I've tried to ignore the constant requests for feedback for a few weeks hoping to avoid having to say something negative, but I keep getting asked to "share my experience", so here goes. When the plumber came to my house to clear the kitchen drain, he spent about a half hour trying to sell me a protection program. He had all the estimates for the plan on his tablet.
All I wanted was to clear my drain. I was told it would cost $400 for the standard fee) so after refusing the warranty program, and agreeing on just the drain, he finally went to work taking off the P-trap, and using a snake. The drain worked and he cleaned up (about 15 minutes of work). He gave me the impression that the drain might clog again because he wanted to see the crawlspace door just in case they had to come back, and he told me the crawl space was too small to work in (the house is 100 years old) so if they needed to be called back, they'd probably have to cut up the floor in the kitchen to get to the clog.
He picked up his tools, had me sign a few electronic forms on his tablet, then he hung around for another 15 min. telling me about his life story. The next morning our drain clogged again, as he predicted. I called the shop and we arranged another visit (included in the original $400 fee), and I was told we only got one free visit, and we'd have to pay more for anything beyond this.
On the next visit, the same process was done, but the drain couldn't be cleared. As the plumber was gathering his tools, he mentioned there was a drain cleaner we might try. He said to try "Thrift " drain cleaner, but we couldn't get it locally, and had to order it on line. three day later, we got the drain cleaner. it worked, and we haven't had a problem since. My advice. if you are remodeling, or have damaged plumbing Wickstrom Plumbing might be way to go. But this was and continues to be a major disappointment to me.

Chris Britt was very knowledgeable about our old oil-fired hot water heating system. We have had trouble finding someone with that knowledge. Chris and his partner did a very efficient job and told us several ways to improve the efficiency of our existing system. I would recommend Wickstrom Heating without hesitation. Maintenance of our heating, AC and plumbing systems is so easy with our Wickstrom Maintenance Plan! It's AC check-up time and on Wednesday, Austin and Caylee showed up to take care of that annual maintenance. Such nice people, very efficient and good at explaining everything about the services they provided. As usual, 5 star service from Wickstrom's 5 star employees!

Wickstrom Service Co. has never disappointed. I have had regular maintenance services plus extras like having the hot water heater flushed, new faucets installed, toilet guts replaced. Most recently I had my heater repaired and a humidifier added. I have met David, Jason, Caylee, and Austin--all of whom have been on time, professional, and thorough.

In December 2021 I found a small main line water leak after an unusually high water bill. I had several companies come bid the job including Wickstrom. While not the lowest bid, Wickstrom secured my business for a few reasons. Not only were they prompt, they pulled in the appointment in 2 hours ahead of the original estimate. The dispatch system is fantastic, kept me up to date, and even provided a photo of the team member who is on their way.
When Chance arrived, he was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He quickly assessed the job and within 15 minutes had a bid written up with multiple options. He explained each thoroughly and answered all my questions. While other companies who subcontract these jobs seemed unsure and indecisive, Wickstrom, who does the work themselves, were decisive and confident in their abilities.
When the work began, the team, Colton, Max and Chance, arrived promptly, coordinated with DigLine, inspectors, and got right to work. Within a few hours the work was complete and a couple of days later state inspections were completed. The day after inspections, the crew arrived promptly in the morning, filled in the small trench, and even returned the perma-bark close to its original state.
You can barely tell they were there. Within a week, we also received a thank you card form Wickstrom with a gift card for future work or to give along with a referral. Fantastic touch to round out an already exceptional experience. Well done, Wickstrom, we've already passed the card to our friends for referral.

Had a leak in my main water line. Because I have the coverage via Suez, they had Wickstrom contact me and set up an appointment. Kody came out and advised that the line was repairable but also offered to provide me a quote to have the line replace. I have a very old house and have had issues with the main line in the past. Because the line runs through my neighbors yard I decided to pull the trigger and have the line replaced.
It was still going to be going through their yard, but with a new line I figured there won't be an issue for a long long time. Kameron and Max showed up on Thursday and got to work right away. It was determined that b/c the line was so old it was better to re-route the line through my yard. There was no additional cost for the alternate plan. They had a few issues throughout the processes but kept me in the know the entire time.
I appreciate their communication with me throughout. Kody came on the final day to help finish the project and put things back to normal. I greatly appreciate them answering any questions I had and doing their best to put things as they were. I did have a slight issue about 2 weeks after they left with the holes settling but called and they scheduled a correction with in a week.
Over all a very happy with the service and work provided. The three workers were very knowledgeable, friendly and easy to work with. Would recommend to others and use again in the future.

We noticed a higher than normal water bill and suspected a water line leak. Our insurance company contacted Wickstrom Plumbing and they promtly sent Colton to detect the leak which he quickly did. Kody, Colton, and Chance were able to excavate the lawn to get to the leak and repaired it. While repairing that leak they noticed another smaller leak at our sprinkler bax which they also fixed.
Our 30 year old toilet was also having trouble so Wickstrom sent out Blake and Carson to see what was wrong and they gave us some options which we elected to replace the toilet. They were able to replace it the following day quickly and efficiently. Kelly in the office and all the plumbers that were here, Kody, Colton, Chance, Blake, and Carson were very efficient, friendly, courteous. and knowledgeable. I would happily welcome any of them back for any future plumbing needs.

We had ur heater in our shop going out and they sent Chris out the next day. He did a great job. Was able to find all the parts for our old heater. (We had another guy come out and say it was an old system and would never be able to find the parts and we should just replace the whole system). Chris and Austin got all the parts and came back the next day and had it going again. Couldn't be happier to be warm again!

Had a really great experience with the guys at Wickstorm! Back around Christmas we opened our water bill and it was double what it usually is. Called the city and they said you probably have a broken pipe in your yard to the house. Our landlord called Wickstorm and scheduled a leak detect. Chance showed up to do the leak detect and was super awesome and professional! Made sure to test everything and make sure nothing in the house is leaking. Turns out the toilets do have a small leak but Chance was great to clean up the water.
The larger problem is the pipe in the yard, Couple days later Kody & Max show up with the Excavator! Kody was so chill about my girls watching him dig in the yard. He went out of his way to show me how to shut the main water line valve off. The job was quick and Kody made sure I got the right photos Incase this ever happens again. Seriously can't speak highly enough!
My only complaint was that the scheduler messed up pretty bad and said someone was going to show up and they didn't. My husband took vacation to make sure he was home. We weren't too happy when no one showed. Thanks Kody, Chance and Max for a job well done! Thank you for also considering our neighbors! You guys are so amazing!

I am giving Wickstrom 5 stars for several reasons. The office gal, Helen is always communicative and friendly. They installed an EZ Water filter system for us and Chris who did the Install was awesome. It was a smooth install and Chris was very knowledgeable about the system as well as other plumbing questions I had. He proved great customer service and we will definitely hire him to do other work. Great job!

Okay.ups & downs Prompted by our septic pump alarm, we called Wickstrom Plumbing on a Monday to locate & diagnose the problem. One at-times-very-frustrating-week later we have a new pump & operational septic system. The Down-Side: Though not an unusual or overly-complex problem, the path to resolution was lengthy & convoluted, some of which can be attributed to "things happen - that's life" but the remainder seemed attributable to a lack of attention to detail and/or inexperience: (1) failing to confirm/compare voltages of old/new pumps, (2) seeming inability to identify (or minimally advise) the difference between "grinder" & "ejector" pumps, (3) poor communication both with us & internally, (4) not showing up with standard locator equipment (I was told said equipment was across the valley on another job site - my offer to pick up it up was declined, (5) at which point the worker dug randomly until the office retrieved the Health Dept. diagram) (6) then "guesstimating" where to dig rather than measuring per instructions from the boss, and (7) instead of acknowledging & rectifying the 3-foot error I politely identified, literally digging himself in deeper (and wider) to no avail. (After this worker left we located & excavated the tank ourselves.) While all of this wasn't costing us money per se, it WAS costing us TIME, frustration, showers, laundry, etc.) I can't address the price, as the estimate was a lump sum rather than hourly rate + materials, which made comparison difficult, plus by the time we received the verbal quote I didn't have the heart to call other companies to compare, as we were already in for an afternoon's work - primarily wasted digging. Wickstrom had been recommended by a friend, so we just took deep breaths & crossed our fingers.
On the Up-Side: Wickstrom seems to have good intentions/practices in striving to be a professional organization, i.e. licensed, bonded, longer-than-average limited warranty, membership in professional trade organizations. Getting through to owner Scott was a CHALLENGE, but once accomplished, he did his best to be accommodating Scott did not know what kind of pump had been ordered (worker who ordered had taken the rest of the day off & could not be reached) but if we didn't like that pump, he would keep it as a future "loaner" while we discussed and selected another, which turned out to be unnecessary.third time proved to be the proverbial charm.
We had received nothing in writing prior to the final invoice, which had me nervous. The back side of the invoice outlined their "Terms & Conditions" including hold harmless clauses for natural consequences of their work which might cause property damage & absolving them of keeping gates/doors closed for children or animals.disheartening! Fortunately, all the workers were conscientious - we had no difficulties with property damage or pet escapes. Hoping this review provides helpful insights into our roller-coaster experiences with having a septic pump replaced by Wickstrom Plumbing. It's so much easier to accomplish when the experience is either awful or stellar!

Wickstroms provided us with excellent and expedient service. Helen, dispatcher, was very kind and accommodated our busy schedule and then kept me apprised as to the arrival of the technician. Our technician, Chris, went above and beyond what was necessary to make sure all of our issues were dealt with and explained thoroughly. I highly recommend Wickstrom Heating and Plumbing for their superior customer service and knowledge of heating and cooling systems.

I called for a tune-up of my furnace and take advantage of a Groupon coupon for this Co. Had never dealt with them before and was looking forward to hopefully finding a good service orientated company. Well, the tech showed up and immediately started telling me everything that was wrong with my furnace, water heater and electrical panel. Then he asked me to go turn on my furnace, when I came back out to the garage, he was wiggling around my infuser motor while telling me there was a crack around it and it's not working properly.
I guess being a women, he thought he could sell me a new part and got upset when I told him I wanted a second opinion and wanted him to leave. Even though I had a coupon, it was not good service at all.

We had our AC go out and called late in the afternoon to see about a time to have it looked at. They were able to confirm a time the next morning. Chance and Chris showed up on time and looked at the system. I was advised of the trip charge before hand and after looking at the problem they advised what the problem was. They said they would look for the part, but being a very old system wasn't sure if anyone stocked the motor.
After a few minutes, I was told they had found one and what the cost would be to replace it and have the system checked and running correctly. They were both very professional and did a great job in getting our AC back up and running again. While the total cost was more than I was hoping for, the majority of the cost was the motor. I would use them again.

Broken water main to house. If you don't have United Water then prepare to pay 3-4 times over normal prices. We were charged a $79 trip fee and then after 2 hours had to call back twice to get the inflated quote. To replace 110 feet (using a bore) was $7700. I was told if it was open trench it would take 3-4 days with 2 guys on it. I would hate to see the bid for them to dig the Panama Canal. I wouldn't even recommend this company to my worst enemy.

Wickstrom Plumbing is a class act. I've used Wickstrom's services twice now. The first time was when my water line had a break last summer. Wickstrom is a preferred service provider for United Water's customers--and that told me a lot. The two plumbers were punctual, worked extremely hard (in the sweltering summer sun and heat of July 2013) and did terrific work.
The second time was today, when I needed shower and sink repairs. I'm not bothered at all by a dispatch fee of $39. (The other reviewer, Joel J., must not understand service fees--they don't drive to your residence for free!) A flat-rate fee is industry standard. And, after using another plumbing company in Boise--one with rates more than double those of Wickstrom--I am very pleased with both the quality of service and the rates.
If you want a responsible and capable plumbing company--and this one is family-run, which I really appreciate--call Wickstrom. United Water vouches for them, and now I do too. They're my family plumber.

Just be aware that they charge a flat rate rather than hourly. They charged me a $40.00 trip fee that they do not apply to the bill. Also the flat rate was $300.00 to do a job that took them only a half an hour. That amounts to a whopping $600.00 an hour and no parts were involved! The gentlemen were professional and courteous but they are very expensive.
