In 1979, Alrac Electric began on owner Robert Hefley's back porch. Named after his wife and business partner, Carla spelled backwards, Robert had an A-listing for the phone book which, back then, was very important. Alrac quickly grew and moved into what is now known as the Pearl District in Tulsa.

For thirty years, business operated out of that location until there was no more room to expand. A building nearly 100 years old, just a few blocks away was purchased for Alrac's future location. Alrac prides itself on not advertising but rather, relying on word of mouth, repeat clients, and customer referrals.

Give the outside of your house some lighting love, too! Exterior lighting has been an early mainstay of Alrac's scope of services. While working through the years with many renowned landscape and lighting designers, Alrac has been very successful in the design and installation of large and small systems.

Floor Heat

Much like snowmelt, electric heat cables are installed on floors before tile or wood is installed. Interior floor heating is usually installed as a secondary heat source to remove the chill of cold floors. All systems are thermostat controlled with a full range of personal settings. Most areas installed are bathrooms and kitchens.

Generators

Twenty years after starting Alrac in September of 1979 we decided to enter the standby generator market in 1999. It was not until then that we could sell the idea to homeowners. The fear of Y2K power failure was too great for some people and hence, we sold a few.

Robert and his group do wonderful work. They have done electrical work for my family for years and they always do a fantastic job. They may not be the cheapest but they are definitely the best.
