I have been very reluctant to write this review, but I think the consumer should be aware. In the summer of 2021, I hired Florin's Floors to refinish my existing engineered wood floors, to add some additional wood flooring in 2 of the bedrooms and, to repair a few areas where a wall had once been. I noticed after the sanding had been completed, but before any finish had been applied, one area had been over sanded thru the top layer of wood, exposing the inner plywood.

I mentioned it to Florin, the owner, who told me it was due to the floor not being level. I said to him, that may be the case, I didn't know, but this is a section of the floor that you replaced and repaired. He told me he could fix it in the refinishing process. I told him I thought the boards in question should be replaced, as it was a relatively large spot, approximately 13 inches by 2 inches in a high traffic area that would likely be noticeable regardless.

He told me he could replace the section, but he would have to charge me for the additional work. Since he was insistent he could fix it, and he was the expert, I agreed to go with his advice rather than pay anything more for a mistake his team had made. Time goes on, the floors have finish applied, in general they look good "with" the exception of this one area.

He does what he can to fix it, but the area ends up looking black and blue on what otherwise is a very light floor - totally unacceptable! When I complained, he tells me he has done what he could do, and I should have said something before the finishing was completed - which I had. He then says that the area in question wasn't actually an area he had repaired and thus wasn't his responsibility if it was uneven.

I told him this wasn't true, as I had taken pictures of the whole process, and the area in question was definitely part of the floor that he repaired/replaced. He later upon physical inspection admitted that to be the case. I again told him that such a large black and blue spot in the middle of an otherwise very light floor was unacceptable, and I wanted the boards in question changed out and refinished.

He told me this couldn't reasonably be done given there was so little veneer left. After much consternation, I then suggested (I believe very reasonably) he just reimburse me the cost of the repair work - about 15% of the cost of the entire job, and we would call it even. He responded by saying, "he could do that, but he'd have to remove all of the wood he put down, " and when I asked why, he said, "I'm not in the business of selling wood." At this point, I realized there was no point in this discussion.

Given our inability to resolve this issue, I didn't see much point in bringing up some of the other more minor but still significant issues. I did find it interesting that in the areas that were refinished, no fill was used between boards where it normally is (he did fill most of the areas where new wood was installed) leaving gaps which over time gather significant amounts of dust and dirt.

Also many of the pieces of wood used in the repair process looked to be of a lower grade than that found elsewhere ( This was also pointed out many time in the process. Last but not least, quite a bit of floor finish ended up on the kitchen cabinets and front door. In his defense, he did return and spend a couple of hours cleaning up some of this, while he let me know my cleaning lady could have handled it!

I wouldn't do business with this company again, and certainly wouldn't recommend anyone complete paying for his work, until the work is completely finished to your satisfaction - I should know better and that was my error.

I called Florin for a quote and he was able to come the next day to look at the property and floors. In addition, his company had a cancellation and was able to fit me in their schedule within the next 2 weeks to get the work done! After seeing the floors and discussing some issues we found after tearing up the carpet, the project went from 1-2 days to about a week long.

After he refinished the floors beautifully, the moving company did some damage to them and he was there the same week to give me a quote to fix the damage. Florin is ALWAYS very responsive and truly cares about his customers' satisfaction. He is a true professional in all that he does and I love supporting a small, local business!

I can highly recommend Florin's Floors. We just purchased a 100 year old home with some amazing hardwood floors. Including a good portion of the home with heart pine. The refinishing work was outstanding and the floors are beautiful! Florin was prompt and flexible. He was willing to adjust his schedule so that we could complete an interior painting job before the floors.

He actually bumped up our project a few days which was appreciated. He is easy to talk to and is obviously passionate and takes great pride in his work. We had newer pine in the kitchen, and he was able to stain that pine to come close to the color of the heart pine. He was prompt to respond and did everything we requested. It was a real treat to see the big smile on his face when he presented his finished work to us.

He is obviously proud of his work, and we couldn't be happier with the results and our decision to hire Florin. His price for the work was also reasonable and fair. If you need your floors refinished, you should contact Florin for a quote. You won't be disappointed with his work.

Florins Floor did a great job on my wood floors! I didn't need a complete refinish, am selling house, but Florin definitely brought life into these floors and did not break the piggy bank doing it!. I found Florin, the owner, to be very honest, and reliable and easy to work with! He communicated well with me and always responded in a timely manner. Definitely will be recommending him to others!

Referred to Florins Floors by Granite Transformations due to damage to our engineered wood floor caused by its sales person dropping a stack of sample. The sales person said Florins was called to contact me to see how the floor may be repaired but Florins never called. After calling the sales person I called Florins and spoke with Florin himself. Said he would come out that afternoon. Now 5 days later and no show and no phone call. Apparently, Florins is not in need of customers.

We had a wonderful experience with Florin and his crew. They extended the hardwood flooring into an office that was carpeted. The new floors blends seamlessly with our existing hardwood floors. Not only is Florin great at communicating the schedule, they were on time, kept their work neat and did a fantastic job. On top of all of that Florin is a really nice guy to work with. We highly recommend Florin for your hardwood floor installations.

Just had my worn red oak floors sanded and re-finished by Florin Floors. Mr. Florin was very professional, was able to complete the project promptly within my time constraints and most importantly the floors turned out fantastic! (see the before and after pics) Very competent folks. I would recommend!

We were extremely satisfied with Florin. He listened to our concerns, gave good advice, was fair with price and was not arrogant about his services. True family run business where the person who gives u the quote is the person doing the work (vs some contractors that promise all kinds of things that their crew don’t know about). I appreciate people who are true to their word and they arrived exactly at 8:30 Monday morning when he said he would, finished the floors early on Thursday vs Friday. I would highly recommend them!!

Flooring was very professional and understanding of what needed to be done in order to get our floors to where we wanted to. He was very flexible when we had to move dates around due to other services being late. Always enthusiastic and willing to help. Also, he sent us updates and pictures of the work being done. Florin was extremely professional and provided service that exceeded our expectations. He refinished our floors and matched custom color to flooring in another room. We were out of town while the work was performed and he kept us informed every step if the way and provided.photos of the progress. It is gorgeous and we would recommend him to anyone.
