Universal Heating and Cooling

I have been a customer of Universal Heating & Cooling since 1999 when they replaced my home HVAC system. I requested quotes from Universal and two other companies when it came time to replace the HVAC system and water heater in 2022. Universal had the best price for the same equipment quoted., beating the other two companies by $1200 and $4000 respectively.

I had used Universal for routine maintenance and 1 service call over the last 23 years with complete satisfaction. As for the new HVAC system, Chadd did a thorough assessment of my needs and made recommendations that were not overselling the products and answered my many questions and concerns. The quote was detailed and complete, not my experience with other companies.

The technicians were professional and respectful of our property during the installation. They answered our questions and left the place spotless at the end of each day. It's great to see a local family owned business focused on customer satisfaction and providing great products and service at a very competitive price.

I did not have a good experience with this company at all. The tech did a poor job with diagnostics for a leak with my hot water tank. He suggested full placement but turns out it was only the drain valve that needed repair. Thanks to another experienced tech, the valve was replaced and is working fine. I did not need to replace the tank! When I discussed with manager the problem and requested another visit to reassess, he wasn't quite receptive. Somewhat rude and arrogant. The guy who answered the phone to set up the appointment was also rude. I don't recommend this company for hot water tanks.

Universal is local, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. They have a solid team of techs and are very communicative about the work that needs to be done and how much it will cost. The large institutional Rochester HVAC contractors don't care about customers in the city. Universal treats me fairly and in Roc that really stands out.

I woke up and my house was cold. I let it go until the next day thinking it would kick on, it didn't. I called Universal they arrived within 20 mins. They explained what they found repaired it and I had heat in about 30 minutes. It was wonderful! Thank you Universal. Service: Heating system repair

After months of trying to get my older propane furnace converted to natural gas, I finally found the people to do it! Chad answered my email within a few hours and had Russ out to fix things within the week! They solved the scheduling issue I was having with RG&E by offering a better furnace part solution and had things ready for a new meter in a day! I would highly recommend them and will be using them again whenever I need service!

I have been using Universal HVAC for about 20 years. They are always available and pick up the phone ( a real human - Mary - such a sweetheart - not a recording). I have used them for installations, maintenance and repair. I highly recommend them to my Real Estate clients! Owners are always available to answer questions. Love these guys!

Universal knows boilers! We've had some bad experiences with other companies that said they knew boilers and clearly they did not. Universal explains what is needed as well as options to consider. Their prices are fair and they work quickly and neatly. I can't imagine another company doing better. If you need heating or cooling work, Universal is my best recommendation!

These guys are great, they gave me an upfront and honest quote with a clear explanation of the equipment and work needed. Chad was very prompt responding to my emails and keeping appointment times. They were able to remove and install my old furnace and AC in just two days and I didn't have to wait weeks for them to schedule my job after we signed our contract.

After the installation was complete Chad filled out the majority of the paperwork I needed to send to RG&E to get my efficiency credit. I couldn't have asked for an easier experience at a low price!

They have always been extremely professional, explained exactly what was wrong with my furnaces and AC, and have always charged fair prices for the work that they do. Just this past week, we had them install a furnace and AC unit in my brother's home (I handle the maintenance of his home). Their work was very well done, clean, professional and quick. I can't recommend them enough to anyone who is looking for a fair, honest, and trustworthy Heating and Cooling company.

Called because vandal stole copper pipe off air conditioner. Seemed nice, came out to look at it. Gave a a very ball park figure, but assured us it would probably be closer to the low side. We said ok, go ahead.
