Elrod Fence

Crew worked hard and the fence, for the most part looks OK. However, they were supposed to put my fence gate swinging out, self closing to meet california code for swimming pools. They put my gate on backwards without a self closing mechanism even though i told the Project manager, Mike, before he gave me my quote and the field foreman. Instead of fixing the gate they offered to fix the 2nd gate, (my side yard has two gates before entering the back [rod iron]) because it would be "EASIER." I didnt pay for or sign up for "easier, " but i accepted just to get it done.

Two weeks went by and no one came to fix the gate, despite several attempts to get it done, but they had no problem cashing the check. I just fixed it myself because the pool inspector is coming soon. They also did not re attach any of the existing fences to the new fence instalation and it was left leaning and loose. Zero quality control or accountability. Im an industrial electrician and we would never let this happen with my contractor. My advice is do not hire this company. Their management and quality control are absolute trash. go with someone else, period.

I needed to repair a fence in a hurry, and I ended up at Elrod. I was charged 10 dollars a ft, and then they gave me a roll of used chain link fence. What a rip off! Stay away from this place. I don't recommend it.

What a great company. Brian went out of his way to stop by my home to help me solve my 10' wide vinyl gate problem, which had me literally in tears. I took his advice and now my gate is swinging without dragging. He spent at least 30 minutes with me knowing there was really nothing in it for him, out of the kindness of his heart. This is a company that wants to make you happy. God bless you, Brian.

Never sent me an estimate as they stated after coming to my residence to measure for a new fence. Wasted my time. I would not recommend this business.

I called this company days ago for an estimate for a wrought iron fence around a new build pool and a guy name mike just called back. I told mike I had already found another company and this guy starts going off calling me out my name. First of all I was a serious client and looking to get the work done right away and you're mad because I've hired someone else already because YOU took days to call a potential client back? The audacity, totally unprofessional and a clown.

They didn't have what I need. Due to covid & their supplier. But the owner, was very helpful with other distributors that maybe able to help me. Also on installation of the custom gate I was inquiring about

Horrible job! I understand that they are busy but if they can't take any new projects say so. Don't send out workers multiple times to complete a job. They sent 2 guys to install the chain link, then sent 2 different guys to install the gate that was missing a panel. One guy was really rude and walked away as I was asking when they would return to finish the gate.

They also used a cheap wheel and put in the rail wrong! I had to pay our motor installer to fix their mistakes and change the wheel. They finally came back after I already had my motor installed to add the missing panel and did a sloppy job. We should've gone with the company that did our side fence instead of trying to give this local company our business. Very disappointed!

Amazing customer service and end result was beyond my expectations! So nice to work with professionals who understand there product so that I don't have too. I changed my mind several times in the planning stages and Mike kindly worked with me every time. I had concerns during production that were immediately addressed and I found everything to be above par in the end.

The crews who came to do the work were professional and all clearly well trained and properly outfitted to do there job. Such a great experience I definitely would recommend and I will be doing more fencing projects with them sooner rather then latter. the Draft Horses at S&D Horseback Riding are living in safe solid beautiful area. This company sucks! They aren't reliable, Roy said we were scheduled to have a fence installed and we weren't. He personally came to measure and it was completely wrong. He ordered the wrong color for fencing. Don't do it! Look into other companies in The area. Maybe at one time this was a great company, but not anymore. Then we had a fence installed that they knew wasn't allowed in our area. The workers are great! I felt bad for them. I would have put zero stars but it won't let me, they don't deserve any.

We started with a quote given to us by Roy on 5/4/2020. He came to look at the property and discussed what was needed. Once we agreed the date to start installation was first the first week in June. Then a few days later it was 2nd week of June. After a week of the original quote we spoke with Roy to advise concrete will need to be broken on the retaining wall we share with the neighbors and he said it wouldn't be a problem but it would be an extra charge which we were fine with.

New quote given, Roy said he'd be out to our property 1 week prior to installation to make sure everything was good to go. 2nd week of June came and went. We had to call them since we haven't heard from Roy or anyone else at Elrod to ask exactly what day/time will they be here. Roy said it was now pushed to another week out. So now we're in the 3rd week of June.

Still no call, so we call again on June 17, and once again it was pushed out to the week of June 22nd. Roy said he'd call us Friday with a time. No call Friday. Monday morning at 8am we get a call from Roy the workers will be here at 9am. We said it was fine. Roy came we walked through the property again and he said it shouldn't be a problem again to what we were looking to do.

The workers came and by this time Roy had left. We talked to a Gustavo who said he couldn't start the work no one told him about the retaining wall. Gustavo said he called his boss and Roy to ask what to do. I said Roy said it was fine, Gustavo said Roy doesn't do the work we do and that Roy has done this before, that he's doesn't know about installing and that hopefully he'll get smarter but he's been doing installation for 35yrs and he knows more.

At this point we're frustrated. It's obvious between the workers there's no communication and it falls on the consumer. Gustavo and his workers left and said Roy or someone from Elrod will call us. We called Elrod, my husband talked to Roy and asked what was going on. It's been delayed so many weeks now. Roy said his boss said no and the workers can't do the the work because of the retaining wall.

My husband said you saw the wall when you quoted. Roy stated he didn't and the wall wasn't there before. Sounds pretty silly that we would deliberately build a wall all of a sudden. The professionalism is horrible. Communication is horrible. We were VERY patient and for someone to say they've been installing for 35yrs but now they don't want to do the work is very unethical.

We will be posting this review on any website we can. As a company who's been around for several years it is not ok to treat customers like this. You left us hanging Elrod after delaying so many weeks. Shame on you.

Got 4 quotes for a wrought iron fence and rolling gate, Chris came in with the lowest price and the fence looks grate. The installers did a great job.

Had a wooden fence & new gate installed yesterday. The workers, Art & Victor, were friendly & professional during the work being done. I recommend this company & also recommend asking for Art & Victor to do the work.

Elrod fence did an outstanding job. Thank you Chris for sending Tony out to tear out our chain link and install this beautiful vinyl fence. We are very pleased and will be having you do the other side of our property. They worked very hard and got this done in 1 day with 2 workers. Very impressive

VERY happy with Elrod Fence. They came out the same day I called to request a quote. Mike Chody was on time, professional and very helpful. They completed the job very quickly and it looks great. I called two other fence companies the same day I called Elrod and the other two never got back to me. Great job, great price! I highly recommend Elrod Fence.

WARNING! Elrod Fence = MIKE's Fencing. (Under one license, he uses 2 different business name) 1) Made written contract with a deposit, for fence installation. 2) He cashed out the deposit. 3) 12 hours before installation, he called me, and stated "I will be there tomorrow for installation". 4) Due to the short notice, I was not able to change my work schedule, so I asked him to reschedule. 5).

He refused to reschedule & stated ".leave the gate open. I prefer to work alone without owner's presence" in that manner. 6) He continued refusing reschedule in a hostile manner, and said "I will send you deposit back". He NEVER sent me the DEPOSIT BACK!

We have a 12foot wide gate for a motor home to enter our backyard. There was a wind storm and the hinges on one side were broken completely off. We had Elrod Fence fix the hinges and also replace the redwood. What an amazing job they did! The gates look wonderful! The job was clean and so well done. Be prepared to be patient they are very busy.

Good price but poor quality. Installation team left a mess of concrete from footings, fence is several inches above lowest point and they broke several sprinklers (of course they have a clause that they are not responsible for underground utilities, even thought the sprinklers they broke are above ground). Wish I would have spent a little extra for better quality or just done it myself.

The ladies in the front office are amazing! My husband sent me on a fools errand with my 8 month old to figure out a vinyl fence all on my own. I was so upset at how I was going to pull this off. Not only did the ladies help but they actually watched my son and played with him behind the desks so I could make decisions with a clear head. Then when I came back (again without my hubs) they took care of my son again so I could drive around back and get the truck loaded. They truly treated us like family! I highly recommend them! I worked with Mike Chody at Elrod twice -- once last summer for a section of fence blown down in my backyard and more recently, my front yard fence which was blown down. I received good prices and quality work both times, and Mike was always responsive within a couple of hours when I texted him with a question or concern.

Brian from Elrod Fence Co. was incredibly communicative from the start. After the initial phone call to gather a quote, Brian stayed in contact to let us know when he was coming by. When he arrived, he did a quick scan of our yard and listened to what we wanted to have done. We had an idea of what we wanted, but Brian was able to offer his professional advice to get us thinking of other options.

He provided us with three different quotes based on a few ideas. We ultimately went with his idea. Brian remained in contact to let us know when the workers would be coming to install Phase 1 of the fence. He kept in contact to let us know when Phase 2 of the fence would be installed. The communication was comforting and kept things on track. Brian's option ended up being the least expensive option and when I actually saw it, I was so glad we listened to him.

We LOVE our iron fence. We asked Brian to do some additional work that was not in the original quote. He indicated he could do it and provided the quote. We accepted the quote and requested to move forward with the work. When the work was completed, I was disappointed. The quality and workmanship wasn't the same as it was for our fence. I sent Brian an email with photos of the work and he was very apologetic and eager to remedy the situation.

He remedied the situation by coming back to our house and doing the work himself. Prior to coming to the house, again, he was very communicative regarding his schedule and timeline to be able to complete he work. The customer service levels were off the charts. We were so appreciative that our disappointment was taken to heart and a remedy was sought to regain customer satisfaction. Bottom line.we LOVE our fence and would not hesitate to recommend them to others or use their services again if we needed to.

Job was: replace an old chain link fence at a truck yard. They did an excellent job at a fair price. They missed the 5 star mark because there are some communication and scheduling issues that need to be worked on.
