The Hoover company was prompt in answering my call and scheduling an appointment for faucet repair and installation. Drew Parker arrived on time and I was kept updated by text of estimated arrival time. He was professional, informative and pleasant. Drew went over options, cost and time frame. Once materials were on location he installed and made sure everything was clean, working and that we were a satisfied customer. We were extremely pleased with everything from the first contact call to the completion of service. I would definitely use this company again.

I used Hoover to have my hot water heater replaced. They were professional and very kind, and I had an easy time setting up a visit over the phone to get a quote. Shout-out to the main office for being extra helpful each time I called. Prices are competitive and scheduling was easy. Plumbers Zach and Miles were great, thank you! Just installed so I can't comment on the long term, but I had a good experience. Would recommend!

I would highly recommend Hoover for your plumbing needs. Over the past few years, Dustin has come out to resolve various plumbing issues in our home. Each time, he has been completely friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and dedicated to ensuring our issue is resolved. We never felt that we are being pressured or sold into services we do not need, and in couple of instances the cost of our repair has come in less than the initial estimate. This is the exact opposite of our experience with other companies we have used in the past. We will continue to turn to Hoover for any future plumbing needs!

We had an issue with water leaking into our basement that looked like it was coming from a basement window. I thought it was from outside, but upon further inspection, I saw that it was dripping from the inside, and the ceiling joist above and to the left of the window was water stained. That area was just below the kitchen sink! (Cue the music from the shower scene in "Psycho"). Went back upstairs to the kitchen, and inspected the cupboard under the sink where we store our cleaning stuff for the kitchen, & cleared everything thing out and it was totally wet. Turned on the faucet, and in seconds water was leaking from the outlet PVC pipe of the garbage disposal unit & the trap. Turns out, that the vibration of the unit loosened that pipe. Dustin, from Hoover, explained to me that the pipe wasn't long enough.
He then explained the options, and he went about taking the old PVC pipes & traps out and placed new PVC/Traps on both sides (double sink), as we had agreed. So, if you're a home owner who's having plumbing issues, & can accept that plumbing is not your forte, call Hoover, & ask for Justin S. This young man knows his stuff, incredibly personable, takes the time to explain it in terms you'll understand, & fixes the issue in a professional & timely matter.
I was thinking that we'd have to do the whole egress window thing, which can run thousands of dollars, but Justin & Hoover saved us a ton of money! Awesome work Justin, & it was a pleasure gabbing with you. Oh, the "S" in "Justin S" stands for "Superman"! Can't thank you guys enough! Jeff & Christa!

Once again I had a very positive experience with Hoover. They're always on time, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Nathan got my furnace back up and running, plus he provided me with quotes to replace my furnace upon my request. I'll continue to use Hoover for all my heating and/or air conditioning needs. The thermostat in our home stopped working due to a cut wire in the basement. This unfortunate incident left us without a working thermostat and, therefore, no heat. We called Hoover Electric who installed our new furnace in March 2020. The technician arrived on time, was polite, and figured out the problem right away-he estimated the cost to be $600 which we approved- although thought the cost was extremely high.
He fixed the issue by installing a new wire between the thermostat and furnace. He finished the job in approximately two hours. With the cost being so high, we contacted the office supervisor and asked how 20 feet of wire and two hours labor could possibly cost $600? Scott called us back about our concern and he told us that a technician's time can cost up to $500/hour.
We researched online for the average cost/hour for this type of technician in our area and it ranges from $65-$120/hour. This is according to fixr.com and HomeGuide.com. There are other companies in our area. We will NOT choose Hoover Electric, in the future.

I needed to have a gas shut off valve installed behind my stove ahead of having a new one delivered. I had a company scheduled to do the work, but they had to cancel the day of the installation and the day before my appliance delivery. I called Hoover at about noon and they were able to schedule the installation that afternoon. The technician is arrived on time, was very professional, and efficient.
In addition to installing the gas the valve, he looked over the rest of the piping and pointed out a few things that I will need to keep an eye one and replace at some point. The cost of the repair was in line with what I expected, perhaps slightly lower. I was very happy with the entire experience and can say the customer service was superior.

I called Hoover electric this morning because my brother had lost all power to his entire house last night. He had a friend come over to install a dishwasher and somehow all of the power blew- even to the main circuit board. Hoover electric came out right away when I explained to them that my niece was on a ventilator and had to be moved out of the house because she had to have electricity so she could plug in. They are very friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend!

Our current system was performing poorly regardless of how many times we adjusted the vents, added in-line blowers, etc. Needless to say it was time for a change. I can perhaps be overly thorough and very detailed having an engineering background. Nevertheless, Hoover went out of their way to show me how the sizing calculations were done including additional support from the furnace / AC manufacturer.
Their professionalism was second to none. They took their time to explain what they were doing and never hesitated to answer any of my questions or concerns. After completion of the job, they walked me through the system, how to maintain it and left the workspace cleaner than when they arrived. If you have an older home, I would highly recommend their duct balancing service. Newer homes have sealed duct seams where as older homes do not.
With this service, they sealed every duct seam in my house then balanced every duct checking the flow rate at each location. I can honestly say it was well worth the money. Cold rooms are a thing of the past. Just waiting on the correct thermostat (no fault of Hoover's) for optimal performance. I would highly recommend them for all your installation and service needs.

If they'd just serviced our furnace like we called them out to do, I'd give them five stars. However, we had a 2.5-year-old furnace installed by another company, which had no appointments for a month, so my husband called Hoover to come out, because they were available the following week (something like that). Hoover showed up, did the inspection/service and told my husband our 2.5-year-old furnace was the wrong size for the house.
If we were lucky it might hang on a few years. As I was leaving work my husband called with the bad news. I put the phone on speaker and let him talk. He gave an explanation, then said our current furnace might last a year or two. By the time I got home I was a bit fried, said give us a quote in case we do decide to replace the thing. In the meantime I would contact the original company and have them take a look.
Before we left the Hoover guy told us his estimate for new furnaces (he gave several options) were good for 30 days, and we might be lucky and the existing furnace could last the winter. He also said prices might go up in the new year, so that was something to keep in mind. With covid and labor and supply shortages it sounded plausible. But we were tired and a bit shellshocked.
I did some research, asking around. Everyone seemed to indicate the furnace we had was the right size for our home. I called the original installer and had them came out. They ran some diagnostics and did a small patch job which should fix the error reading that came up. They also reminded us the furnace itself is still under warranty (even though the labor warranty had expired).
I don't know if the guy from Hoover was working under commission or if he was new and made some mistake in calculations. That he kept shortening the potential lifespan of our furnace was a red flag, however.

Sent person, Dustin, through contract by Home Depot & a 3rd party DRFtps. Com a property contractor Anil Pal calling selves water solutions advisor. The whole thing was a ripp. Dustin never took water heater apart, was too busy talking non stop. Looked 12. He wasnt even going to do a D&C he never sent actual quote just said $1600 for new water heater. Charged mom n me $281.00 and theres no hot water in a pandemic.
We had some hot water and now none. Dont go through them I'm reporting them and their services to the trade division whichever it is and more. And they screwed over a widow of veteran.

We needed a chain replaced on our toilet flushing mechanism. They charged us $270. The labor was about 20 minutes and the chain probably cost 5 cents. The technician was very nice and professional but when the work was completed, he explained what was done and it was clear we were grossly overcharged. We called the company and received no reasonable explanation for the cost. Very disappointing. EDIT: A few hours later.toilet doesn't flush. Yes, really.

Total rip off, not recommended. $60 just to provide estimate. Clog clearing option was ruled out. $379 estimate just to install the garbage disposal I purchased at Home Depot. Didn't use the service since it was total rip-off. Service technician ask questions such as did you take time off work, so you prefer to complete the repair today, how old is the house?, good house, .
These things shouldn't be the factor in repair cost. Total rip-off, very bad attitude. Called another plumber and fixed the garbage disposal for nominal cost $50. Even for installation the alternate plumber quoted just $125. Now I saved the installation cost $379 and returned the new Garbage disposal $259., total savings of $638. Good lesson, I'll never call Hoover. Save your time and money, don't call Hoover.

My hot water heater blew so I contacted Hoover and they came to my house to give me a quote for a new heater installation. SERIOUSLY overpriced. I got the job done through Lowes for a little more than 1/2 of what Hoover quoted me. They charged me 60 bucks for the visit and quote but no matter, I still saved a bunch of cash by NOT having them do the job.
Agree with Ted S's review below. Their pricing is totally non-transparent. I asked for a breakdown of water heater cost vs labor which the technician was unable to provide. Very happy with my decision to have my job done through Lowes instead.

I contacted Hoover via chat on their website on a very hot summer Fri at about 5:30 -5:45 PM with A/C compressor not working. I explained I have asthma and needed service that night. If no one was available, I would understand and keep looking but I needed an answer. "Gary" assured me I could get service that night and asked for my contact info and address.
Five (5) hours later I contacted the company via chat again asking why I hadn't been contacted yet and to confirm someone was still coming, I was informed they didn't have after hour service available. The woman was extremely apologetic for Gary's behavior but that was little help. If this "Gary" had just told me the truth, I would have continued to try to reach someone to repair my A/C. The company's website should also clearly state that they don't provide after-hours service. And Gary should be fired,

Extremely high, and non transparent pricing. Would not tell me how much was for parts and how much was labor. Would not give an hourly rate for labor, but I was billed $355.00 for three guys who could not figure out what was wrong, then lied about part availability. Wanted to charge me $2300 for a new breaker panel, I replaced a $125 breaker myself and fixed the problem.

Their prices are very high, found them through Home Depot. They said they are high because they guarantee everything but don't most business do that? Plus, they put in a hot water heater for us and put a huge company sticker on our furnace which we did not buy from or had serviced from them? I tried to peel it off and am still working on it. They also put their sticker on the Hot Water Tank but that is understandable. HWT is working fine, no complaints about actual service.

I wrote a bad review a few days ago regarding my overcharge quote for a Kohler kitchen faucet. Well, today I received a call from the General Manager, Marcus, and what a very pleasant surprise. He read the review and checked into the price and agreed it was high. With further checking with the tech, he realized that he quoted us the wrong brand of faucet.
And for our trouble, he is refunding the monies we paid for the service call. He explained the problem and apologized for the error. This means a lot to me and has renewed my faith in Hoover Electric. To take the trouble to make a phone call to me and then offer me a refund, shows they care about their customers and reputation. I thank them and will give them another chance. Kathy Spanos

Unbelievable. Typical cost to install a new outlet is $150. I've had this exact work done multiple times in the same home. Hoover charges $60 to come to the home with the promise that that charge would go toward the work. They then gave an estimate of $650 for a 10' run of cable for a new outlet off an existing line! This is criminal. The racket here is partner with Home Depot, go on as many calls as possible and do as little actual work as possible. If the work is agreed upon it is a 4x markup of what it should be. I will be filing a complaint.

I wish I could give zero stars. These people were subcontracted by the project manager. He tells me that he will never subcontract to them again. Where to start? Was it. --the damaged floor? --the burnt cabinet? --the inability to recognize which way water flows? --the inability to identify the main water shut-off valve? --the damage to a valve unrelated to the job at hand? --the helpful removal of spare parts without my permission? --the mess left behind?
There are so many things that went wrong that were caused by this company that I heartily recommend that you never, ever, ever use them for any job. If you find out that a contractor has subbed a job to them, refer the contractor to me and I will be happy to provide pictures and descriptions of the damage they caused.

Hoovers' service costs our outrageous. They are deceptively hiding the start-up costs from customers. You have to pay $89 before they will come to your house. When they come to the house and give you a final cost to pay. Your cost + $89.00. They charged total $355.00 for a simple replacement of hardware in toilet tank. Then they wanted to charge $3,000 for capping an outdoor spigget. We decided not to use them for the latter as the cost was just obscenely high. Unless you have a lot of money to burn, stay away from Hoover.

Michael M. came out this morning to repair a plugged kitchen drain. He ended cutting the pipe and rebuilding the clean out. He was friendly and professional and did a fantastic job. I'm giving this review 4-stars only because of price, which was a little more than I thought fair. The job took only about 30 minutes, and ran more than $250. But cost aside, the job was done well.

Had them out on a few occasions for HVAC, etc. Techs always seem competent and professional. had my furnace inspected- 79 bucks. Tech says all is good but need a new Pad (filter) for my whole house humidifier. Quoted 502 dollars. It's a 15 dollar filter at Lowe's! Ask how long it would take. " couple minutes". Are you kidding me! I was in such shock I just politely said no thanks I'll take care of it. Had a similar outrageous quote on replacing my water heater last from them last year.

I needed the pipe from my sump pump replaced. Pretty straightforward job. Maybe 1 to 2 hours of labor and approx. $20 to $30 in materials. I was happy with the professionalism of how they set up their appointments and notified me by text that Kevin the plumber was on his way. He looked things over and diagnosed the problem very quickly. He was very pleasant and courteous.
He told me that he would go out to his truck and formulate a quote for me. I had a figure of about $400 in my head. Kevin came back with a quote for $600. I was a a little taken aback by this quote, but decided that I wanted to get the repair over with, because I had sold the house and needed to get the repair done before closing. I told Kevin to go ahead with the work, and he told me that he would be back in two days to get it done.
This gave me time to think, and I decided that I was being ripped off. I called another plumber. He gave me the same diagnosis as Kevin, however his quote was $400 less than the quote from Kevin at Hoover. Needless to say I cancelled my appointment with Hoover. This is really unbelievable, because I am a returning customer. I've worked with Hoover twice before.
Apparently Hoover doesn't understand the the cost of customer acquisition or the 80-20 rule that I teach in my marketing classes. 80% of your business comes from 20% of your customers, and those 20% are your returning customers. Hoover just lost one member of their 20%.
