Absolutely terrible experience. broke tree branches off a tree next to their dumpster. put holes in spot of our gutter. tried to over bill our insurance carrier by $10k! which i had to point out and make them correct. their roofer knocked our flue pipe apart, causing carbon monoxide and exhaust from furnace into our attic which then caused water to get onto our ceiling. they fixed pipe but now are refusing to repair drywall, which they previously said they would. when asked why they would not fix the damage their roofer caused, they told me a lie about the pipe not being up to code or something. i called hvac guy who repaired pipe and he had no idea what they were talking about, and said pipe was installed to code and per manufacturer recs and said a roofer had to have knocked the pipe apart during the roofing process. i called valley boys out on their blatant lie, and no response. filed with BBB and neb attorney general. we'll see where this goes, but unbelievable how terrible a company can treat their customers. again their customers! i should have listed to everyone else who said how horrible they were and went with a different contractor. trying to figure out how they can still be in business.

If you want to be scammed/sold on bs, these are the boys for you! First, the lady on the phone who set up my appointment asked me for my billing address. I asked if there was a charge for the estimate and she says rudely (like I was stupid), "No, but if you're gonna go with us, we'll need that info right?" I said, "well I'd think that could be asked later, but it's the same as the address I just gave you." I almost canceled it then and wished I had.
My meeting with them for an estimate lasted 3 minutes. I invited Jose in and the first thing he said was "I want to ask a couple questions to figure out what's best for you." I thought, "Okay cool, I'm glad he wants to listen." after telling him, he says, "No, you don't want that, here's why.". He told me no one in Omaha uses 3 tab shingles (liar, they weren't my first quote) he continued to tell me 3 tab shingles last only 5-10 years.
My current roof is over 20 years old and have 3 tab. Anyway, I called him out on his bs and told him I have family members in roofing and have had other quotes, his response was, "Oh". I said, you came here to up sell me and that's a waste of my time. I told him sorry to waste his time and I opened the door. Don't bother!

This would be zero stars if possible. We chose Valley Boys after experiencing hail damage in a storm. Our neighbors had used them and it 'appeared' they had done decent work. Initially meeting with them went fine. We have a 'unique' older Tudor home, our roof having many angles and pitches, and cedar shake shingles, along with three additional outbuildings.
To begin with, we decided not to have our gutters replaced, as there were only a few dings in them, and they were only about a year old. This was written into our contract and they agreed they would be as careful as possible, but since it will be a construction site, there is always a chance something could happen. Day one of tear off begins, and my wife comes home to see all of our downspouts crushed from people walking on them, and a full grown man literally standing on a section of gutter, bending it beyond repair.
We obviously then had to have our gutters replaced at that point. After the fact when working with our insurance company, we found out that Valley Boys created a change order and submitted to insurance for way more linear feet of gutter than they replaced. We did not approve the change and we're not informed that it even existed by Valley Boys.
The list of screw ups and 'billing mistakes' (you can decide if it sounds fraudulent) was amazing. We also had a covered patio which has an original (80 plus yrs old) tongue and groove ceiling. Again there were notes in our contract that the roof of the patio had to have shorter nails used so that they would not damage the ceiling. Again, my wife comes home (with no on site manager to be found) and there is the crew nailing right through our tongue and groove ceiling.
They roofed over our kitchen vent exhaust. We had to point it out so they could tear everything up and re-do it. When they roofed the portion where our attic fan was, they left tar paper covering most of the opening to the attic, causing the fan motor to burn up and fail. They refused to admit that it was their fault until I climbed into the attic, video taped it and sent them video proof.
They then agreed to replace it, weeks later. This was during the height of summer, which rendered our upstairs humid and incredibly smelly as the plywood off gassed. As we became incredibly skeptical I decided to check our outbuildings. We found that on the two smaller outbuildings, where the contract and associated bill indicated that they replaced all the plywood base, none was actually replaced, and they shingled over the original plywood, while billing our insurance over $800 for materials.
They again disagreed with my assessment until I provided them with photographic evidence, and then claimed it was an oversight and adjusted the bill accordingly. In the end both sides took legal action that I won't get into, but needless to say it was the single worst interaction with a business we have ever had.

We got roof hail damage on April 11, 2013 - it is now February 28, 2014 and not a SINGLE thing has been done by Valley Boys other than taking $5,800.00 of our money (which is only @ 25% of what they estimate it will cost). We kept getting moved back and moved back and moved back until it was too cold to roof. One reason is because we asked for an ITEMIZED estimate, which they have pretty much refused to give.
I agree with the person below - they are SCAM ARTISTS! I work in the construction industry - if you try and 'get rich fast' off of people your reputation will fall and fall fast. But if you supply honest work for an honest price you will be successful. This is a terrible company, I DO NOT recommend using them!
