"After years in the Seattle roofing industry, I realized that although most roofers could nail a shingle, no one was focusing on the customer experience. Too often I saw customers being left frustrated by their roofing contractor. This was primarily due to lack of proper communication, inadequate cleanup and little attention to details.
I saw the need for a roofing company that truly delivered a great customer experience every single time, along with the highest quality roof. So I started Valentine Roofing in the spring of 2008 and the results have been fantastic!" "Valentine Roofing operates at a higher standard.

The roof looked great, and Fransisco and his team took off that ugly satellite dish which really improved the look of our roof considerably! Mark, the estimator, gave a good presentation on what to expect and gave us shingle samples to run by our HOA for approval. Janice was very good at telling us when to expect the roofers each day and any problems they ran into which cost us a little more on the bill. All in all a good experience!

We have a fairly new roof that is in good shape, except that we were getting leaks around the skylights over our balcony. The roof pitch is very shallow so the roofing has to be perfect or a leak will occur. Valentine Roofing sent out an estimator and he determined what was going on and gave us a few options. He did not try to sell us a new roof! That was the first sign that this is an honest company.
Many of the roofing outfits don't want repair work, they want the big, full roof replacement jobs. Chuck, the estimator, was pleasant and thorough, giving us all the information we needed to make a good decision. He sent us an estimate and we got on the schedule. There was a requirement for a 20% (I think) down payment to get on the schedule, but the pricing was so good that we had no problem with that.
They sent out one man, Tiago, and he was friendly, organized, thorough and worked a ten hour day to complete the job in one day! I don't think he stopped working at all. We were very impressed by his honesty, work ethic and demeanor. I try to be careful about giving out 5 star reviews, but this experience was so good I wanted to give them 10 stars! I highly recommend Valentine Roofing!

It started off great. Estimator was great, did a thorough job and even went through our crawl space. We had another roofing company even try to give us a quote by just looking at the exterior. Pricing was fair, wasn't the most expensive and we felt confident to choose them based on our conversations with the estimator. We were actually not supposed to get our roof done until a month out but we actually had a leak through our ceiling from a bad storm so they moved up the project to the next week.
So far we thought, so far so good. The actual construction itself was when the good service stopped. The crew gave NO warning that they were going to be throwing things off the roof as they were removing the old roof. I was going in and out of my house/car and shingles, wood, etc. were flying all over the place; I could have easily gotten hit as these pieces literally landed right next to me.
They had a really incompetent project manager who didn't communicate anything to anyone. He told his crew the roof was done so they cleared the work place and drove the big dump bin away. I looked up at the roof and it was CLEARLY half complete. We called Valentine and they were like "the project manager indicated that the job was completed." Mmmmm.no, you need to bring the crew back.
This happened like another 2 more times where they crew left and the JOB WAS NOT DONE. My husband actually had to go on the room himself to double check this. This is not our job to check your work! What if we had never called back to let them know the roof was incomplete? Would they have just left it?! Also the crew threw their trash everywhere. I had to go around my house picking up the plastic bottles, random plastic and wood pieces. EVENTUALLY the roof was complete. Leaves me still wondering how long this roof will last. I'm concerned after seeing how this crew was that shingles will just fly off during the next storm or back to my original problem of leakage or the entire thing would just collapse.

Valentine Roofing reminds one of a lot of car dealerships where they are your best friend up to final payment, after that good luck. I have had a major leak as soon as first rains hit after installation (no leak in same area from 25-year-old roof prior). They came out and pasted patching and materials covering section of roof to block water, but nothing afterwards, not even phone call returns.
Call them and all you get is menu options with no direct contacts. Their warranty is nothing but paper. Action speaks louder than words. Overpriced and average quality at best.

I paid top dollar for a new roof. After 6 1/2 years there was a leak (I noticed no one else in my neighborhood had leaks). They first came out and put a tarp on the roof. I was told by one tech they reviewed the job during a weekly meeting and it was an example of what not to do! There were numerous nails used. I noticed after the second guy left there was damage to the trim.
I called Valentine's and it took more than two weeks to return my call. I was shown by the third guy at my house that the was siding was damaged near the roof that I couldn't see from the ground. I finally heard back from Valentine's and they refuse to fix the siding and only offered to caulk it. They will not replace the damaged siding! So I will need siding repaired before I paint my house again! Don't use this company!

Find another roofer. We hired Valentine Roofing to replace our roof this summer (2021). The final product seems to be good. As we are in the middle of the rain season, it seems to be holding up. Unfortunately we had a slew of issues through the process. Here's the list: 1. Roofing materials were dropped off in the wrong location at my neighbors front yard.
The delivery person dug the forklift into their yard causing damage. Valentine did pay to have the yard fixed. 2. Dumpster delivered to the wrong location. My husband had to chase it down and ask the driver to move it the right location. 3. Combative communication with staff. Our project manager's communication was inconsistent and vague at best.
I spent so much time trying to talk to people at Valentine. I was passed to one person after another. Most concerns were never addressed. 4. They used our outside outlets without our knowledge and overwhelmed the circuits resulted in half the house with no power for several days. We had to call in an electrician to repair. Valentine never reimbursed us for this. 5. To save face with my neighbors, we gifted them a bottle of wine. Valentine promised us $500 gift card to help pay for it. We never received it.

I would avoid using this company especially when it comes to gutters. After spending 30k on a new roof and gutters. We had leaking gutters and clean out boxes. We had several technicians come out and look from the company. Tell us one thing and then the company says that the technician didn't say that. I would advise that you would read your warranty and that you would record all conversations with technicians if they come to your home. Trust is not a word I would use to describe this company.

They had their employees use a make shift outhouse fashioned in the back of their work trailer. It leaked all over my driveway down my front entry. They left it there for 2 weeks never cleaning it, letting the hot summer heat cook away. When I finally figured out where the putrid smell was coming from I lost it. They left the site with nails and staples litter throughout my property. They ignored my complaints. The dumped raw sewage on my property, that should say enough. See pics

I signed a contract to have a new roof, and roofing insulation installed. I was told by the salesman that it would be completed mid to the end of July. It is mid June, now. The bid was high. Almost $30,000. But, I believed the salesman. Financing through them was approved. I received a call from their accountant who couldn't keep things straight. She constantly thought that I was another customer. Emails that I got said my interest rate on my loan was 4.99 percent one minute, to over 8 percent the next.
She stated that I would be contacted by my salesman; "Kevin", to finalize my contract, when my salesman was "Chris". Who is Kevin, I asked?. She kept confusing my account with another customer. Finally when I confronted them regarding their dysfunction, they canceled the contract. Go with another roofing company.

They did a good job, however, they put a smaller size flashing on the peak of our roof. We now have a line of old paint color. For the amount of money we spent i would have expected them to look at that and realize they needed the other size, they put the larger size everywhere else. We are senior's and do not have a ladder to get that high if we wanted to.
I now have to pay someone, if I can find someone, to come out and paint 3 of our roof lines. When we asked about it, their response is that is the size we always use on those areas. Very disappointing, would have expected better judgement from a roof professional.

We waited a couple months for a moss removal appointment. When they finally came out to perform the work they decided the roof wasn't accessible. They also quoted an all-inclusive price to include gutter cleaning. We have a leaf filter system and didn't need gutter cleaning. They said there's no discount, same price regardless. Our roof doesn't have a steep pitch.
I believe it was a Friday afternoon and they wanted to get off work early. They could have come out 2 months earlier or looked at the house on google maps to assess it. But they didn't. Now we have to start all over from scratch.

We had a great experience with Valentine Roofing. A lot of communication, texts and updates. They temporarily fixed our leak and then got us onto the schedule fairly quickly. Alex and his team did a wonderful job. We have a really steep roof and were glad to see they had all the safety equipment in place. They cleaned up at the end of every day and our roof looks awesome.
Whole thing took about 4 days. Prior to that we were on a list for another company that kept delaying due to lack of employees available. Valentine roofing was able to start within a month and now we don't have to worry about it!

We bought a house with roof under warranty from Valentine Roofing. After heavy rain this winter we noticed a leak as the drywall near the chimney started cracking and bubbling. They did send someone out right away when I sent pictures, but when he showed up he tried to lead me to believe that the roof was not leaking. Luckily I called again and asked for another opinion because the second person who came out agreed that it was leaking.
Ultimately they redid the counterflashing which was determined to have been improperly installed the first time around and then also came back after that installation and confirmed that the leak was now fixed so the counterflashing was the problem. The people who came out to fix it mentioned, in their opinion, that the drywall that was damaged because of that improper installation should be replaced.
Though now I had to deal with the office staff, who after not returning my calls a few times, told me their warranty does not cover damage inside the house. So we are stuck with damaged drywall caused by their bad work when they installed the roof. So definitely can't recommend them given the run around we got and the fact that the roof was poorly installed and has left us with damaged drywall that they will not fix.

Adding an update as we just had this leak fixed. I hired another company to fix it. According to the person that came out and did the work, the flashing that Valentine installed was leaking. They could tell that when they pulled the flashing up, water came out and the roofing below was wet. They also said that the mortar was failing in that section, and valentine had put caulk in instead of mortaring the new flashing.
Of the two companies that came and looked at this and gave us quotes, neither said using caulk this way was the right thing to do. All in all, it is my opinion, based on this information from the company that repaired this, that Valentine did a substandard job which failed one month after a 2 year warranty (there is no reason to believe if we had had a large rainfall event similar to the one we had a few weeks ago that it wouldn't have leaked prior to expiration of the warranty, but this of course is speculation).

Pros: Sales process, quality materials, roofing crew. I spoke to 5 different roofing companies before signing with Valentine Roofing out of Marysville. It's a large investment, though I think I might have been a small fish. The sales process was fantastic. Rob was very professional and took his time explaining things and walking me through the various services they offered.
Out of all the roofing companies I spoke to he was the only one to look in the attic to get a sense of what he was working with. The crew was professional and quick. Three days start to finish, which is impressive. Seems like a quality roof. Cons: Project management, communication, some damage. I know I wasn't their biggest job, and I know this pandemic hit when we were scheduled to have work done, but I ended up project managing the project manager.
I reached out to them the Friday before they were supposed to come out to figure out what to expect and if they were even still installing roofs (seems like something they should have done). A smart switch was fried during the insulation installation given the crew didn't ask where to draw power. My December special never made it to the work order and I didn't catch that until it was too late: "nothing we can do".
Our skylight shafts were damaged (cracks in the corners and junks fallen out during the installation of the new skylights). Then the final invoice ended up being wrong and was caught weeks after I had a document saying everything was paid in full and my loan had been secured. At the end of the day there were just too many admin errors for me to feel comfortable recommending Valentine Roofing.

I would absolutely not recommend this company. It's almost laughable that this company advertises their expertise in rainy season roof replacement, because my experience with them was a slow motion nightmare. The crew tore our old but watertight roof off only to find out halfway through the day that there was no plywood or shingles for our job!
This happened on a day when there were waves of heavy rainfall forecast for the next several days. The crew then installed a temporary covering on the roof ("don't worry, we do this all the time!") that leaked in dozens of places into my attic and onto my 100 year old plaster ceilings! The crew came back out and put some tarps on, but those were blowing in the wind by the following morning.
During installation, gaps were left in multiple places at the bottom of the roofline next to the fascia boards that we had to ask to be fixed. We had also asked for our skylight to be replaced, but it wasn't. The process took eight days from start to finish. The crew also left many nails and various other garbage around our home.

The crew at Valentine did an excellent job on my roof. The cleanup was spotless! I was amazed how I wouldn't have known that there was a crew of 6 here tearing off and replacing my roof the day before. I'm so pleased with my roof and the professionalism of the Valentine team! I would highly recommend them to any of my friends!

What started out great during the initial sales/consult experience quickly turned into a nightmare. There's little to no communication between the sales, scheduling, installation and payment offices. Because of that, there were problems every step of the process. At first that didn't bother me. until we had our gutters installed and had water leaking out the top of the downspouts and down the back of the fascia after the new install.
I immediately called to have them come back to fix the issue. While waiting for the leaks to be resolved, I received a letter from Valentine's attorney stating that a lawsuit would be filed for late payment. You have to be kidding me. Also, if you value safety during COVID, go with another company. Techs didn't wear masks during necessary conversations, even after I requested they do so (and wore one myself).

They did a fine job of cleaning my roof, and the yard was completely clean, you wouldn't have even known debris had come down. My only only complaint was that when obtaining the quote I was told Roof Anchors where required. However we could hear the tech cleaning the roof and then we heard the roof anchors being installed, AFTER the roof was clean and just before they came down to clean the yard.

UPDATE: Valentine contacted me after I shared about my experience and the manager was very nice. He was sincere and worked hard to make things right. When we decided to hire Valentine Roofing, they were the highest bid, but we went with Valentine for 3 reasons: 1. We thought we would be getting seamless experience and high quality communication. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
We kept getting handed off to different people for each part of the project, which made it hard to keep track of who we should be working with. 2. We were told that there would be someone one site during the duration of the project managing the project. That was true, but a bit misleading. The project manager who scheduled the project, is not the person on site.
It is the foreman, who is working the job. On top of that, they tore off part of the siding above my front door and used a very dark caulk to put it back, which looks ugly and mismatched. Then the project manager told me that it was "typical" and I would need to hire someone to paint over their poor job myself. 3. We also felt secure in the fact that we would be told if extra work was needed that would result in additional labor costs, we would have the chance to approve it before anything was done. Unfortunately, that was also not the case.
After the job was over and the workers left, the project manager called me and said there was an additional $1400 cost added. I told him that I was never notified nor did I approve it. He said they rang my doorbell a few times but no one answers. But no one called my cell phone and they said that I didn't need to be home during the job. The project manager then proceeded to blame the foreman for not telling him, but didn't provide any problem solving to me. An additional $1400 is not a small deal when you are already paying $20k.

We were very impressed with our overall experience with Valentine Roofing. Our project consisted of a complete reroofing of our 2500 sq ft home with replacement of existing skylights. The initial contact in June with their Estimator, Cody, was positive. He was very responsive, thorough and professional. I obtained estimates from 3 other firms and based on his description of their approach to the work to be done and the price selected Valentine as the best choice.
The work wasn't scheduled until the first week in July. They had some personnel issues which caused the project to be delayed a week which resulted in material stacked in my driveway for longer than planned. That and a minor communication issue before the project manager got involved are the only reason for a 4 vs 5 star review. The project manager, Zach, kept me involved of the status of the work and was accessible through-out the project.
The job was performed as expected. Sergio, the on-site foreman, answered any questions I had. They provided adequate protection to the surroundings and no damage occurred. The work area was cleaned before they left at the end of each day and after completion of the project. We are pleased with the results and certainly recommend Valentine Roofing!

My experience with Valentine Roofing was mostly great. My roof is beautiful with nice gutters. I had some minor concerns that were taken care of immediately. The final roofing project came out perfectly. John and Mark were very professional and a pleasure to work with. If I had any questions, they were there to answer them and make things right. I am very happy with my great looking roof and gutters. Thanks Valentine for taking good care of me with this project.

We had Valentine do our flat roof for our 1950's style home. I did my research. The roof that was torn off was Duralast by Dupont. This membrane was placed on top of the original gravel/tar material. It would have lasted for another 15 years except for a cut in the roof during a demo project that leaked and caused dry rot. All painstakingly had to be torn off, which resulted in two large and full dumpsters. Valentine installed a PVC membrane over rigid foam, which is best for a flat roof in the PNW. Elmer and his crew deserve credit for their work ethic. Andreas, project manager, also kind and professional. We ran into rain which complicated things, but in the end a big and well deserved - THANK YOU!

Ruben, the site manager was hard working, professional, and on target. The guys worked so hard and did an excellent job. I would highly recommend Valentine Roofing. 10 stars out of 5

Valentine promptly came out and gave a a really comprehensive and detailed quote and took the time to review so I would understand. Cory is amazing as an estimator and had great communication with us. After signing the contract things got a bit rocky as Covid-19 hit and impacted their scheduling and work, as well as impacting their staff. I wasn't happy that I had so many shifts in who I was talking to about my project.
I knocked off one star because of some issues with that as well as a change in company policy that required a change to my contract after signature*. With that - the roof itself was done well, they did damage some siding and part of my dry wall and they took care of repairing those. In the end I feel comfortable knowing I have a great roof on my house. * change was they no longer do the flashing around chimney due to issues they've had with the product, it was in my contract that they would do it. I had a Chimney specialist come out who said it was the right call and that they would have a mason tie the flashing into my chimney.

The last couple weeks my husband when and work for this company, and I'm so mad and angry right now because they have not paid him at all. I'm so angry don't know what to do anymore. I'm done with everyone. I'm done with everything like they used him. They made him spend time when he had a family when he could have been home. He did extra hours. He did not got paid what he was supposed to get paid that makes me mad and angry because they just use him and that's not okay And I'm making this viral for this company can know what they did wrong for.
Everyone can know what they did wrong because it's not okay for them to left their men work so hard and long hours be working from 6 in the morning till almost 10:00 at night. That is not. All right. I don't believe that is okay to get away with what they did to not pay them what they deserve to not pay them idle either that is not. All right, and I will not keep silent. I will speak up till my husband gets his paycheck.

Fantastic quality and service. If you're looking for a roofing company that won't rake you over the coals or put profits before integrity, Valentine Roofing should be your top choice. I'm a relatively new home owner and when I bought my house the inspector told me the roof was on its last legs. Five years later, when I looked up and saw water damage on our ceiling, I would remember that the inspector had said that, and panic to find a quality roofer as quickly as I could.
My husband and I received quotes from several other roofers and Valentine was by far the best quality with the lowest price tag. Not only that, but the salesman who came to our house was so personable, genuine, caring, and knowledgeable - it was immediately apparent that Valentine was a cut above the rest. It doesn't hurt that they gave us a great deal, even when we ran into unexpected costs, they genuinely cared about putting the best possible roof over my family's head rather than nickel and diming me over every last thing.
It was the most pleasant, headache-free experience I've had during such major home improvements. I'm endlessly impressed with their staff, who always make themselves available for any and all questions, and the installers who showed such care and attention to detail, you can tell they all take immense pride in the quality of their work, and of the cohesiveness of their teamwork.
These are good people, and even better roofs, so I feel great about putting my money into a roof that will likely outlast me, and into a company that takes such fantastic care of their customers. Don't miss out on this value and show support for a local, family owned business, especially in these trying times.

Your review: I just completed a re-roofing project. From start to finish, Valentine Roofing exceeded my expectations. Paul, the sales rep, was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer my many questions. He wanted to make sure I had 100% confidence in Valentine before starting. Eddie was my project manager and again, he exceeded all expectations.
He called me every day with updates, addressed all my concerns, and made sure that all details were followed up on. Eddie's crew, led by Emmanuel and his team of three, worked exceedingly hard. They were on time every day, they cleaned up at the end of each work day, and they were unfailingly considerate and polite. The project was completed on time and on budget. Valentine really takes pride in what they do. They are definitely the real deal. If you have a roofing project that you have been putting off, call Valentine and you will get good results!

You can't beat the service from these guys. Gave them a call and from day one they were reliable, prompt and knowledgeable. I had about 78 questions and they graciously answered all of them. I am in love with the final product and will definitely use again in the future whenever I need a service like this again. 10/10!

The job site supervisor kept us very informed about the whole process and we felt we were in good hands. When we come home from work, we saw that the crew had nicely clean up our yard. Our plants and landscape lighting were not disturbed. We are extremely happy with the work from Valentine Roofing! Our roof looks beautiful and we love looking at it every time we drive up to our house.

Valentine Roofing did a great job. A roof is a big investment. During the bidding process, they educated me about roofing so I could understand what were the keys to quality, and make good decisions about my roof. Their service was fast, efficient, and thorough. My house and landscaping were spotless. I was very pleased with their product and their service.
