My name is Bruce Hunter and I am the President of Tacoma Roofing & Waterproofing. You might not know it, but in the roofing business you learn this trade by starting from the bottom and working your way up. Back in 1978 after a stint in the Navy, I started on the rooftops as an apprentice roofer. Some of the finest roofing men in the business trained me and soon after I started my first roofing company.Over the past 34 years, we have installed more than 11,000 residential and commercial roofs. I'm giving Tacoma Roofing & Waterproofing an excellent review because my residential roof replacement was done right. Tony their estimator did a very thorough job inspecting my home for any type of ventilation or leak issues. I was given options as to the type of roof, original or upgrade to GAF Ridge Vent system. From there the delivery of roofing materials was timely and roofing started immediately thereafter.
The job site PM Damon kept things moving, prevented delays, and kept me updated. The roofers were great guys and came onsite enthusiastic and ready to work, and performed the work with attention to detail. Afterwards they did a nice job of cleaning up the debris. Also, there office staff was pleasant when I had questions and needed help. Bruce, you have a great team and glad I called upon Tacoma Roofing to refurbish my roof. My roof looks excellent. Thanks

**Update** After my comments Tacoma Roofing & Waterproofing contacted me and wanted to make things right. They have sent their best roofers to make the repairs and the manager has personally verified the work. I originally gave them a one star review but because they have made things right I have changed it to a three star. Original Post I recently bought a brand new house that had its roof installed by Tacoma Roofing & Waterproofing.
To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement, since the purchase of our home (about 2 years) we have had three significant issues with their roof. The first issue happened during a mild storm, I had 2 shingles blow completely off the roof. The second issue we had was with the shingles along the roofs edge had begun to separate from the roof along the gutter.
I called Tacoma Roofing & Waterproofing to come out and fix both issues with the shingles. I found the receptionist to be very polite and I will say they did responded in a timely manner. However, when the roofer showed up I requested prior to starting any work that he provide me an assessment of the damage and an estimate of the repair. I never received a phone call so I assumed the repair was covered under warranty.
Two weeks later I received a $350.00 bill in the mail for the repairs. I called the office and complained about not receiving an estimate and that they performed the repair without my consent. The manager apologized via the receptionist and waived the bill. With that all said you could only image my frustration when we discovered last night that we have a leak in my living room and water has begun to run down my walls.
I have another roofing company scheduled to come out to asses my two year old roof and make repairs as needed. I wouldn't recommend this roofing company to anyone and wish we could give negative stars, better yet a black hole.
