Report
Belt Drive garage door openers are the smoothest, quietest, most reliable systems you can buy. Belt-driven openers are similar in design to chain-driven models, except a reinforced belt is what pushes or pulls the trolley. The belts may be made of fiberglass, polyurethane, or steel-reinforced rubber. Belt-driven openers are just as reliable as chain-driven openers but quieter.

Our garage door would only open halfway and this company was prompt in sending Mark to address the problem. Mark explained clearly what had happened, suggested couple of options and gave accurate time estimates for the work completion. He even made a couple of recommendations on how to take care of small issues with the garage door. Would highly recommend Mark and his company!

OMAR is absolutely THE BEST! He got the job done very quickly! Super nice guy! He's the go-to guy! If you are in the 805 area they service our area. (as well as many others) Totally worth the call. CALL SAFEWAY FIRST. I promise you will not be disappointed! Ask for OMAR. I had a different problem the last time Safeway came out (I think it was Omar then too!) He took the time to give us some tips on keeping our garage door parts in their best condition and we follow his advice and my 20 year old garage doors parts only have normal wear and tear issues. (We had a broken spring this time) Obviously, I ALWAYS use Safeway! I have recommended them to many others that thanked me for the referral! Thank you OMAR! You are very much appreciated!

Our garage door spring needed replacing and it was difficult to access because of a storage space that was built on top of it. Mark did a great job working with the limited space. He was kind and willing to take on a difficult project. I appreciate his work ethic and honesty. Thank you for helping us! Our garage works again! Highly recommend Mark!

We were extraordinarily impressed and pleased by the exceptional level of service we received by Safeway garage. Our technician came to our home promptly after his full diagnostic of the problem he completed all repairs while showing great care to our home. He also educated us on the proper use of our door and explained what was required for annual maintenance. We would highly recommend them for any of your garage door repair needs!

Omar arrived right on time for my repair appointment and was the friendliest, most honest, respectful and knowledgeable person I've met in regards to home repair. He fixed my issue in no time at all, and had no trouble figuring out what the problem was. I will 100% calling Omar back for anything else in the future. Couldn't be happier! Thanks Omar!

This company is a joke, I called to make an appointment with this company older woman name Rida or Frida picked up. I explained the situation and told them My schedule. Then she called and being rude and not scheduling properly. I explained my hours and seemed she didn't understand English. Then she tried to give me 7 hours window to dig and wait. The should hire better customer service people will not work with them.

Had to use this company per our home owners insurance and WOW! And not a good wow either. Technician showed up.pushed the garage door opener switch, said yeah there is no power to it.yeah I already know this. He looked up at the opener said it was a little dated and then stated the logic board went out. How he knew this by looking at it and not running any other test I don't know.
First work order the technician tried to have me sign stated I had my garage door opener plugged into a green extension cord which caused my opener to short and was a fire hazard. I caught this and pointed out it had it's own power source and had nothing to do with a green extension cord. He ripped up that work order and wrote up something totally different.
It stated the logic board was shorted out, rollers were bad and door needed an adjustment. Again great technician work knowing all this just by looking at it. I guess right. Then my home owners insurance calls me and states the report they received is totally different than what I signed. Supposedly it was reported I continually used my opener on bad wheels, continually used my opener while my door was out of balance and thus this use shorted out the logic board.
How was this reported when the paperwork I signed only said the logic board was bad. So glad I took a picture of what I signed prior to the technician leaving. I wouldn't use this company nor would I give them my money or a recommendation! Don't go through their dispatch either.girl on the phone says a technician can tell what is wrong with a garage door just by looking at it; logic board is out, springs are bad, door needs adjustment, etc. All by looking at it and not even testing or touching the door.why.because he's a technician! Oh yeah and now the owner is out of town for an unknown duration.

The two gentlemen who came were extremely nice. They assessed the issue with my Garage Door that got stuck and it's resolution. I have a home warranty but this issue was maintenance and not covered. The Garage Door needed rebalancing. A fairly quick fix and only $65 to repair on top of the home warranty cost of $85 for service. Was relieved it wasn't anything worse. I hope to use this company for any future issues. Thank you Safeway!

Worst garage door repair company ever. Rude techs and customer service. Left with my opener not working correctly and shaking violently during opening. Tech tried to charge me 200 dollars to change wheels and said that was the problem. Mind you this can be purchased for 20 dollars on Amazon and replaced very easily. I completed it in 10min. Anyways door still not working and they came out twice. These guys are thieves. Don't use them. Did I mention how rude they are?

This company is a rip-off. The technician showed up at my house and within 3 minutes said he couldn't fix it, but then they submitted an invoice to my insurance company for which I now have to pay the deductible. Not only was their technician incompetent, but he was rude and didn't really want to be bothered to do the work. I hired someone else to fix my garage door and they fixed the problem within 10 minutes, which really proved how incompetent the technician at Safeway Garage doors was.

First and foremost Rocky the service technician is probably one of the most passive aggressive person I have ever encountered. There are bigger problems going on with my garage, instead I was given a load of lackluster garbage assumptions which denied my claim with home warranty. My garage door was not so closing properly and the first thing he screams, like literally scream "oh it's your sensor alignment.
You don't know how many jobs I've been too where the sensors aren't aligned, I am 100% this is causing the issue!" My reply was: Okay well then Rocky, see if you could align the sensors and correct the issue. He attempted to align the sensor which did absolute nothing. Now he's literally screaming again "pinched wires somewhere".
At this point, I was just receptive to have the problem fixed although Rocky lacked interest as if he was too "qualified" for this job and I was wasting his time. I told Rocky I no longer needed his service since home warranty was not going to cover the repairs based on his feedback. A few months later I finally took the initiative and ordered new garage wires to take on the job myself which was pretty straight forward to complete. Rocky was wrong again.
The problem still persisted. I said F this and ordered a brand new unit and installed everything myself. My garage door works perfectly now. Rocky, get a grip and try to help. You literally wasted everyone's time with your so called profound "expertise"

Omar was assigned to me through my home warranty because my garage opener was only opening not closing and it was making a loud noise. Omar adjusted the garage door then removed the light bulb from the motor and told me the led light bulb was the reason the opener wasn't working (it had been in there for a couple years and the problem just started happening so?).
Then he tried to sell me a part that was not covered by my warranty and gave me his cell number to call if I wanted it. Told me a bunch of nonsense about the neighborhood blocking the transmitter. After he left, the problem was not fixed. Called company back, Omar came out again, looked at my remote for all of 5 seconds and again told me I needed that part he tried to sell me the first time.
I asked him to explain how it was a problem with the transmitter when the opener would work just fine from far away and he could not explain this to me then became angry that I was questioning him, got in his vehicle, told me not to call his company again unless I wanted the transmitter and the took off. I'm not sure if it's a cultural thing (a bit of a language barrier also) but I'm sure he would not have spoke to a man that way. After he left, I honestly felt concerned that this shady, unprofessional and dishonest person knows where I live. Sad actually!

Wow. This company has the worst technicians. Ours deliberately wrote an invoice that was incorrect and tried to make sure our home owners warranty would dismiss our claim. Our garage door motor was a 2014 model and this guys said that our garage door was too heavy, and springs were the wrong size, causing it to break. So it works perfectly for 7 years and then now it's because of the springs? It's because we use it as our main way of coming and going into the house (we never use our front door) and the motor had enough. opening and closing 10 to 15 times a day.
On top of that, he started to quote me close to $1500 dollars for parts and labor, without even trying to go through First American. Such a con-artist. I also tried to get ahold of a supervisor or manager to make a complaint, and 3 days later, still no return phone call. I guess they don't care about customer service. Looks like this happened to many other people after reading more reviews.
Please don't waste your time or money with this company. Don't let "Ibrahim Abdul" come to your house either. He'll break your garage even more, before leaving. We couldn't secure the garage door anymore once he messed with it. That was a nice little touch as well.

Overcharged on b.s. fees and then pressured into up-sell by service man named Obei. I've had work done twice before by this company and they were pretty good. This time, a surprise 'service call' fee was added the invoice after the work was quoted incl. parts and labor. I even looked at my previous invoices and never was I charged a service call fee. Normally, when you give someone work, then don't charge you for driving out to you so you can give them work, right?
I called back their dispatch to verify if this service fee was legitimate but it's just an answering service, and I'm pretty sure the guy's wife answered the phone. On top of this, the guy was trying to convince me to do other work based on seeing some cracks in the garage door frame which are not related to the structure. I won't be using this service again. Good job Obei. You just screwed your employer's reputation for an extra $85.

Scam Beware! This company was recommended by First American Home Warranty to come out and look at my broken garage door. The minute they got there they insisted it was from negligence. I moved into this house 10 months ago. The garage door is about 25/30 years old. They called me the day after to see if I wanted their bulshit non-covered recommendations, then I called First American Home Warranty and they hadnt received anything from this place. Do not go with this company or First American Home Warranty. Both are running a First American Home Scam.

Fraudulent company! Do not use. I had a sensor issue with my garage. I wanted to get fixed for safety reasons. It wouldn't stop when it was closing and something got underneath door (for example a child, or car). So I called and made a claim with my home warranty. 2 guys came I explained everything and proceeded to open the garage door with a key pad.
They started to look at everything and pull out wires (which I found odd but thought they were fixing it) One of the guys proceeded to say I should secure my motor better for safety reason and said that's not covered in warranty which I was like ok good to know but lets focus on the sensors for now. So I went back in my place to wait for them to complete. An hour later he brings me down and says you need to rewire which will cost 85 dollars and need to secure motor better for 120 and warranty doesn't cover.
Then proceeded to try to sell me a new door. I then circled back to my sensor issue and he said I can't do that until you rewire. So I was like? ok let me think about all these additional cost and let you know. I then proceeded to close the door using the key pad and it wasn't working now. He was like the door doesn't work so your not going to be able to close that way.
I was like it has always work that wasn't the issue, he proceeded to say no it didn't work you need to rewire. I was like you saw me open the door with key pad and it was fine! Now it doesn't open or close with key pad. On top of everything its on major street so the door can be open manually by anyone. I have a whole new set issues now. Do not use this company they are shady and trying to scam you out of more money.

I had the same experience as other yelpers. This company completely lied to First American, telling them I had a load of issues that were simply false. In fact, they claimed the same door issues word for word as some other yelpers posted below. This in turn allowed First American to deny my claim. Then Omar tried wheeling and dealing with me, stating first that first American won't cover anything and then telling me he'll cut me a deal on replacing my whole system, something even he said I didn't need!
When I asked his office for an estimate, they then proceeded to send me completely inflated dollar amounts. And they yelled at me over the phone. Absolutely ridiculous. Avoid these idiots at all costs.

STAY AWAY! My First American warranty company denied my claim because of lies on the work order by this company. My garage structure is less than 5 years old, but he stated that the rollers were bad, yet he (Omar) couldn't show me one. Also stated that led bulbs on the opener caused a logic board to fail. BS! LED bulbs will cause remote interference, and nothing else. If you have First American and have garage problems, request a different company!

They came and fixed the garage but I felt cheated. I paid 75 for my warrantee visit, plus they charged 130 for their labor. Then they charged my mon (I was in a meeting) 130 because the cost of the "garage cable" wasn't covered. The garage cable is worth 30. How the man could take advantage of an older lady is just plain mean. I swear home warrantees and these businesses are a scam. Hoping some day there is a serious penalty identified.

I had an appointment for Safeway Garage Doors to come to my house this morning between 8-11 to fix my garage door. At 8:04, I got a text that the tech was on his way. I waited in my front room, near the front door, for the truck to arrive. From there I can see the street and my driveway. At 8:24 I got a text that the tech was at my house and nobody was home.
There was no truck, no tech! I called the office at 8:27 to say that there was some kind of mistake because the tech was not at my house. The guy answering the phone confirmed the address with me and called the tech, who claimed that he had come to my house. I was told that the tech left after ringing my doorbell! I explained that this was not true, I was right here the whole time staring out my window.
The guy stuck to his story, claiming that the tech came to my house and I was not here! WTF?!?! I rearranged my work schedule to be available for this service call. This company totally wasted my time and LIED ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. I later got a text saying that the tech would come back later after he did some other service calls. Forget it. I am working later, and also why would I want a liar on my property? He'd probably lie about the problem and overcharge me. UGH what a way to start a day. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

Overall, I was very pleased. This was a visit through my recent home purchase, via the home warranty plan that was included. I never thought I'd need it within 2 weeks of moving in. The garage door suddenly wouldn't close properly - at times it would close 3/4 of the way and then bounce back to fully open. My son said to call the warranty company (Fidelity National) and see if it might be covered, which they said it WAS!
I pleaded with the warranty company to please make the visit quick as I couldn't close the door (which thru add'l trying repeatedly I at least got it closed for overnight). They came on the early side of the open window given to me as I had called the company myself the next morning to request an early visit if possible. I also asked the gal if she could call when she finds out when he's coming.
She did both and I was impressed, letting me know he was on his way. He arrived, assessed the issue - broken spring - and started immediately. I was HOPING both springs would be replaced as I had been told it's best to do that as it would only be a matter of time before the "other" one would break. My policy did allow that and I was shocked! He said that my warranty company was his favorite as they were generous in what they allowed with seldom any arguments.
That was reassuring, too. He quickly went to work and replaced both springs. He was almost ready to leave when I noticed a short piece of metal (one foot long?) sticking out at a right angle from the door (inside), which could have been quite a hazard. I mentioned it, he walked over and used his fist to bang it back in, where it belonged. That's my only gripe, really - this was something HE should have noticed and taken care of. Other than that, this company performed admirably and I was definitely happy.

Do Not use this company. The service Technician Rocky was rude and unprofessional. He diagnosed my garage door improperly causing my First American home warranty to deny the repairs. he came to diagnose the garage door where the motor clearly did not work and said he would contact me to schedule a return appointment for the repair after the home warranty reads his report.
He Lied. Instead he wrote a report that my rollers were bad and the garage door balance was not set properly. He did not even mention the motor no longer works. because of his badly diagnosed report i was denied and now have a garage door that does not work. He was never honest with me and it was obvious that he did not want to do the work. So if you use this company and Rocky gets dispatched to your house don't trust anything he says.

Prior service was good but todays service was terrible! The technician had zero customer service! Worst Customer Service we have ever experienced! I strongly reccommend never to use their service! At the beginning of this year we had them install our garage doors they were fine. This visit was far from that! The technician was unprofessional. Did not listen to our needs, kept arguing and speaking over us. He was rude and condescending and kept raising his voice! An extremely disappointed customer!

Nick is an amazing technician who replaced our garage door spring and cables today very quickly and efficiently. Not only was his work great, but he was extremely customer service-oriented, knowledgeable and friendly. He also took the extra time to coordinate authorization with our home warranty company. Thanks Nick and Safeway Garage Doors for the great experience we had and a garage door we can open again!

My technician, Nick, was very professional, courteous and informative. He basically had to replace the whole garage door opener but took the time to explain everything to me so I understood why I needed the whole thing replaced. He was fast and completely left my garage cleaned up like he wasn't even here. I really appreciate the work he did and will recommend him to my family and friends in the future.

I've had terrible experience with my home warranty contractors, sent out to do repairs. Yesterday Rocky from Safeway Garage Doors sent by my home warranty service, was out to repair my garage door opener. Rocky was timely in showing up for the repairs, diagnosed the problem and fixed the door opener in less than an hr. His professionalism and workmanship was superior to most contractors that I've had the opportunity to work with. His employer should be proud to have him as their employee. Keep up the good work Rocky.

I will definitely recommend this company based on my recent experience concerning my garage door issue. I filed a claim yesterday with my warranty insurance and this company called me instantly this morning. They even accomodated my request to be serviced today which I really appreciate. The technician, Rocky, arrived on time. He didn't waste any time and went to work looking at the issue and provided his expert opinion on the matter. The job was done fast but efficient, without sacrificing quality of work. For garage door issues, i will surely get this company in a heart beat. Again, Thanks!

Prior service was great! Today, not so great. The serviceman who showed up today to replace our garage-door opener was rude and unprofessional. He didn't even know why we scheduled the appointment. When I got. home after work, I went out to the garage, and found that Mark (the serviceman) left the empty box and trash in the garage. He has a terrible attitude and work ethic. SAD
