When it has been well-constructed and is properly maintained, a swimming pool can last for decades and still look great. Even the nicest pools, however, will eventually start to look outdated. If your pool's age is showing or you're not getting as much use as it could because it has seen better days-renovating your pool may be a great home improvement project for you to consider.

I really didn't want to post this review, but the service/support I've had from Pulliam after my build is sub par at best. I chose this company after being recommended from a neighbor. They said the company felt like family. However my experience has been different. A few weeks after my build I found a serious flaw w/the tile. On two occasions during a rain event, a brown "glue" like ooze was coming from behind my tile.
When it drys, it's very difficult to remove. I made a service call about the issue and no one returned my call for a week. Once I finally made contact, I was promised someone would come out and see what was happening. Guess what? No one showed when promised. A few days later, the people that installed my tile came and they simply wiped more grout along my tile and called that a fix. No, definitely not a fix!
A band aid maybe? I notified the company that wasn't going to work as a permanent fix because when it rains again, the ooze will happen. I was promised that company "management" would come out and take a look on a certain day. Do you think they showed up? A complete waste of my day/time. Oh, had an ongoing leak in my backyard that I told the builder about before laying down sod.
I was blown off about that too. They did come out to investigate that. Come to find out no one connected my overfill drain to the other water drainage so the line was left wide open to dump water into my yard. My pool itself looks decent but they sure act like they don't care about me after they have my money. YMMV, but I won't be recommending them to anyone else.

Wanted to wait until the entire process was finished and had some run time to be able to write a full review. My Replaster job started 3 years ago. I had an 18 year old pool with white plaster. I wanted to stay with the same white plaster even though Pulliam representative advised me to go with their quartzscape. The initial results of the replaster were very good however after about 2 months some weird stains started to show up. Anthony was my renovation specialist and was very responsive to the issue and did everything he could do to work with me on the problem.
It took some time and effort to diagnose the issue but in the end we discovered the issue was in the plaster application. Anthony worked with me to have the job redone with an upgrade to the quartzscape and we could not be happier. I do not think many companies would stand by their product the way Pallium did. They were not satisfied until I was satisfied. Thanks Anthony. Sorry it took so long to get around to writing this review.

We can't say enough good things about our experience with Pulliam pools. Carl did an amazing job designing our pool and turning our vision into reality, it was a true pleasure to work with him. Greg on the construction side was great also and communicated all the steps along the way. Highly recommend giving them a call if you are thinking of building a pool.

Pulliam built my pool in September 2021. The design and finished product is beautiful and the designer did a great job choosing the colors/materials. However, if I had it to do again I would NOT use Pulliam. The service, communication, and professionalism were poor from the start of the project through current service issues. The initial sales pitch was misleading on what to expect from the company and my build experience. I've tried to contact the owner and she has never returned my calls.
I had confidence in the company due to their longevity in the market, however after my experience, I don't know how they have survived in such a competitive industry with the poor customer service and below average product. I've had multiple service calls due to malfunctioning equipment and each time I'm told by the technician, "that wasn't done right". I'm still awaiting yet another service call for a leaking pump for 2 weeks now.
Given the numerous issues I've already had and the fact my pool is only 6 months old, I am very concerned about how the equipment will holdup and what future repair costs will be with their limited warranty. The finishings are bottom of the line- ie light, switches, skimmers, jets and system controls. This was my first pool to build and unfortunately a very poor experience.

We bought a pool from Pulliam in 1997 and it was everything you could want and so was Pulliam. Fast forward to 4 years ago and new house. We chose Pulliam to put it in because of our first experience. Before pool was finished there was a leak in the plumbing. Since then there have been 3 more. Including both skimmers. Their stance is our guarantee is up so too bad. I feel like a pool should last for longer than 4 years. This makes me so sad. They used to be fantastic. But we will never recommend them.

This is our time having a pool built. We were not sure which company to go with because there are so many to choose from. However, Pullium rose to the top of our list. Nick Farcity did an outstanding job walking us through the process. The guy comes across as very authentic and trustworthy. He hasn't changed since day one. Brian is overseeing the project. He's awesome and very responsive. I'm very pleased with Pullium and have recommended them to several neighbors.

For those who are looking at putting in a pool, I'd like to share my experience with Pulliam Pools. We looked at a few pool companies and narrowed it down to Pulliam Pools and Puryear Pools. Both had great designs and competitive costs, but what was our deciding factor was experience. Pulliam and Carl just couldn't be matched. From the beginning of the process to now a month since "startup", we couldn't be happier.
For a first time pool owner who was a bit nervous of this journey, this company put my mind at ease. Many of you know Carl Lamsfuss who was local to VOWs. From the day we met him until the day we broke ground, his expertise and professionalism is second to none. We had no idea what we wanted and left a lot of our expectations in his hands - and he delivered.
It was truly a pleasure to work with him on design, price and finalizations. Carl worked around our yard, easement and maximized our yard space with the rest of our yard to help create a well balanced oasis. Once the contract was signed and turned over to our project manager, I thought we might lose the professionalism we had with Carl. Let's face it, if you've dealt with construction project managers then you know how brash they can be.
Not with Pulliam Pools. Our project manager, Greg Gilbert, was such a blessing. From the day we broke ground until this last week, Greg was there night and day, highly communicative, and was there for us every step of the way. I'm of the opinion that if you treat folks well from the beginning, the same is returned. Not always, but most of the time. Greg was awesome to work with.
As far as construction goes, not a single major issue to report. The entire process was smooth, straight forward and always on time (we even had gunite 3 weeks early). As with any construction project, you'll always have minor fixes and adjustments, but with ours they were minor and fixed almost next day. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Extremely happy and would, without a doubt, recommend Pulliam Pools to all of you too. Thank you Pulliam Pools for an excellent experience.

Pulliam Pools did an outstanding job replacing our two pool pumps this summer, the main pump and the Polaris booster pump. They did exactly what they said they would do, at the price they quoted, when they promised. Exceptional service in a tough environment where everybody in North Texas needs to have some type of repair work done on their pool. Couldn't be more satisfied with the results. They are amazing.

Our family made an appointment for the week of 04/22/2021, but nobody came nor did they call to reschedule. Can't help but feel that we're being punished for buying our own repair parts following the 21' Texas Ice Storm! Not our fault that repair parts are half the price that Pulliam's charging. The point is that when you make an appointment, you expect a reliable business to keep it.
Pool owners should be able to contribute to their pool repair without fear of retaliation. Be careful when doing business with this company unless you don't mind being overcharged.

I called Pulliam Pools 4 different times to have someone come out and look at my pool for re-plaster estimate. NO ONE will return my call. Pulliam built our pool so I really wanted to use them to re-plaster our pool. I was told there is only one man who handles pool renovation. Guess I will start looking for another pool company. Very disappointed in Pulliam. I will think twice before I refer friends to them.

I called many times right after the last snow storm, left a few messages, filled out my information on the service request form on their page, talked a few times to the receptionist, and she said she doesn't have my information in her service request list, she would transfer my call to the service department, but they NEVER answer calls, nor call back when leaving a few messages, it was until I went personally to request their services, and finally someone came yesterday to take a look after almost two months of constantly calling and leaving messages, and he said is going to take at least another two weeks for the parts to arrive, not to mention that they took way too long to finish our swimming pool, they started in the middle of June and finished and the middle of October. I wouldn't recommend this swimming pool company. The only thing we're very happy about is the design though.

The staff at Pulliam is amazing! Commitment to quality and kind people. With demand so high for service right now. I would wait as long as long as needed for Pulliam. I have gone other routes before, that was pricey and Pulliam had to fix. And y'all, don't forget to thank your service people in all industries for helping you. It matters!

***long review but hope this helps prospective buyers*** TLDR - Pulliam is amazing and you will not be disappointed! Like you are probably doing now, I was very interested in putting an in ground gunite pool (and possibly spa) in my backyard to transform the backyard into an oasis. I scoured the internet for local builders in DFW and it was overwhelming.
There are so many. Not to mention, since COVID and a low interest rate environment pool demand has NEVER been higher. Where to start? Well I researched and did my due diligence on just about every builder in the area. From meeting with designers, to talking to their general contractors you name it I did it. I even had other builders say they could not meet with me since they were so busy.
I had a general idea of the design I wanted and a budget. I had heard of Pulliam from an old manager who used them 20 years ago and had nothing but great things to say so I called them up. I had a design meeting with Carl not even 2 weeks later (I knew they were busy/booked). Carl was fantastic. Couldn't ask for a better designer. He really listened to me and my girlfriend and the things we wanted and liked in a pool, while adhering to our budget.
He never put any pressure on us, and after sleeping/thinking on the decision and design we went ahead with signing the contract. He met with us virtually via webex to go over the design. We were blown away with the design, and he included details we would have never considered. He was accommodating to small changes here and there and presented the 3D design AND line item cost sheet in a clear and concise format.
We ended up adding a spa, a covered pergola area and an outdoor kitchen by seeing the total cost of each item and keeping it within the budget. Other builders wanted 10-25k more for a similar design. We even sourced some materials on our own, and Pulliam was more than accommodating in issuing a change order and installing our hand picked materials (tile, outdoor kitchen appliances).
The only issues in terms of delay was my HOA (they are awful) and waiting on their design approval. Pulliam handled all of the permitting through the city, utilities, and the HOA. The entire build process took about 10-12 weeks and that is with delays from weather (snow storm anyone?) and Hollidays. Greg, our general contractor was also excellent.
Like Carl, he was always responsive and available to communicate on any matter that arose (and there were small, normal construction issues here and there but nothing too crazy). The construction project had its share of challenges (my backyard is literal solid rock, and on a new home builder lot IE. small), Pulliam was able to overcome any obstacle or issue that arose with great transparency and we could not be happier.
I have already referred multiple friends to Pulliam and they are also happy with the process thus far. Thanks again Pulliam, and special thanks to Carl and Greg for making our backyard dreams come true! - very satisfied customers, Austin & Kerry

Pulliam built our pool. All of the spa jets leak, they told us to call a leak detection company. The heater wouldn't work in Feb and they replaced the main board. The heater wouldn't work in July of the same year, they told us they can't get parts for it. I found the part while the technician was still here and he said they won't work on it. You would be better served going elsewhere, Pulliam Pools has no pride in the work.

To preface, Pulliam Pools built my pool back in 2002. About a year ago, my original filtration system was beginning to show signs of it's age, with a few leaks, spa blower motor having gone out, and the system was no longer efficient by today's standards. I decided to completely renovate my filtration and heating system; to include a new DE filter, new electric motor, salt generation system, spa blower and control unit, and natural gas heater.
Naturally all of the plumbing would have to be replaced as well. I put out a general call for quotes to four Fort Worth pool builders/contractors, and much to my surprise (and delight) found that the original installers were still building and maintaining pools! Of the four, Pulliam also had the most competitive price for the job (four thousand dollars less than their nearest competitor) and they used top of the line Jandy products, replacing my original Hayward system.
Here is what really surprised me, though. Erik came to my home to visually inspect the system on Friday, January 31 and give me the hard quote. I called Pulliam customer service the next day, Saturday, February 1 to tell them I wanted to execute the work order. Erik called me back on Monday, February 3 to finalize a question that I had, and confirm that Pulliam had access to the property.
On Tuesday, February 4, I had an entirely new system plumbed, installed, tested, charged and operational by the time I got home from work. The footprint is much smaller than the original 2002 system, it's so much quieter, the Jandy JXI heater got my spa from 46 degrees to 100 degrees in under half an hour, and the layout is simply so much more aesthetically pleasing.
This install was also performed on one of the coldest/wettest days of the year. I'm honestly taken aback how smoothly this whole process has been, how simple Pulliam has made it, and how incredibly efficient and professional they've been in giving my pool (That they built nearly twenty years ago!) a face-lift for the next twenty years. Couldn't be happier.

Our pool is 20 years old. Had an update 10 years ago. We were looking for a "makeover" including a new deck and changing some features inside the pool. Got the standard 3 bids. One was too hot, one was too cool, and one was just right. We picked Pulliam because of their reputation for follow up and their renovation specialist Anthony Dursi. Anthony not only gave us a competitive estimate, but recommended options that gave us a better result under budget.
We got updates 2x a week on progress. Crews were nice guys, great workmanship, and cleaned up everything. Anyone can build a pool, but it's the details and service that count. Anthony was most concerned that were were happy and went the extra mile to ensure that. Never seen my wife so happy to stroke a check.;>

We interviewed 5 pool builders and Pulliam was the best and most thorough. Our designer James was great to work with and designed exactly what we wanted. Our construction supervisor Brian communicated promptly, kept us updated, and always let us know what was next in the process. We have had our pool for 8 months now and could not be happier. The 2 times we have called for minor issues they have responded immediately and with professionalism and courtesy.
Building a pool is a major investment and one that can be a complete nightmare if done poorly. Trust a company that has been in business for generations. We did and sleep well at night knowing we are in good hands.

We had a minor problem with our pool this week. Pulliam built our pool 2.5 years ago. I called them on Saturday and they had someone out on Monday. Our pool equipment was fixed under warranty no questions asked. Many companies try to delay/deny warranty work but Pulliam truly stands behind their product. The service team has been excellent dealing with.
Our minor repairs were done earlier then what they told us, correctly, and with a smile. Frank was our technician who worked hard to ensure we were happy. Chris, the GM came out to check on everything, and the entire company has followed through and exceeded our expectations. When you need Pulliam for service, it will be done quickly and with a smile.
Thanks for making the repair stress free. If anyone asked why I built a pool with Pulliam, I always tell them it's because of the service commitment. If I ever build a pool again, I will be using Pulliam!

Pulliam Pools did a phenomenal job building our pool while our new home was under construction. Once we were moved in, they promptly and professionally took care of our punch list. Whenever we've had questions, they've been quick to answer them and their service department is great. Our family highly recommends Pulliam!

Pulliam Pools did an outstanding job in building my pool. In meeting with them, I felt they were very honest and above board. Their pricing was competitive. They were in contact with me all during the build. Never did I feel neglected. If an issue came up, it was resolved very quickly and to my complete satisfaction. I look forward to swimming in my pool for years to come. I would highly recommend Pulliam Pools if you are looking for an honesty, reliable Pool building company.

Great customer service! Beautiful pool! Thank you to Taylor for working with me for so long on trying to get my pool to fit on my lot and for his patience with me picking out the tile and stone! Also a huge thanks to Randy for being such a great superintendent and being so informative and caring. They did a great job on my pool, steps, and retaining wall! Very impressed! Randy made the build so easy on me and even made it fun! Thank you!

We moved to Texas a year ago and wanted to build a pool. Pulliam Pools was recommended as an honest, competitive company to us. Boy, my friend was right! They helped us design the pool and it turned out great! My construction manager, Brian, did an outstanding job in helping us through the construction. Brian was always available to help me with my thousands of questions. the rest of the people in the office were very helpful and keep us informed during the process. Based on the integrity of the company, I would highly recommend using Pulliam Pools if you are in the market to build a pool.

In 2014 we contracted with Pulliam to build a pool in the backyard of our new home and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. Ted, our salesperson/designer, was easy to work with and quickly came up with the perfect plan that transformed our backyard from an empty plot of land to the perfect summertime enjoyment area. It has also been a great experience dealing with their service personnel who are both friendly and knowledgeable.
They are also pretty quick to respond to the few minor issues that have arisen since the pool was completed. I highly recommend this company for their competitive pricing, knowledgeable staff and commitment to quality.

I am disappointed to have to write this review, as I believe there are some quality employees at Pulliam that want to do their jobs well. However, I purchased a home 2 months ago that had a pool installed by Pulliam 13 months prior. We were in a rush to get settled in as we were relocating from CA and my wife was 8 months pregnant, so we were not able to enjoy the pool right away.
Once we did finally get around to inspecting, we realized that a huge crack was bisecting the pool, resulting in approximately 2 inches of chlorinated water per day leaking into our yard. (Pool was 15 months old at this point). Immediately we contacted Pulliam and were informed that "we do not warranty our work for any subsequent owner", refusing to help us address the issue.
I contested that assertion on the grounds that the pool made it through only 1 swimming season before catastrophic failure. After asking around, I am of the opinion that inadequate ground preparation was done, allowing Pulliam to get by "on the cheap" which resulted in cracking that began immediately. (As info, the base of the pool has sprinklers that keep the ground wet each day to mitigate ground swell due to arid conditions). Please carefully consider your pool contractor's ground preparation plans prior to construction.
