After removing the carpet and padding over 1950's hardwoods, I found the floors had several repair/replacement areas as well as one area where a wall had been removed years before leaving a nine inch gap in the wood flooring.

Derek rocks! Didn't realize just how bad our floors had gotten til they were finished. Now I wish we had done this years ago. I don't know how the hickory was finished before, but the dogs tore it to pieces. The new Bona finish doesn't show claw marks. LOVE IT! AND we didn't have to have all the doors and windows open to do this. Which was a huge deal in the middle of winter!

So my wife posted about our flooring issues. When we had Derek come out to look at our floors he stated that the patch to our hall way was outstanding craftsmanship and totally acceptable. He took zero responsibility or the loose subfloor that he installed that has clearly been the source of why the wood is not holding.
