Edit: I was contacted this morning by the company. They explained that they were under manned last night and it was mostly just a miscommunication between their answering service and their staff. I waited for literally two hours trying get a call to answer a few questions and to get an eta of when they could come by. After calling back for the third time, the third person I spoke with let me know that the on call person was now on a job and he wasn't sure when the guy would even be able to call. Thanks for

My central AC stopped working. I called at about one in the afternoon. Described what was happening. They had a man out here, Steve, by 3:00. He was friendly, courteous, and very efficient. Hour and a half later and everything was repaired and working just fine again. He gave me a description of what was wrong and caused the failure and what he did to fix it And the cost was very reasonable

I called A-1 today to inquire about service for a residential a/c unit. The man that answered the phone was not friendly to me at all. I was unable to tell him the age of my unit and he was then cold and practically hung up on me. Because of this I do not recommend using them. As the first point of contact to customers, the person answering the phone should be friendly and helpful. Not cold and rude.

Critical: Professionalism I called to get ductwork repaired on my manufactured home. The representative I spoke with was rude and argumentative and told me to call the company that installed my heater two years ago or call a lawyer. He wouldn't even send someone out to quote repairs. THEN, he hung up on me! Bad business practice if you ask me!

The person that came to our house was very disrespectful we had another person prior to A1 come out to give us an estimate they were getting ready to leave when a the guy from A1 jumped out of the vehicle screaming at the other business telling him that he wasn't licensed because he didn't have a sticker on his truck and that he wasn't a real company and all kinds of things and then 2 hours later he called my husband back just to tell my husband that the guy is a s*** company that this is what nightmares are made of.
And not to be surprised if our house catches on fire or something goes wrong because of the job that he did. Not even a week later we had a knock on our door from the city of Toledo because he called them pretending to be a concerned citizen to say that our heating and air conditioning wasn't done properly and I showed the city of Toledo the paperwork and everything was fine these people are very unprofessional I would never use their service in my life it is crazy I understand being competitive but not like that that was very sickening to me

The company was professional, organized and quick with getting us on the schedule. Came when they said they would and finished in a timely manner. Explained everything about the new unit upon completion of the job and cleaned up after as if they were never here. Would definitely recommend A-1 to anyone who needed a central air unit replaced

I was very pleased with the services provided by A-1 Heating. From the initial repair by Mike on a weekend when my furnace went out to the installation of new heating and cooling by Brad and Don. Mike explained to me that my heating system was not very good (apologized for the honesty) and informed me that freon for my cooling wouldn't be available any longer. Brad and Don were here early the 2 days they came.
They let me know when they were turning the water off, explained the settings for the furnace and the thermostat. I would recommend A-1 Heating to anyone needing furnace or air services.

We called them at 8:30am. They were here by 10:00am found 3 cracks in our heat exchanger! Immediately shut off the furnace! Luckily we didn't die from carbon monoxide poisoning! The man that came is A+ in my book! The next crew was at the house by noon! Had the old furnace out an new on in by 12;35! The came back Thursday to finish the whole set up including a new thermostat! Best efficient service ever! An great prices too. Thank you so much

By far the worst experience with customer service I have ever had. I typically operate under the assumption that everyone is trying their best that and know that you never know what is going on in someone's personal life. Therefore, bad customer service doesn't bother me. However, this was noteworthy. Our AC went out and I called to see if we could get service.
It was 6pm and the person who answered the phone said no one would be available to come until the next day. There was a heat advisory, I have two small children, and our house was already 85 but I understand they are doing their best so I accepted that and he said they would call before they come. I took my kids out of the house to cool down, came home to put them to bed, and hadn't taken my phone with me.
I come back to 6 missed calls from a "No Called ID" number with two voice mails - all occurring within about an hour. The voicemails have a rude tone, annoyed that I did not answer. If I could save a sound clip to this review I would. Had the scheduler said someone could be out that night, I would have definitely kept my phone on me because we didn't want to wait.
I figured it was too late by the time I got home to call back, so I didn't. I receive a call the next morning and tell the guy that we had someone else scheduled and we didn't need him. I mentioned our AC was new and it was the person who installed it coming out. He asked why I even called another company and I told him I didn't think labor was covered and that guy couldn't get to us.
I could have explained that the guy actually was on vacation as it is the 3rd of July and we didn't want to wait a week, but why should I have to? He replied with a snarky comment that all labor should be covered unless I didn't use someone licensed and hung up on me. I didn't want our AC to go out and I definitely didn't want to have to wait to get it fixed, but life happens and we deal with it. Having this company make things even worse during an already obnoxious time was ridiculous.

I always recommend A-1. Needed furnace replaced and it was done quickly and duct work scheduled for the day after New Year’s Day. The service guy was here promptly and did an excellent job. Cleaned up everything and left my basement clean and tidy. The people from A-1 are always friendly, polite and professional. I highly recommend them! They’ve never let me down!!

We had Mike from A-1 Heating come out in an emergency after 3 pm on a night we were having a bunch of friends over. He was able to fix the fire sensor on our Heil furnace in about 20 min and he explained everything he was doing at the same time. In all it cost $180 for the fix and we had heat for our game night. These guys are very loyal to their customers. They came out immediately when my furnace stopped working. Months later, they performed an overall maintenance check on the furnace and gave advice on how to prolong the life of the furnace. Prices are reasonable. These guys are very professional and punctual.

A-1 Heating quickly came out to our home in our emergency situation. With having a baby water is a must. A-1 showed up within a couple hours and replaced our hot water tank. The workers were very kind, informative, and professional. They cleaned up after themselves and disposed of all our old equipment. Not to mention they were reasonably priced. I recommend them to all my family and friends whenever they have an issue!

Called about seeing if they could come over to look at a problem with my furnace because the installer of the furnace wasn't able to come out for a week. They told me I was "suffering the consequences" of not going with them. It seems they decided it was OK to be unprofessional and petty about us not having them put in the furnace when we had them give us a quote a few years ago. Don't do business with them unless you plan to put loyalty to them above what's best for your budget and your family's needs.

I was not happy with my interaction with them at all. My dad recently pased away and I was working on cleaning out his trailer when the furnace went out. In a panic I called A-1 because there was a sticker on the furnace indicating they may have worked on it before. It was late January and some of the coldest days of the season and I was afraid with no heat the pipes would freeze.
I explained it to the man on the phone and an employee came out to take a look. After looking at the furnace for approximately 4 minutes (if that), he told me the motor was blown and it's so old that it wouldn't be work fixing - and they probably couldn't even find the parts. But he could install a whole new furnace for $2795.00. At that point I felt like I should just doing because - well I didn't know what else I could do - so I scheduled for them to come out the next day.
After I told one of me dad's friends, he said he would have someone he knew look at it so I cancelled the appointment with A1. In the end, i had a certified furnace guy come out.and fix the motor, for $350. A-1 also called me back about 5 different times asking me if I was ready to reschedule. The guy on the phone sounded a little pissy when, after asking me what I was going to do, I told him I had someone coming out to fix the motor.
Just kind of felt like it was an opportunity for someone to take advantage of a women who didn't know too much about what to do about a furnace and was just trying to take care of things for my father who had passed.

I give a1 heating NO stars they are the most rude people ever. I got a brand new heater from there and they come to service every few months because they don't seem to know what they are doing or it would be fine. Now I have called because this year its not coming on they say I have an electrical problem call an electrician ( but still want their 80 service fee for nothing) so I pay and have an electrician come fix the problem call them back and they are rude still before I even get to explain my situation.i say you offer 24 hour emergency service and my heater is blowing cold air they say it will be 3 days before someone comes out. WHY.because they obviously don't offer 24 hour service I tell them I have babies but they don't care so would I EVER recommend a1 heating HELL NO! GO ELSEWHERE you will save alot of time and money. It MADE me give one star to post I GIVE 0

When our A/C went out, we sought estimates from three different local companies, A-1 being one of them. Chris seemed very knowledgeable and, if a little forceful in his delivery, friendly enough. We did our research on the system he recommended and decided against it, selecting a different company who has given us good service in the past on our heating system.
They recommended a cooling system we felt was better for our needs. When Chris called to follow up and learned we'd selected his competitor, his attitude quickly turned snarky and insulting and, in my view, unprofessional. While I might have recommended his services to someone else who needs HVAC services, after that "conversation", I will not be recommending A-1 to anyone. I have him two stars instead of one because, as I said before, he seems to know what he's talking about and would probably do a good job installing the system.
