A&R Solar

Promptly responded to request for solar panel installation. Then, they followed up with phone call to explain why solar is not going to work well for our house. I was really impressed by their same-day analysis and clear "next steps" questionnaire. Unfortunately, we won't be getting panels, but I appreciate their initial effort.

We had our system installed by A&R end of April. Was originally scheduled for March. We had 0 communication from them until 3 hours before they showed up to install. Of course working from home, that required quickly re-arranging the next 3 days to accomadate their lack of communication. Install guys were great and thankfully did not follow the plan of sales guy (he had them going through roof for no reason).

System itself has been great, but again none of my follow up questions to them have been answered. Inspection from city is not done according to city. No final invoice for taxes. And our friends who referred them still didn't get their referral bonus. I understand the craziness of current demand, but it doesn't take that much effort to properly communicate with your customers.

A&R Solar were amazing. A different company installed our panels years ago. There was an issue with the panels, and the other company refused to come out to fix a problem, even though the panels were still under warranty. A&R Solar took on the job and were terrific. They problem solved and were solution oriented. It took a while to diagnose and fix the problem, but I am so grateful that they kept at it.

Mark Anderson showed me how to monitor the panels with an app, which was not available when we originally had the panels installed. Mark kept us updated and never forgot about us. I would highly recommend this company and can't say enough good things about them.

When I decided to install Solar Power on a building I was building on my property, I got several bids. A&R Solar was not the lowest bid, but I suspect that they were the lowest cost at the end of the project. Every aspect of the job was included in the bid. They scoped the location, made all the arrangements with my utility, talked through the pros and cons of battery storage on site, procured all the equipment and the system was working - producing power to the utility - on the date they had promised. Then, they determined that my electrical contractor had supplied equipment that they had scoped - so they gave me money back.

The project management was great, the installation was quick and easy. The best part was their communication throughout the project. I always knew what was happening - no surprises. That is substantially different than my other contractors, and a very pleasant bonus.

I contacted A&R Solar because I was interested in a home battery backup system. They suggested that I add rooftop solar panels. which would qualify the whole system for a federal income tax credit. They installed LG batteries and LG rooftop solar panels, which look great and work well. They were thorough and professional, and completed the job in a week. I am very happy with my system and would highly recommend A&R Solar to anyone who is interested in home solar power.

Recently had a photovoltaic solar system along with battery storage/back-up installed by A&R solar. The experience from start to finish was seamless. My wife and I took several months to do our research and determine if solar was a good investment for us, AND just which company would do the best job. We chose A&R solar-- and the results have been stunning. The plan for our house, it's orientation, and the addition of solar panels to our roof was done with exceptional care and workmanship. They also, at my request, installed a new expanded electrical panel to handle a planned change from gas to electric heat and hot water. AND, they installed a Tesla car charger in my garage.

All this was done with expert care and efficiency. We now have heat and hot water, in addition to lights supported by our 28 solar panels. I recently had a 20 KW solar installation at my house from A&R Solar. My experience was outstanding from beginning to end. Steve, my sales and design consultant, was very knowledgeable and answered many questions to help me design a system that was right for me. He had a no pressure approach and let me consider a lot of different options, and came out to do detailed analysis on my house and expected efficiency based on roof, tree cover, etc, which let me do detailed cost/benefit calculations.

They provided an estimate which was very competitively priced. Every promised appointment or email was on time and professional. The installers were top notch, and amazingly fast, and helpful to answer all the questions I had. Connor went above and beyond helping with a few additional requests during the install like helping me set up an energy monitoring system. They also have a referral bonus which is nice as I saw the work they did for a friend. I am looking forward to the benefits of the solar installation for the next 25+ years.

Well it all started when I was looking in to Solar about a year ago and trying to find the right company to do the the job right I met the sale Rep named George and he came out to do a site Survey on my house with some nice equipment and was able to give me detailed information about the site being 98 efficient for solar he the gave me three bids on what size system I want to go with so I pick going with 17.39 k system with 47 370 watts solar panel on the roof of my house The install was great and was up and running in 4 days the Installer really take the time to do a great job on the Install and they listen to your in put the system went on line Nov 14 2019 and was a year old on nov 14 2020 all I can say it was nice to see the power meter on a nice sunning day in July of 2020 the power meter going full backward revolution in 1.5 sec to this date life time of power is 20.18 MKH that is a lot and Co 2 emissions that I'm taken out of the world 20,238.55. LB saved so really think about going solar it work in Washington

I am pleased to amend my earlier (poor) rating. Let me explain. I was super happy with the process -- start to finish -- of having A&R install solar panels for us. The sales person was really knowledgeable and helpful, their price was fair, the project manager and install team were all great. Everything worked great for a year and then we ran into issues with the SolarEdge live monitoring.

I was not happy with the customer service support I received in trying to resolve this issue. To be fair, A&R was struggling with getting the help from Solar Edge that they needed. The issue is now resolved and I'm quite happy.

A&R provided a fantastic customer service experience from beginning to post-installation. They provided quick responses for our initial requests, assisted and explained every facet of the install, loan application, and dealing with SCL. Their installers were fast, polite, clean and kept us updated day to day, and one of their managers who lives in our neighborhood even stopped by the house a few weeks later to thank us for our business and ask if everything worked well.

A&R Solar installed a 5.9 kW grid-tied rooftop solar array for me in early 2017 using Itek panels and Bluefrog microinverters. I had quotes from 4 installers and A&R was able to do it for a lower price than the others while also having the best production guarantee. It turns out that I needed that guarantee because for some unknown reason my system produces about 15% less annual energy than A&R's guaranteed amount.

I am happy to report that A&R is honouring their production guarantee--they have paid out for both years' underproduction so far. Since their guarantee lasts for 10 years, I expect my investment to still pay off in the end.

We are excited to finally get solar and can't be happier to have gone with a company whose employees are passionate about their work. The process was seamless for our busy schedules with clear and timely communications via email, video meetings and electronic signing including referrals for loans. They were patient to look at different packages and modifications and detailed the pro's and con's for what's best for us not how to sell us the most expensive package.

They also set clear expectations for what's next in the process including interactions with loan companies and inspections. Each person we worked with were knowledgeable of their areas and thoughtful to ensure their work was the best for us, e.g. where to run network cable and conduits so they're least obtrusive. OK, I want to give major kudos for the electrician and installers for coming out on the week of the February snowstorm and still finishing on time!

Totally impressed with A&R. Here's the summary - great communication, organized, on time, and high quality systems. Before I made a buying decision I got at least half a dozen quotes and researched the hell out of solar. There's a lot more detail than just what panels or how many kWs to buy - design, roofing, racking, and inverter selection are all very important to the system.

Even if you don't care to become a solar geek, it's good to know A&R really cares about the details. Process wise it couldn't be easier - have them out for a quote, e-sign a few docs, have the PM out for a quick tour, and let the installers do their thing. Install started on schedule, ended half a day early, no surprises, and passed inspection first time.

The guys were super friendly too and took time to show me what they were doing which I enjoyed. As for cost A&R was actually far less than my highest quote and a bit above my low quotes. But they delivered more power with better design and brought more assurance with guarantees no one else matched. By the way my system will pay for itself in less than 8 years and save a quarter million pounds of CO2 over its life. Needless to say solar can be a big win-win.

I am in Love with the crew that did the solar installation on my home in Myrtle Point Oregon this week. It was awesome, the panels were up so fast and they are beautiful! The initial estimate was very thorough and detailed. Everyone I worked with at A&R throughout the process was polite, very willing to answer questions, and always concerned that my questions were answered. We were extremely pleased with clarity of the proposal, the quality of the installation, and the follow up by the company to make sure we have been happy with our system.

We are enjoying watching the online monitor letting us know how much we are saving by having the solar panels working for us right on our own roof! A & R is truly one of the best companies I have ever worked with. While I would encourage you to call the various other solar installers around Seattle, you don't have to call anyone other than A & R. Even A & R will tell you to talk to other installers probably because they know they are the best. We recently built a home that turned out to be a three plus year adventure in dealing with the most ridiculously unprofessional and least competent people this planet has to offer (contractors, installers, suppliers, city officials, HOA folks, bank personnel, etc.). EVERYONE at A & R was super helpful, efficient, professional, and worked really hard to make sure everything was right and right the first time. Willem in particular was out of this world.

A & R stuck with me for 18 plus months as we battled various problems with our HOA, roofer, contractor, and city to overcome numerous boundaries that were put up against us. Willem went out of this way to answer my numerous emails, phone calls, and showed up in person to HOA presentations and went to bat for us to get our solar system installed (he even gave me a ride home one day).

Now that it is up and running and we have negative power bills and I essentially have a solar powered electric car, I couldn't be happier. Please trust me that A & R is really that good. My initial meeting with 4 other installers was great. They are all personable people who will get you stoked about solar and do a great job of explaining the process.

A & R, however, will stay with you, continue to answer your questions, continue to fix your problems, and continue to help you through the ENTIRE process and then check up on you to make sure you are still happy. If the rest of the world's industries worked like A & R you would never doubt any product you've purchased. One last plug for Willem, our "sales" guy.

He does way more than sales (thus the quotes), and while everyone I spoke with at A & R was great, Willem knocked my socks off. Ask to have him involved if it's possible. Another reviewer mentioned that because of really advantageous tax credits and incentives from the federal and state governments and great loan rates from various lenders, solar is a no-brainer, and they are right.

There is really NO reason to not go solar. Your system will pay for itself and you are doing your part to decrease CO2 production. Invest now and you will benefit for many many more years to come. Energy prices are definitely not going to go down, however, the sun continues to be free. JUST DO IT and do it with A & R.

You guys are our future! We need to use solar power our planet will die if we don't!

If I could give A&R a 10 star Yelp rating, I would! My review is long overdue as we have had our system two years. First let me state that solar in Washington is the best kept secret around. Solar DOES work in Western Washington, and with the various state, federal and utility company incentives available, it is a 'no brainer' in my book. Frankly, I don't understand why every roof does not have a system installed.

That said, when you do make the decision to go solar, look no farther than A&R. Damien Durand first performed an assessment of the home and reviewed viable options for the system. I won't refer to Damien as a sales person as he did not push us to make a particular decision. In fact, we had spoken with three other solar installation companies, and went with A&R not based on price, but Damien's professionalism.

We chose a SunPower system, and when install day arrived, Andy Yatteau and his crew were top notch living by Mike Holmes motto 'Make It Right'. I'd worked in building trades years ago, and I am very particular about the work performed within my home. I had absolutely no reservations about the quality of the workmanship performed. When I did have a couple special requests during the installation, Andy was very accommodating and made it happen!

If you haven't guessed by now, I'm a huge fan, and I'll spread the word to whoever is willing to listen. I've even taken my 16oz A&R beer glasses to our area brew houses and filled them up with a favorite IPA. Cheers to A&R!

I can't say enough good things about A&R! From the first questions around options to the prompt and detailed proposal from Damien to the pre-install meeting and the actual installation, they were so professional and just phenomenal to work with. Joel, Andy, Chase, Ron, Peter, and Kristin - I'm probably forgetting a few names here - they were all fantastic too.

We also loved too that they're clearly in the business for the right reasons (it's always great working with Certified B Corps) - we need more folks (and PV panels) out there like them. We're slightly OCD too, and they were really great about accommodating requests around inverter placement and how the wires were run from the roof. Very disappointing experience with A & R's representative. Of the four different contractors we had come out, A & R was the only one that kept adding additional "requirements of their company" besides the actual product, including an engineering inspection certificate and reinforcement of our roof. The other three contractors were quite satisfied with the application area. We never received a quote from A & R, even after requesting one from them by e-mail, but we have received numerous ads from them via e-mail.

A&R Solar was one of the contractors we asked to bid on a solar project for our house. The representative was rude and the company was unwilling to do the project because we asked that they perform additional electrical work to upgrade our electrical breaker panel and remove unnecessary electrical equipment from prior installations.

A&R installed a 9.9KW system at our shop. We ran into some complications with loads and permits; Evan from A&R was great at working the issues and install was smooth. System has been live for several months and is right on the numbers.
