Horrific experience with predatory practices is the best way to describe the latest interaction. A simple drain cleaning for $98 was scheduled for my 77 year old mother since I could not clear the blockage and Josh showed up at about 9:39am. he looked under the sink and say he only makes an assessment and doesn't clean drains. He then proceeded to poke fun at the previous work done by my late father which hadn't had a problem in over 25 years and even when my mother pointed that out he still said he did it wrong.
All day was wasted waiting for someone else to call about coMing to clean the drain. Brandon finally came after 4:00, proceeded to needle my mother over my late father's plumbing work that had no problems for 25 years. even knowing he had passed Brandon still demeaned the work repeatedly then slapped a $1369 estimate to replace all the pipes in the basement and cut in a vent in the home's roof. he was told he was supposed to clean the drain only and that's all and he replied, "oh that was Josh's job." then proceeded to try and push a $1400 repair job that doesn't need to be done. these two mistakenly saw an opportunity to try and take advantage of "a little old lady" by demeaning my late father and back talking the estimate with the inability to explain what all the charges were. Unethical and predatory!

We called Thomas and Galbraith to come out to help us with a clogged kitchen sink and have nothing but great things to say about our experience. We were given a time window and told they would call 30 minutes prior to coming. Not only did they call ahead but called earlier and came out sooner than expected. Once they arrived they were very professional, friendly, and considerate. Brandon, Jeff, and their new trainee not only spent the time but corrected a prior plumbers errors and made the quality of piping and draining better and to code.
Their experience and expertise was amazing. They went above and beyond and put in new pieces to make sure we didn't have an issue again and then spent the time to snake the pipes to clear the clog and left with nicely unclogged pipes and a sink that worked better than ever. They cleaned everything up afterward and left squeaky clean. They did all of this for the price of only unclogging the drain, which was more than reasonable to begin with!
I will certainly use them from now on for all of my plumbing needs and recommend them to all my friends and family. Thank you all so much! Quality of professionals as well as their work was for sure a 10.

The technician Charlie was fantastic. He called and said he could come early than the original time slot and showed up when promised. The text they send to intro the tech is a great feature. He and his associate were friendly and knowledgeable. The quickly analyzed the system and determined the problem. They offered a couple options to chose from for the fix.
Once we decided on that, they were quick and efficient. When they were done, he provided service options but wasn't pushy, just helpful. Very impressed with him and the company - thank you for the help!

My AC wasn't working so I called for a service and the technician they sent acted as if he knew what he was doing and told me I needed a new system. I had the salesman out who gave me a quote and I than got a second opinion. This second opinion technician told me the AC worked and all I needed was a new thermostat because it was wired wrong. $50 vs $5000. The AC was never turned on! The technician and the salesman never even noticed! I will never trust them again!

My first experience in Nov '21 was fantastic. Second time I've used them for the same problem. I really appreciate Natalie getting me on the schedule same day and the technician coming out a few hours after the call. That being said, I told the tech the toilet was not draining properly. He proceeded to flush it then walk outside. I just happened to go in the basement and noticed water streaming from the ceiling.
The toilet above had over flowed. I had an inch of water on my bathroom floor and rivulets of water running down my parquet floor hallway and into 3 other rooms. Even using every towel in the house wasn't enough to get all the water up. The tech comes back in the house, doesn't say anything about the water running everywhere then says he needs to open the drain in the basement. Needless to say that was a mess too.
He fixed the clog but was in such a hurry to leave he left a huge wrench in the yard next to the clean out pipe he never closed. I'm happy the clog is fixed but if someone tells you the toilet isn't draining properly don't flush it then walk away and I'm fairly certain flooding a parquet floor isn't something a plumber should do.

We recently had a furnace replaced & AC installed in our home by T&G. Our home did not currently have AC & the existing duct work was routed inefficiently all over the place. T&G had a same day appointment when I called & provided the estimate that day as well. Matt (salesman) and the installation team were very straight forward and knowledgeable about what needed done.
By the following week we had our service complete. I know it's the slow season, but other companies (who quoted much higher) had a longer wait time & a roundabout explanation of cost / service expectations. The 3 men who came to service our home were personable, worked as a team & were impeccably professional. I can't recommend them enough! Thank you so much.

Ajay was very knowledgeable and professional. He called me to let me know he was coming and kept me informed as he went through the maintenance procedures. His equipment was up to date and he was very thorough in his activities. He had a clean uniform and wore booties on his shoes to keep from tracking dirt into the house. I am confident that he did a very good job.

***Update - AC was finally attached to the stand on March 4th (60days) Today is 4/8/2022 - 90 days and counting and still no vent cleaning scheduled or performed. I had a new furnace and AC unit installed. On the day of installation, technicians could not finish the AC or get the thermostat to work properly. They stated that they would schedule a new day and give an upgrade on the thermostat for the trouble (12/17/21).
After repeated times to get a hold of our project manager/salesperson, I sent an email to client care on 12/22/2021. This email also advised Thomas and Galbraith that the AC unit is not attached to our stand (two poles that sit off the ground), and with a gentle touch and it falls off. Our previous AC unit was attached. I get a reply and a new appointment.
They come out on 12/27/21, fix the AC line, don't bring a new thermostat, and do not fix the AC Unit being unattached. I was able to connect the thermostat and once again email and provide pictures to client care about the AC unit. Client Care responds and asks for my address to "look into it". I immediately provide my address. Days go by with no answer, email them again on 1/3/2021.
No reply, email again on 1/9/2021. The lesson is don't pay in full on your $9k furnace until they get it fixed. Today is 1/12/2021 no answer and my AC unit is still half off the stand. Now I question the 15-year warranty!?!?!? Also did not get my free duct cleaning. A great experience all around.

Lucas called 30 minutes before he was due to arrive and told me he was on his way. When he got to the house, he had on booties and a mask & was dressed in uniform. He was very professional, and he worked on my drains for over an hour until they were completely clear and running freely. When he was finished, he went out to his van to get cleaning products and left my bathroom virtually spot free.
As promised, it was $93. I have had 2 other companies clean the drain before and neither one of them worked as hard as Lucas did. Last year's guy did a "puff of air" to clear the line. He charged me $126. He was going to charge me more if he had to snake it. Lucas went right to work snaking the drain's and didn't leave until the job was completely done. I am very impressed. Thank you T&G!

Josh Lawson was great! He was early for the appointment, explained everything and possibilities of the 3 issues I had beforehand. As he worked and finished the drains, he discussed what he found with me and also future issues to consider. I will definitely use this business again as I even signed up for their membership. Josh was very professional and personable. 10 stars if I could.

I had a great experience from start to finish. Everyone from Thomas & Galbraith was responsive and kind. My 25+ year old furnace stopped working in the cold winter, and they were able to tell me about my options and fully replace it all within 2 days. I appreciate that, even though they encountered unexpected electrical problems, they worked tirelessly for 10 hours straight to complete the installation in 1 day, and took the time to show me how everything works and answered all my questions at the end. I highly recommend their products and services! Thank you!

The technician was on time, friendly and very knowledgeable. He was efficient and got my heat back on in no time. Reason for the 4 stars is the trip charge. No problem paying it, but if I decide to give the big bucks for the repair to the company who diagnosed the issue then I expect the trip charge be waived - like other companies do. I could have said thank you very much, pay the trip charge and source a cheaper option to fix it. But if I'm giving the job to Thomas & Galbraith, then they can at least waive that call out charge!

Called Thomas & Galbraith to help trouble shoot drainage problem. They scheduled quickly and arrived on time. The technician was knowledgeable, honest, and gave suggestions to fix the problem. He cancelled the drain tech as we came to the conclusion it wasn't needed (saved me time and money) and scheduled for a camera crew for the next day keeping in mind our best available times.
I appreciated the honest feedback and conservative approach to trouble shoot the problem and gave case scenarios of what to do on findings. I have used this company for years for our heating and cooling annual maintenance check up and find their prices competitive and reasonable and technicians knowledgeable.

Kevin and Brennan were fantastic. I had a different company come out first, but they were unable to complete the job. Lucky for me, too; they quoted me a price six times higher than what Thomas and Galbraith charged me. Kevin and Brennan encountered a couple of snags along the way and they kept at it until the problem was solved. For the service, the professionalism, the efficiency, and the price, I will never use a different plumbing company again. T&G has my business for life.

If you're debating listening to the bad reviews on here or if it could really be *that bad* - please listen. If I could give 0 stars I would. We have had issue after issue with this company and it is getting ridiculous. Unless you want to be stuck without ability to use your kitchen for a month - pick someone else. We were unable to use our kitchen/laundry for a whole month because of these people. 1.
We originally had a plumber come out to diagnose leaking in our basement. They diagnosed the problem in less than 5 minutes (clearly not enough) came out to fix it and lo and behold we paid 3 grand to have the same issue the day after they left. Completely misdiagnosed the issue because they didn't listen to us and did it in 5 minutes. 2. They came back out to fix the REAL problem and charged us for it, they took a small amount off the price but not nearly as much as they should considering the first appointment didn't fix the issue at all and the plumbing manager took 3WEEKS TO GET BACK TO US TO SCHEDULE THIS.
In the meantime we couldn't use our kitchen for 3 weeks. 3. They then said we should have our pipes scoped to make sure everything looked ok for free. They came out and did so and suggest we hydrojet our pipes. we agreed and made an appointment for today. 4. Not only did they not show up for the appointment today, the guy who scoped our pipes before CAUSED A BACKUP.
We went from no issues to not being able to use our kitchen now again. And the best part - they won't come fix it now until Wednesday even though THEY MISSED THE APPOINTMENT TODAY. We have 0 ability to use our kitchen or laundry until late next week. For a total of a whole month without our kitchen because of them. I expect much better service and turnaround time for an issue you created, especially after the many issues you have caused for us.
The one nice thing I'll say is at least the plumbers we've worked with have been pleasant. Other than that - 0. Listen to the reviews, they cause nothing but issues and headaches and don't own up to their mistakes. We couldn't be more frustrated right now.

Service was fast and same day. Technician was polite, knowledgeable and thorough. Assessed problem and made recommendations for repair quickly. Was not the pushy salesman type of Technician which I appreciate. I use Thomas and Galbraith at my business and home. Always satisfied with the service. Five stars! Service: Heating system repair

Don. Called and was here in 15 minutes. Bright and early. Had plenty of energy and knowledge. Found the problem very quickly and actually found a second issue that was causing the the issue I had called on. He made a list of items needed for both repairs and went to the supply house and back in about 45 minutes. He removed the bad valve and installed new parts.
He had all the nessacery tools and cleaned up his work area. Asked several times if I had questions then promptly issef the invoice and had us back in business by 10am. Professional workmanship and pleasant personality.

Most customer friendly, awesome and affordable service I've ever had. I love the way follow up and customer care is put first- seems like employees are treated with the same care and respect. Love the technician specialists background information and picture so you know exactly who is coming to your home, plus you get valuable insight into the persons personality and interests.
Will definitely recommend this company and services to others as well as future jobs I may have a need for. Great all around experience Thomas and Galbraith! And thank you Joe for your professional courteous manner and getting the job done quickly and thoroughly!

It was freezing weather and our furnace was failing. The exhaust gas fan was off balance due to a broken vane. I called my trusted HVAC company but learned they had been acquired by Thomas Galbraith so, not being the suspicious type, I invited them over. I also told them the part number I needed to complete the repair. The technician arrived on time but did not have the part.
He then told me that another technician would arrive the next day, with the part, and that I now owe $94 for his trip. He also said that this was a "flat rate repair", that the cost would be $882 and that my $94 would be applied to the total if I agree to let them complete the repair. The reader should know that the replacement fan sells for $240 retail, I won't tell you what wholesale distributers charge.
I called the dispatcher and asked why the tech didn't have the part I requested. Not knowing I have been doing HVAC for 40 years, she replied that the tech must always make a determination. That means you will always be charged $94 even if you decide to not proceed with repairs. Then I asked the dispatcher why the labor charge was nearly $600 per hour and she said, "Well, we have to keep our technicians trained." Neither of these facts were offered when I made the first call. Wow.
What a scam. That was November 21st, 2017 and the replacement fan performs as designed. So, if you like fast, reliable service at an astronomical rate, feel free to call Thomas Galbraith. They will be happy to oblige.

I'm not one to leave reviews, but the experience I had was beyond awful so I want to ensure others are aware. Let's go back to January 2020. We had a sewer back up in our basement which brought sewage into the house. We called Thomas and Galbraith to unclog our pipe. They did. All was great. They did say it seemed something was in the way of the pipe and we should get a camera down there.
So we did. Found out our pipe was broken and needed replaced at the end of January 2020. They gave us two options, which actually only one was possible. We wanted to go with the more expensive option because it would have required less mess in our backyard, but when they tried to start to work, they found out that option wasn't possible. So we went with the less expensive option, however, since they "had already done so much labor" the cost was the same as the more expensive option.
Which was about a $2,300 difference. So they came to start to work. Realized they didn't have the right tools. Then came back without permission, while my husband and I were at work, which required us to come home. Throughout the process, there was unacceptable communication and we weren't sure what was going on with the process. Now it's July 2021, and we noticed a HUGE hole in our backyard where they "filled in" the hole.
Well let me tell you, they did not fill in the hole and used mulch. Seriously? I will never use Thomas and Galbraith and 110% DO NOT recommend them. Please save your money and time and do research before using them. Again, not one to normally leave reviews but this had to be said. It's unacceptable and they will continue to hurt home owners and waste their money.

I've used T&G multiple times and called them after I had a floor drain back up. After 5 visits, 4 of which were to do actual work, they finally told me cost of work would be 3.5X the original quote. I'm disappointed as this put me in a tough situation where I couldn't get another company out to confirm since my sewer was exposed and connected with a pvc pipe just laying between two pipes.
It took them over a week to complete the work. They would leave at 1pm and then came back after the originally quoted time. After the work was completed, my sales contact never provided me with the paperwork he promised he would in person. Lastly, my basement was so dirty it took hours to clean up. Additionally open Gatorade bottles of human pee were left for me to clean up. Absolutely disgusting. I also called and asked to talk to the client rep twice and was told that did not exist and would need to work everything through my sales rep.

I have spent around 20,000 on repairs to my sewer and now am being ignored. All I want is for them to finish the repair of my neighbors yard. The first time around was ok. But then the spot repair didn't work and I had to have them come out to replace the rest of the line that runs through my neighbors yard. Kept getting the run around for a month.
A month without being able to use anything in my house. A month of staying in and out of hotels just to shit and shower. Now they won't even take a payment from me for the rest of what I owe. How does a company not want money. Keep getting told I will be called back. Ya thats been going on for weeks. Evertime I call same result with no call back. Quality of work seems ok but customer service sucks. I won't use them again.

Total rip off. We were concerned about the age of our sump pump since we had just purchased a 25 year old home. The technician said we needed to replace the primary sump pump, which if we purchased one from Lowes would have cost about $150. However, at the end of 1 1/2 hours, we owed $750 and magically had a one year membership to Thomas & Galbraith for $109!
I called to question the membership fee since the technician did not mention it when he was at our house. I was told "she" would look into it and call me back. No return call. Additionally, I asked for an itemized bill - materials and labor costs. I was told they don't do that. I would NOT recommend using Thomas and Galbraith.

Thomas and Galbraith came to my house to check the sewer drain.it was backed up. Someone came out to run the camera down to see where the problem was. He said that the problem was 3 ft shy of MSDS issue. So he made the marking in my front lawn and emailed me an estimate of $4,300. to start. Well I made a few phone calls and was told to contact MSDS. MSDS came out and the distance of public right of way was WELL INTO my property. I will never call them again and would never refer a company that LIES to make money.

I called to make an appointment because I had water leaking from the base of my toilet. A Google search for Cincinnati plumbers advertised $80 off T&G. I found a $100 off coupon on their website. The person who answered the phone said I just needed to present my coupon upon payment. Tracey arrived on time, but smelling strongly of body odor and cigarette smoke.
He quickly jumped to the conclusion that we needed a whole new toilet. We definitely want a second opinion because (not that I'm an expert) we were thinking we just needed our wax seal replaced. He told us our options were a $500, $600 or $900 brand new toilet. He wouldn't accept the coupon because we didn't have a service plan (which was not specified as required on the coupon itself or with the representative I spoke with on the phone). Bottom line, the whole thing felt very salesy and unprofessional. We paid $93 for him to come smell up my house and do nothing. Won't ever call them again.

I had a kitchen sink that was stopped up for days. I tried everything, plunging and Draino and nothing worked. I finally called Thomas and Galbraith, the price was right, $93 to unclog or it's free. I set up an appointment ad the tech was very nice and courteous and was masked for COVID. Before long, the drain was cleared and running great and I got a one year guarantee. The tech also cleaned the gunk from the sink an fixed the garbage disposal. Very satisfied with the service I received.

Had to many problems, but the one that really hurt my feelings was that my sheet of uncut two dollar bills in a picture frame was stolen out of my basement. I called to tell the lady and she said they don't hire criminal, well they have one. That really got to me because, here I am trusting these people to come in and do work for me. Moving things around and out the way to get to the pipes, that's when they discovered the picture. It's a shame. Every time I go down into my basement i think about it.

It has been my worst experience ever, I requested for garbage disposal unit repair service, I was told that I would be charged $94 for coming down and checking things out. Technician arrived on 11/17 and initial check realized it the fuse tripped at the fuse board. One flip and the unit started working. Nothing was done in terms of opening the unit, nothing was done.
I get whooping bill of $ 169, for no work done by them. It is minimum we charge was the answer, I did not want disrespect and realized I would call the company to straighten it out. I call them and later get a call from their manager saying you are lucky we did not charge an extra $94. In this COVID times, as we struggle to keep our family running and save money, we have companies that are exploiting us. I am deeply saddened and feel cheated with this service provider. I expect them to be human when customers bring up their concerns and share genuine pain.

Our plumbing tech, Evie, was awesome! We had her install a new bathroom vanity/sink/faucet and a second bathroom faucet as well as a new toilet filter valve. Lots of work to be done.and during a pandemic. She explained what she was going to do, kept us updated during her work, made recommendations, answered our questions and was extremely polite. And she wore a mask the whole time she was here.
We appreciated Evie explaining plumbing things in a way we could easily understand. She was personable, funny & professional.the perfect mix. We will definitely ask for Evie by name when scheduling future plumbing work with Thomas & Galbraith.

No such thing as 0 stars, if that gives you any idea how this review is going to go. Funny that while I'm writing this review their estimate sits in front of me and their slogan is, "the most important comfort we provide is trust." My mom's toilet wouldn't flush so of course a plumber was her first call. Thank God, we don't have much experience with plumbers as we haven't had many major issues but this does leave us at a disadvantage on who to call. Thomas & Galbraith, being a known company in the area, this is who she called.
Her estimate to fix the clog was $19,980. Yes, you read that correctly. Almost $20,000 to unclog a toilet. They were kind enough, however, to get her a list of what this would include. This would include replacing her Galvanized pipes with simple, inexpensive, pvc. It also includes a new 50 gallon water heater, chrome risers for her claw foot tub. (I don't know why I didn't think of this before!
Of course, her claw foot tub was causing her toilet not to flush!) and it also included new outside hose faucets and a comfort height toilet. When my mom showed distress over such a huge estimate, she was told that if they take off the new toilet they would lower the estimate to $16,000. Now listen, I appreciate my mom. She did a lot for me growing up.
But this girl wasn't raised sitting on $3,000 toilets?!?!?! Are you kidding me? I have it right here in black and white folks. SHAME ON THOMAS AND GALBRAITH AND SHAME ON JOSH CLARK FOR TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MY MOM! You are the EXACT reason why single, retired ladies feel bad about relying so heavily on their sons and sons and laws. They can't trust men like you! By they way, her issue was fixed for $89. Please read my following reviews.

Dishonest company. Just stay away. Zero stars. Also filing a BBB complaint. 18 months after an AC install that was poor, the wireless connection for our thermostat went bad - doesn't even power on. We called to have them replace it, as the part is under a manufacturers warranty. They said they would, but only for a $94 trip charge. I offered to bring the part to them.
They said I could not do that. They didn't explain why. They then called back and offered to sell us a new warranty for $400. Trust the reviews people. If the local taco fast food place gets three stars and this place gets 1.5, you know it's bad.
