and up need special installation, they must be glued and nailed.

Recoating

Buffing and recoating can be used as a form of maintenance for hardwood floors to refresh the finish or protect high traffic areas. Buffing cleans the top layer of finish and can remove scratches that are in the surface of the finish. Many landlords choose to buff and recoat hardwood flooring whenever a tenant moves out, as this quickly and easily gives a shiny new finish to floors.

Many people do not know that even hardwood flooring that has been covered by carpet for years or that looks to be in a horrible state can usually be refinished instead of being replaced, to look almost new and give a home a more elegant and clean finish.

Laminate

Laminate flooring is a wood composite with a screened picture of flooring on top that mimics the look of wood. Unlike engineered flooring, laminate flooring cannot be refinished and does not contain any real hardwood. Laminate flooring has a low price, quick and easy installation, and is very low maintenance.

Eco friendly flooring is becoming very popular right now as people are becoming more concerned about the environment. Options for eco friendly flooring range from using sustainable woods such as bamboo, to using hardwoods that come through specific retailers that guarantee that the chain of production doesn't hurt the environment.

Engineered

Engineered flooring differs from traditional hardwood flooring in that it is planks which are composed of wood particles with a layer of hardwood flooring on top. One of the advantages of engineered flooring is that is very convenient as the wood comes sanded at stained.

We had been wanting to get our floor refinished even before we moved into our new home. Randomly picked another company from Yelp and long story short, it was a disaster. Finally we got a referral from our long time friend who works in the interior design and remodeling business and she highly recommended Lukasz at Stanley Flooring.
