Modern Quality Flooring

I am renovating a condo here in Chicago and needed new hardwood floors. I received a few different quotes from companies in the area, but Danny blew them all out of the water. This is the first renovation that I have done and one thing that I've learned is that you don't know what you don't know. Danny came in and immediately started giving solutions/options to some of the issues I was having and even pointing out things that I wasn't aware of.

He was very responsive and his team was extremely efficient and professional while installing the new hardwood floors. They look absolutely incredible and I couldn't of asked for a better experience.

We worked with Modern Quality to install new hardwood floors in 3 rooms, and refinish existing floors in adjacent rooms. Danny was very responsive right from the initial contact, he talked to us about what we wanted, discussed options (he had some great suggestions), and came up with a plan to suit our needs. The work started and finished on time. Danny walked us through the process, further discussed the finer details, and gave us options on final stains (he stained a small section of our floor to show us how it would look prior to deciding on final stain).

The end result was amazing, exactly what we wanted and you could not tell our old floors vs. the newly installed floors. Danny also talked us through how to take care of our floors at the end. So, they did a truly great job on the floors, but they did more than that. Prior to staining they went and closed all of our upstairs doors to limit the fumes going to those rooms, but one room door would not stay closed, they fixed that (wow!). Also, we have an old bar for our back door, they noticed that it was not in great shape, and they cut out a new one for us from the remaining floor materials.

They did not need to do any of that, nor were they asked to, but they just did. Just awesome that they cared enough about the house they were working on to go above and beyond expectations. Great crew and would not hesitate to work with them again.

My wife and I worked with Modern Quality Flooring to refinish our floors in Rogers Park. The price for the job was very fair and the results were incredible, and completely transformed our floors and home. Danny was very communicative, letting us know what to expect from start to finish, and how to best care for our beautiful new floors in the years to come. I can't recommend Modern Quality Flooring enough for any flooring needs. They went above and beyond to get the hardwood job done thoroughly and correctly, including all of the minor details and thoroughly cleaning everything and leaving the site in optimal condition along with detailed care instructions. Their pricing is very competitive and the service is great! If we ever have any future flooring needs, Danny & Modern Quality will be our first and only call.

I would absolutely recommend Modern Quality Flooring! Danny was professional and reasonable. I appreciated how detail oriented he was and the time he took to answer questions and explain things. They removed carpet, installed hardwood flooring, sanded existing floors and stairs and stained. My floors are beautiful and they did a great job cleaning up!

This is the REAL DEAL! Danny provided an excellent estimate for sanding/refinishing the flooring of our newly purchased single family home, and the amount didn't change when the job was completed (i.e., no inflation of price, do hidden costs, no BS). I had to reschedule our initial start date and Danny was cordial and flexible with this change. He said he would show us several staining options so that we could make a more informed decision, and he offered many excellent suggestions in terms of staining for our multi-wooded flooring (three different wood types).

He explained every detail involved with each choice. We went with his highly informed recommendations and could not have been happier with the result. Danny also worked hard to evenly match up the different woods across rooms to avoid installing thresholds. This requires skill and more effort. Danny went the extra distance in this respect because he knew I have a physical disability that challenges my gait (and thus challenge my ability to pass over thresholds). Wow, how thoughtful!

The crew showed up 10 minutes early and got to work immediately. We had a small area of flooring (linoleum covering a rotted floor) that needed replacement but you would never suspected this because this section of the floor flowed perfectly with the other floors. In all, the various woods in our flooring look uniformly beautiful. I don't know how he got into the nooks and crannies (and closets) but he did! Lastly, I mentioned to Danny that I needed the roof of my garage repaired (two leaks in the roof) and he had someone repair this in only a couple days at a most reasonable price. Quality, dependability, competitive pricing, and the feeling that someone is working as hard as I do are characteristic of Modern Quality Flooring. Danny has proved himself as a person of integrity, honor, dependability, and excellent craftsmanship. I look forward to working with him in future home improvement projects. Thanks, Danny!

We're glad to have chosen Modern Quality Flooring to refinish stairs and several rooms of hardwood flooring. Danny and his crew couldn't have done a better job. Their guidance on stain, finish and cleaning tips were fantastic. They were very professional, timely, trustworthy, easy to work with and at a fair price too. When the job was completed, we were pleasantly surprised that there was virtually no sign of dust. We even intend to have them return soon to refinish another area of the house.

Last week I hired Danny and his team to refinish and stain wood flooring in a recent house purchase. The service and quality of work from beginning to end is superb. The stain was custom by Danny, because I was torn between two colors. They are gorgeous floors! I have received many compliments already and couldn't be more pleased. My experience has been poor, Danny called me over a week ago and at that time he stated he would call me back so we could set up an appointment for estimate and explanation of work project. It is going on two week and Danny has not called me nor contact me in any form. Very disappointed with this.

It was a pleasure working with Danny at Modern Quality Flooring from start to finish. After speaking with several flooring companies, I could tell he was the best fit for us. Honest, reasonable, thorough, experienced, flexible, professional and responsive. I'm a repeat customer, so this is my second review of Modern Quality Flooring. Danny met me at our new condo in Oak Park right after our closing, and gave us several great options for our new bedroom floors. He took extra effort to give me 4 different estimates for each of the options. While he was measuring the rooms, he also pointed out an electrical outlet issue that I hadn't seen!

His team did a fantastic job throughout! They neatly and efficiently removed all the old nasty carpeting, installed the soundproofing layer, the engineered oak flooring, and all the baseboards and thresholds. They were so patient and considerate while I had 2 electricians working on the same day (not exactly ideal, but couldn't be avoided). The most impressive thing to me was their attention to detail and quality work. Even the baseboards were neatly cut to fit around the old radiator covers perfectly. They also do kitchens and other jobs, and I plan to call Danny again for future work.

I absolutely love the floors that modern quality flooring installed. They did an excellent job! the finish work is impeccable. They got the entire thing done within three days including carpet removal. The floor is so beautiful and changes the entire look of my house -and they cleaned after completely I was ready to immediately start living a new fabulous life! Cannot recommend highly enough :-

Danny sanded and refinished the floors in my condo. The floors look great and we get lots of compliments from visitors about them. Will definitely use him for any future flooring projects.

I've truly never had a better service experience. Danny treated me and my husband like family and he treated the work on our house as if it was his own. He came out for measurements and a quote on Monday for refinishing and restaining our hardwood floors, and his crew was able to start work on Thursday (even earlier than initially anticipated).

They completed the job in less than a week! Danny is a true professional, he pays attention to details like changing out floor vents to match the new floor and feel more modern as well as ensuring the baseboards are flush against the floor. He offered and showed us many different stains and finishes and encouraged us to take our time with making the color choices.

His crew worked early mornings to late afternoon and left the house spotless, you would never say the entire floor of the house was sanded down. The finished floor looks incredible, Danny and his crew fixed some boards and imperfections and truly made it look incredible. They even took the time to move the kitchen appliances to ensure they refinished the floors under them in case we exchanged appliances in the future. Danny is prompt in his communication, he's knowledgeable about the work and the products, and his prices are very fair and much lower than other competitors that have quoted us.

He also took the time to educate us on cleaning products and floor care to keep the floors in great shape over the years. I'm posting before and after photos but they truly don't do the floor justice.

Danny and his team did a wonderful job again! We have an older home that needs a lot of work and updating, like most we don't have an endless supply of money and therefore need to plan, budget and update in stages. Danny has been great! He has been consultative along the way to ensure that the overall look I want is achieved and helps us plan for the future.

This last job he quoted well over a year a go, gave us a cost breakdown if we did a room at a time, all at once and knowing we were on a budget offered a suggestion to help us get "best bang for our buck". This round we had a custom outlet placed in the floor of my office, wood floor vent installed, curved stairway and a jagged stone wall that they needed to etch around and it came out beautifully (as expected).

This is the third time we have worked with Modern Quality Flooring and they continue to exceed my expectations. The team is fast, friendly and do fabulous work! I will continue to use them for future projects and refer them to all my friends and family.

Just had our floors done - beautiful! Company was great - here early morning which I really liked. Worked fast to get job complete so we can move things back. Smell was strong (which I knew upfront) yet died down pretty quick. Little to no mess on there part. Would recommend!

I am so happy we found Danny and his team at Modern Quality Flooring. We struggled for months working with Home Depot on a flooring and kitchen renovation project, and it never got off the ground. I started feeling hopeless. Then, I met Danny from Modern Quality Flooring! He was on-time for the estimate home visit, and within just a few days, provided the workup and how much it would cost.

We live in a 100-year-old apartment and previous owners had put two layers of ugly tile on top of hardwood flooring. We asked Danny and his crew to remove all of the additional layers so we can just get down to the bare hardwood and start refinishing it. On the day of the job, the Modern Quality Flooring crew arrived on-time, and they were incredibly respectful, hardworking and efficient.

As a bonus, after the *extremely* messy job was complete, they cleaned up so well that the kitchen looked cleaner than before the job even began. We are looking forward to using Danny and Modern Quality Flooring for the refinishing of the rest of our home, and I'll be sure to provide pictures once that's complete.

Modern Quality Flooring is an excellent company who we would recommend to anyone without hesitation. We discovered 50 year old parquet flooring under the carpets of our new house. Danny and his team removed the carpet, helped us choose a beautiful stain option, sanded, stained, and refinished the floors. The team cleaned up very thoroughly when the job was done, and the floors look amazing! Danny and the team were always very available, explaining what was going on during each step of the process and patiently answering all our questions.

We bought wood thresholds which they stained to match the floors in the rooms. We asked them not to install the thresholds because we were having carpet installed later in the summer. When the carpet installers (not Modern Quality Flooring) came, they would not install the wood thresholds. We gave Danny a call and he quickly sent someone over from his company to help finish the job the other company would not do! We are extremely satisfied with the work and professionalism of Modern Quality Flooring, and we recommend them to anyone needing to have flooring work done!

We bought a condo which requires some hardwood floor refinishing work. I literally spent 10+ hours researching online trying to find a good pro in our area. Danny came in very responsive to my inquiries and his pricing was very competitive. He explained the whole process to us in detail and finished the work nice and quick, earlier than planned so that we could move in without a delay.

The floor looks like brand new after the work! At the end, he walked me through the whole unit, explained all the things I should pay attention to. He even went into details of how to maintain, clean the hardwood floor. What's even better, recently, a heavy metal accidentally fell onto our floor and cause a deep dent. I contacted Danny (with very little hope actually) but he replied immediately and came in on a Saturday morning to have it fixed for free! Danny is super easy to work with once you get to know him and he is professional on what he is doing for sure! Will highly recommend him and his team to whoever needs floor work.

My partner and I just purchased a condo in Rogers Park and our floors needed some TLC and a refinishing! We contacted MQF for a quote and they were quick to provide us with a detailed quote. Danny took care to explain the process to us. We had some major cracks in our floor due to house settling issues and Danny and his team repaired it so well that I couldn't even notice where the crack was!

Work for our approximately 900 sqft condo took about 3 days. We especially appreciated the time Danny took to explain maintenance of the floors and being careful about the movers scuffing the floor! All in all, we were extremely satisfied with our "like brand new" floors! We will be recommending MQF to our friends and may go to them again to re-tile our bathrooms.

Danny and his crew were very professional and polite. They were there at the time he said they would arrive and they set up protective barriers so other rooms would not get dust in them. They had to repair several areas of the floor which had pet and water stains, and they did a very good job replacing the wood and making it look natural.

I have used Modern Quality Flooring for two projects at two houses. Both experiences were great! They did an amazing job on the floors, helped me with color selection, and avoided getting any stain on my white baseboards! They did the stair at one property and those came out amazing as well! I will continue to use Modern Quality Flooring for all of my hardwood refinishing needs. Daniel even worked around a last minute re-schedule due to tenant issues! Pricing was very good! Danny and his crew refurbished our kitchen and pantry wood floors. In addition to sanding, staining and putting on three finishing coats they removed the gouges, the scraps from the chairs, fixed nails that were not properly installed and moved a piece of wood that was not properly placed when the floor was originally installed.

I had to postpone several times and Danny was very flexible. He went to the effort to bring personally a sample of the wood to be used, so I could preview the color. He always returned calls quickly and answered questions quickly. He gave me very explicit details on what I needed to do to prepare. I over prepared, putting sheets over all the furniture in the adjoining room.

Danny and his crew were great! They patched and refinished all the hardwood floors in my apartment. Danny arrived on time for the initial appointment and when the work began each day. My wife and I were blown away with how well the floors came out. We had a pet stain in our living room from the previous owners. After Danny completed the floors we could not tell where the spot was prior.

Danny and his team at Modern Quality Flooring did a spectacular job on ripping up my old engineered flooring and installing beautiful hard wood floors. Although Danny ran into some snags with my condo association he was able to come up with a solution that pleased all parties.
