Gilbert Pool does a great job. My pool would always have algae issues until I started using him. Now my pool always looks great. He also lets me save a few bucks by reminding me to do some of the regular maintenance myself. Overall, great value and great communication.

Awesome company. We needed our pool pump repaired. They were quick to reply, give us a quote and make the needed repairs. Answered all my husband's pool maintenance questions with understandable knowledge. Quick and efficient, we are 100% satisfied customers.

Don't confuse Jake at Gilbert Poolman with POOLMAN in Phoenix. 1 STAR for Jake and 5 STARS for Phoenix POOLMAN! Apparently Jake does not read Emails/Text messages and shows up a day later than scheduled after no response.informed we already hired a pool service that RESPONDS. All documented.

Worst company I've ever come across. Don't waste your time. I bought a new home with a pool and hired them to perform weekly service. The last service our landscaper accidentally blew some leaves in the pool. Because of this I was going to pay the guy more. When I saw him pull up and proceeded to come out to talk to him. But didn't see him any where so I went out to his car and he sped off when he saw me.

Later he sends me a text saying he won't be servicing my property anymore. sends me a bill a week later and then I receive another text TWO days later threatening to put a lien on my property for non payment. Stay far away from this company as you can.

*** IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD! BELIEVE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! *** My home warranty told me my pressure was sky high on my pool. I called Gilbert Poolman he has been servicing my pool for about a year. Jake (the owner) said I never paid for the last filter clean. I said I did too and then he said I can look it up and your right you did. He told me he could have someone come out right away and it would be $129.00 I said fine.

A guy showed up and was literally here for TEN MINUTES. I had someone over and we stood in the kitchen and timed it. I said there's no way he did any of that in ten minutes. I called Jake and told him. He got extremely defensive and said he would call his technician. He called me back and said his tech said he spent 25 minutes at my house. I asked Jake if he would take the top off my filter to just look and make sure it was done.

He said that will cost you another 150.00 for me to take the top off and I don't have the tool. He said my guy takes photos of all of his work. I said no problem please send me the photos to my email I just want to see the work was done. I emailed him reminding him to send the pics. I got an email back threatening me. He told me all my bills were due immediately/ if I don't pay them he will turn me over to collections and they will add 40% fees on top.

He said if I don't pay he will out a lien on my house and I will have to pay $500.00 to have it removed. He told me I'm unstable for questioning his integrity. He told me to find a new pool guy that I can trust. I said as a paying customer I just want to see the pictures to show the work was done. He threatened to get an injunction for harassment against me. RUN FAST away from this company.

He bullies his loyal, paying customers the minute they ask or question him about ANYTHING. I have threatening emails from him that I can post here. I have every right when someone is billing me for a service and I know he was only here for ten minutes to ask questions. He also told me I would have to pay his attorneys fees and I will lose because his tech will say he did the work.

He is threatening me for simply asking for proof that the work was done. He actually said I was unstable for questioning him. He is not accredited with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU now I know why. Reading other reviews, this is a pattern of his. He threatens and intimidates if you question a service or his work. There is no way he could properly clean my DE filter in 10 minutes!

All I wanted was to see pictures that the work was done or for him to take the lid off and look. He said he has the photos but doesn't have to show them to me. He laughed at me when I questioned his technician. I can post his emails here and the ones I sent him as well. Every one he sent threatens me legally and personally for simply asking. I'm a customer. I have a right to ask just like he has a right to ask for payment on services he says have been done!

This company was very fair and honest and were quick to respond to our needs. The service technician was informative and helped explain how the equipment operated and answered other questions we had about maintaining the pool. Service: General repairs & maintenance

No show no call- unable to compete repairs as scheduled! We had scheduled a patch repair to our pool several weeks in advance. The day of the repair the tech arrived 2 hours late and had no idea what he was there to do. It turned out he had no materials with him as well! At one point point he suggested we demo the pool and start over (for a 10 long patch)!

We had already drained the pool (paying for a pump) and Gilbert Poolman hadn't even checked to see if the materials were available- they were not! He told us we could drive to Peoria (we live in Chandler) and pick them up ourselves and he would then come do the repair- he would not send one of his workers or even a messenger to get the repair material.

When confronted on the phone (admittedly we were upset), he made no offer to do the job (and pick up the materials needed), to make things right by covering our out of pocket expense or anything else other than complain we were not treating him fairly.

If I could give a zero I would. There is something seriously wrong with this company as every week it is a different inexperienced person that shows up. The last couple months I noticed they didn't bother to clean the pool and were in/out with 5 min. Worse our pool and spa turned green! Both my husband and I called numerous times during the day only to receive Voicemail. Pool was green and we needed someone out right away. After calling daily and no return call we only have one final message - YOU ARE FIRED!

*Believe and READ the negative reviews* I am typically not one to write reviews of this nature but I felt compelled in this case to ensure others seeking pool services are aware of -and hopefully steer clear of- Gilbert Poolman LLC. Specifically the owner - Jake - has proven himself to be HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL and unnecessarily aggressive & threatening in how he handles customer interactions.

He is obsessed with making it known that nothing is ever his fault and all the blame rests on the client displaying clear bully behavior. He simply is unable to move on professionally and will send aggressive responses that I've rarely experienced when working with a company. *I am certain that if he does reply to this review that his response will no doubt attempt to cast blame on me - the client - and done so in a rather childish manner I imagine.* I do take blame in not taking the time to read the many negative reviews Jake has gathered and I will learn my lesson going forward in selecting a reputable and professional pool service that I look forward to working with. Simply put, If you value being treated with respect and professionalism then absolutely steer clear of Jake and Gilbert Poolman.

I cannot say enough good things about Jake. We were having trouble getting our suction to work on our pool. Our current pool guy spent three hours trying to solve the problem and couldn't figure it out. Within 30 seconds at my house, Jake solved the problem! He took the time to explain the issues and how I can prevent them in the future. And he also refused to send me an invoice because the fix was so quick and he was in the neighborhood anyway. It's so nice and refreshing to meet an honest pool guy who is kind and cares about his customers. Needless to say I'll be switching my pool guy over to Jake immediately!

I hired Jake with Gilbert Poolman, LLC to perform a pool remodel at my home. He and his team turned a 25 year old plaster pool into a beautifully remodeled pebble pool in almost no time! I was extremely satisfied with the service and professionalism I received (for a great price, too - lower than other quotes). Jake does more than just service your pool - if you are looking for someone to perform a remodel, I highly recommend Jake. He is passionate about his job, and even gave me some pointers to use in the future. Great communication and top notch service. Thanks!

God, where do I start?!? If I could give zero stars, I easily would. Trust these reviews as you read them. READ THE REVIEWS- MORE IMPORTANTLY- HIS RESPONSES! Thankfully, never gave this man a dime! I suggest others be careful about giving this unprofessional boy any business. I say boy for a reason- you'll know why the second you meet him (which hopefully you don't have to!) Reviews speak volumes, the responses to them- speak even more.

Just read these reviews and responses! I don't even have to spend more of my time to write about what a poor person this guy is- the reviews speak for themselves! And read his responses- wow! Would never trust this boy around my pool, yet even near my property! He has harassed his surrounding neighbors for years to come now- many of which who are worried about his mental wellbeing and are looking into legal action!

Unless you like your family being harassed- I would heavily advise against ever interacting with such a terrible person. Again, read those reviews, but more importantly, look into how this boy handles them- deflecting his mishaps on his customers, never taking responsibility. I heavily advise avoiding this company, as he harasses his neighbors, and by the looks of the honest reviews- doesn't do his job well either!

I recommend not using this company for anything. We spend almost 10,000 bucks refinishing our cool deck and plaster inside the pool. Within 1 month there were massive cracks in the finish and they just keep getting worse and worse. The Gilbert pool man refuses to correct their poor workmanship. This is an updated review for Gilbert Poolman - after going through multiple companies with slow response times it's tough to really give them the score I gave them before. Gilbert Poolman was always responsive and my pool was kept clear and sparkling even during the hot summer months.

Jake from Gilbert Poolman came by and diagnosed both a heater problem and a spa light problem and fixed them both to my satisfaction. Prices were great! Now they keep our big pool clean and sparkling; which was almost impossible before.

This pool company is a joke. first they quoted me for some repairs and dropped the price by over $600 after I asked some questions. First off, why did they feel the need to try and rip me off? Had I agreed to their initial price they would have gladly ripped me off. Secondly, the repairs they did do took over a week to get right. A simple motor and filter replacement should not take 8 hours and 4 trips to get right. Stay away from these people unless you like being ripped off!

My pool pump stopped working the day I left for an extended vacation and I knew if I couldn't find someone fast my pool would look mutant when I got home. Jake understood the urgency and had my new pump installed while I was several states away! I'll update my review when I get home to see the quality of work but for now my pool has been saved thanks to Jake!

I highly recommend this pool service company. We have used Gilbert Poolman over the last several years for vacation service, repairs and, (just this week) for tile cleaning. This company has been exceptional and wonderful to work with. Austin is awesome! He used a new product to clean calcium deposits from the tile, making it almost as clean as new.

My experience is that they always have done a good job as well as have been courteous and friendly. Work is executed in professional manner and any issues are dealt with promptly. Jake, the owner, goes above and beyond, satisfying all concerns.

In response to the owner's remark: Every negative review you receive has some excuse why it wasn't your fault, the customer was to blame, or you say it was made up. Saying someone is mentally ill in order to make an excuse for your own poor behavior is reprehensible - your comment says a lot more about you than it does about us. It makes no sense that someone would go online to make up a story like this about a business.

But it doesn't matter if you want to lie about us and about this, because his entire exchange was over e-mail; it's all in writing. If you plan to lie, It might be a good idea to ensure there isn't written documentation of your unprofessional business practices and unstable behavior. If anyone would like to see the e-mail correspondence I have from Gilbert Poolman that confirms my review, please feel free to send a message and I'll forward. Don't get involved with this business - we sure are sorry we ever did.

With regards to the comment below by the company: I have the receipts to prove what work was performed and when you were here and what you charged me. Who cares if I waited to post the review? Does that somehow invalidate my experience and your shoddy work? I am not aware of any Yelp policy stating reviews are only valid if posted on the day the service was received.

This goes to show you what to expect from these folks. STOP! Call someone else now. They don't know what they are doing and YOU will pay for their lack of experience. Our pool motor was on it way out. It was leaking, there was severe calcium build up, it was a few years old. I think it had some other issues too. I believe it was also squealing a bit and constantly.

I let my wife know that I wanted it replaced. She called for the repair man. The repair man shows up (I believe he was the owner). Says it didn't need replacement and instead installed an impeller and a diffuser ($80 each!) and a $15 seal. Add in the $85 service call fee and the total amount of this repair was $260. This work was performed in the morning (this is during the height of summer).

I came home from work that evening and could hear the motor squealing as I was pulling into the driveway. It was that loud. My wife calls the company back the following morning. So what does the repair man do this time? He follows my original request to replace the motor and installs a new motor and seal. $310 in parts, gives us a break on labor for $40 (gee thanks buddy) for a total of $350 to do WHAT HE SHOULD HAVE DONE THE FIRST TIME.

The grand total for both visits $610. I just loved flushing $260 down the drain so this repair man could practice his scam sales skills or just enjoy experimenting on my dime. I also love that "caught living in Gilbert tax". I will never call this horrible company again.

Gilbert Poolman saved us! You guys rock. These guys came through in a pinch a day before my friends pool party, just after a swinging monsoon gusted through in time to wreck the water. They responded to our call quickly, breezed in quietly and had the pool cleaned, water balanced, and everything looking sharp in NO TIME!

This company is extremely inconsistent, rude, and just an awful experience overall. Over the weekend I was out of town and he didn't set the timer right and the pool pump was on for 3 days straight and burnt the pump out.
