Since our beginnings in 1973 as a small construction company, the Gaspar's family has taken great pride in making a difference in people's lives, one remodeling project at a time. Today at Gaspar's a new generation has come of age, with design, build, handyman and management professionals all working together under one roof.
Hiring a design/build team for your project is a little like getting married. Successful partnerships require a shared vision, the ability to give and take, a willingness to work hard and, above all, pleasure in the other's company. Your home's integrity is at stake, and you'll want to get to know your prospective partner before saying "I do."

I have relied on Gaspar's friendly service for over 10 years. They completely gutted and renovated our triplex units and each unit turned out beautifully. Their design team is excellent and their customer relations are exceptional. They are communicative and responsive. I especially appreciate Isaac's resourceful solutions to tricky situations. Thank you Gaspar's for going above and beyond!

Update: Gaspar's responded to my concerns, sending out Latif (handyman manager) to ensure the faucet installation was completed to my satisfaction. I appreciate the attention they gave to ensure good customer service. I booked a service call to replace three bathroom faucets and one towel bar that I supplied. Time estimate was one day or less. Handyman showed up without all the necessary tools, plumbers putty, and silicone; and evidently had limited experience with installing faucets. $1200 later, one faucet was installed without replacing the drain (no putty), one towel bar was installed, and two sinks were left with faucets removed but not replaced, so are unusable.
I had to pay for more than an hour for the handyman to drive to Lowe's to purchase a tool that he then kept. Handyman services booking out for several weeks so no idea when the job might be completed -- or how much more I would need to pay.

We used Gaspars Construction to renovate our basement. They were amazing to work with. They communicated everything so clearly to us and we never felt like we were an afterthought. We felt like they were treating us like family from the very beginning. Sarah and her team handled everything from the design to the final installation. We use our basement every day now and before we never went down there.

Rob came out to help us assembly a whole studio office of furniture. He did it quietly and fast! He was friendly and professional and not only cleaned up the boxes and mess afterward but he organized and sorted everything for recycling. I am so happy with the service. Thanks Rob! I love Gaspar's! A large project went horribly with another contractor and I credit Gaspar's with helping us get back on track. Ted spent a lot of time with me even though he couldn't help me directly. He was honest about timelines and he and Leo recommended more affordable or quicker options for my situation. Chelsea, Carly, and Leo are always so quick to respond and so professional even if I take a while to get back to them. Trent and another handyman came over for a project and did great work. It's so refreshing to know there is a hardworking, nice, transparent construction company out there!

We had a hole in a home office wall due to a broken pipe that had since been repaired. John and Trent from the Handyman team came and were were excellent workers. They were on time, courteous, neat, and did a great job of patching and painting our wall. We are super happy with them and with Gaspar's! Services:Drywall repair, Paint indoors

We chose Gaspar's Construction to support a small family owned woman lead business in Seattle. It's been a year now since we've moved home and our house is solid, wearing with no problems. It's a delight to see and enjoy the quality of work day after day. If you're looking to remodel your home, we'd strongly recommend you consider Gaspar's Construction if quality, experience and good people are important to you.

We learned about Gaspar's from friends who recommended them to us. We have been grateful to have them remodel our home. They have incredible communication, wonderful people and top-notch work. Our home has been completely updated and turned into our sanctuary. I cannot recommend them highly enough. We will definitely be contacting them for all of our future home projects.

Gaspar's has completed two projects for us. The first was conversion of a bathroom with an unused shower into a powder room with storage. The second was a major remodel of our ensuite bathroom, construction of storage for picture frames and large photographs, and replacement of the upstairs flooring and stairway carpet. The planning and design process is very thorough.
Construction quality was excellent and if there were any problems they were quickly remedied. Gaspar's is not the lowest cost contractor but they are totally reliable and fun to work with.

Gaspar's may do quality work, but watch out for large bills for questionable and erroneous design work. I paid Gaspar's nearly $1,000 for design work before terminating the contract. All I had hoped to do was retile my fireplace and add a small hearth to it. At our first meeting, I specified a dark gray matte finish tile. One of their designers suggested that instead of tile they could use a slab of quartz.
I said that would be fine as long as the finish was the same. They left. The next thing I received was an $870 bill for "design" and "feasibility." I was surprised, because I had not heard from them since our first meeting a week before. I reached out to them for an update. When they got back to me, they said all I needed to do was contact the designer to pick out a slab.
I called the designer, who informed me that quartz doesn't work for fireplaces (the same designer who originally suggested quartz), and that I should choose a slab of granite. But granite is more costly and (more importantly) nothing like the dark gray matte finish I had asked for at the first meeting. I told him I didn't want granite, and that I would do research over the weekend regarding tile.
When I sent him tile ideas, he said the tile I suggested wouldn't work, but he didn't offer any examples of gray matte tile that would work. I then received another bill for $122. Thus, I'd spent $992 for them to "design" my project, and yet they hadn't yet helped me to even identify a tile in the color I'd asked for at our first meeting. At this point, I was spooked by the lack of understanding and bad communication. Meanwhile, Gaspar's asked me for an additional $1,500 deposit to continue their work.
At that point, I saw nothing but red flags. I shared all of this with them, but no remedy was offered, other than that they agreed to stop work. I walked away from the money and from the project. They may do good work (I never got to find out), but I would not recommend Gaspar's unless cost is irrelevant to you.

The woman I "worked" with at Gaspar's--Barbara--seemed genuinely uninterested in my business and disrespectful of my time. She scheduled an initial phone call with me in order to get un understanding of my project. Before the call she wanted me to send her a detailed email, with pictures, describing the work I was needing done--because in her words "as I know, she is very busy" and this will save time during our phone call (For the record, Barbara, no, I don't know that you are very busy because I'm a potential customer and I don't keep track of your personal schedule).
I had several projects so this took a good amount of my time, but I totally understand the need for it. On the day of our phone call, Barbara called late, hadn't read the detailed email I had sent her, and couldn't find it (you know, that email that she was going to read before our phone call to save us some time). She blew through the call, completely missing two of the projects listed in my email.
The end result of our call? She may be able to get back to me with a quote later or may have to send someone out to my house to get a quote--and there is a charge for this because as Barbara repeatedly reminded me, they are a "premium company". Barbara said she would call me the next day with more information. She never called, never emailed, never got back to me with a quote.
I guess that's a good thing because it would have been a waste of time on Barbara's part (and as I know, she is very busy)--I went with another company that was more professional and responsive.

I used Gaspar's Handyman group to do a ceiling repair due to an upstairs leak. The quality of the work was fine, but the total cost approached 3x what they quoted me. Additionally, things got complicated with the scheduling after we agreed on a time. They actually then contacted me the day before trying to come that day - and these were repairs to a unit that I do not live in.
I thought this was unprofessional. And when I did manage to arrange for them to come early (which was really inconvenient), but they had to arrive by a certain time that was agreed on, they didn't show.

Gaspar's is an amazing operation! Renovations are so costly and potentially stressful, but their expertise, thorough estimate planning and excellent team of people really made our renovation a fun and exciting process! We adore our newly improved home and felt like we were truly taken care of every step of the way. Gaspar's is truly the best-you'll be so thankful you hired them!

We hired Gaspar's to complete a remodel of our 200 sq ft kitchen and we are beyond happy with the end result. Jen was our project manager and she really helped us focus on what problems we wanted to solve with our remodel, to be sure we had them all addressed, and so she knew exactly how to help us. She was honest with us to help us keep in touch with reality when it came to costs and timeline, which helped so much.
Our designer, Margaret, came up with gorgeous plans to match what we had in our minds and she helped pick some finishes, while we already had some others in mind. When the work started, Chris was our on-site lead and he kept us informed and won over the heart of our 5 year old. They used BuilderTrend to keep us informed on a daily basis of the work done, including photos, and we also met weekly to discuss the project and better understand any changes coming our way. No, it wasn't a totally perfect project but we didn't expect it to be. They adjusted when things came up and moved quickly to resolve issues. In the end, we have a gorgeous kitchen and we couldn't be happier.

I had a great experience with Gaspar's and will hire them again! I needed them to fix drywall that was removed for electrical work and do some related touch up painting. The fabulous repairman from Gaspar's did all these tasks and more. I asked about some other repairs I needed done (boarding up a cat door, installing light fixtures), and he had the time and skills to do these things. We discussed costs, which were reasonable, and all is done! Skilled, friendly, professional.

We could not be more thrilled with Gaspar's Construction. They were the epitome of professional, on time, and on budget. I hear nothing but horror stories from friends who are remodeling their kitchens. That is the exact opposite of our experience. The entire team took their time to get to know us and help us figure out our priorities. They listened and created a design that fit our life and our savings account.
Once the project began, we were given daily updates by our on-site lead and we had weekly meetings to discuss status, changes, and challenges. All of the members of the team were quick to respond to any and all of our questions (of which there were many) and concerns (of which there were few). Thank you to Isaac, Jen, Jonathan, Margaret, and everyone else at Gaspar's for giving us the kitchen of our dreams and their ongoing support and service.

We could not be more thrilled with our remodel and with the entire experience we have had with Gaspar's. From our very first meeting, Sarah, Isaac, Tess, Lance and Huck have all been so professional, honest, and truly a pleasure to work with. Their attention to detail was beyond my expectations, and their craftsmanship and pride in their work was enviable.
They were on time and on budget, listened to all of our concerns, quirks, change orders and wishes. I would recommend them highly to anyone who is looking for a contractor for any size project, big or small! You won't be disappointed.

Can't believe I have to update this review, but nearly a year later, I'm still finding evidence of their sloppy work--this time an old dried paint bucket and cheap tools left in a window well behind foliage. God forbid they'd spend even a second longer to tidy up unless they had several meetings for Change Orders and Additional Costs Incurred.

As a homeowner of less than 10 years of a new construction, we have not had the need (yet) to take on any major renovation projects. That said however we have had a variety of handyman services out to the home to keep it looking new. Some were good, while others where less than desirable. Most recently we decided to give Gaspar’s a try following a friend’s recommendation, and we are certainly glad we did!
The handyman turned out to be a handywoman (can’t recall her name unfortunately) and she did a superior job on a variety of tasks we required over the course of the 4 hours we paid for. She repaired an attic vent, a ding in some sheetrock, to include matching the paint and painting, and also replaced and painted some trim. The best part about the experience was everything looked new and matched after completed.
Unlike some of the other reviews, I will not complain about what we paid because more importantly I realize the VALUE in a job well done the first time, which is exactly what occurred. You know the old saying, you get what you pay for! Thank you Gaspar’s for a job well done! I will not hesitate to use their ‘handyperson’ services in the future, and when we are ready for that big renovation, Gaspar’s will be the first call we will make!

This review is based on requesting a quote from Gaspar's for a basement remodel. Jen took the time to meet with us and promptly provided us with information regarding options and timelines. Overall, we were impressed with the care of Gaspar's cline outreach, we provided some feedback about what we valued and that was promptly taken into account in our subsequent interactions.
Though we interacted well with the account manager, we had no idea who the onsite project manager was going to be so we felt less supported there. Unfortunately, the ballpark budget and large-ish company feel did not work for us so we did not proceed with Gaspar's.

GASPARS systematically overcharges and is unethical. They receive a minus 2 stars. They arrived 33 min late, yet started charging at 9:00am the scheduled start time. They required a $200 deposit on Visa before appt is even scheduled. 3 simple jobs (fixing a fence hinge, putting up shower curtain rod, recaulking a tub) required 5 hours of their time.
They also said they charge for writing up the bill. total was over $550. I appealed this on Visa, but because I unfortunately signed the front of their bill, not realizing the back of the bill has fine print I could not successful appeal on Visa. When you sign, you agree with all their hidden and deceptive practices. Two friends used them, and they will not ever use them again.

Update: Sarah Henry personally called to address the situation. I'm happy with the way she handled it and the resolution offered. Will use Gaspar's again. --- Gaspar's bills for transit time to purchase replacement parts that they don't have on hand. I was okay with this until I discovered that the tech who handled my job billed for two hours she spent driving around town searching for a part that wasn't even stocked at the stores she checked.
If replacement parts are necessary to complete a job, one would hope the tech knows exactly what they are and where they can be quickly and reliably obtained. If there's any doubt, parts should be secured ahead of time with a phone call. Since they're unable to this, it's the customer who pays for such iffy excursions.

If you want your remodeling job done with care and attention to detail, call Gaspar's. The detailed planning process might make some clients impatient, but because everything had been considered in advance, our project proceeded according to plan without (expensive) surprises and turned out beautifully -- on time and under budget.

I am a big fan of Gaspar. My experience has been entirely with the handyman services department. Ted who was the office guy for the handyman dept was awesome and he transitioned to Erica when he was promoted. While the hourly rate of $85.00 per hour is a little on the high side for handymen my experience has been it is more than fair for light carpentry, patching, light painting, working on leaks, diagnosis of leaks, etc.
I cant say enough bout Reed Hanberg. If you can get him for the handyman work all will go smoothly. My wife and I love Reed. He is great with our dogs, he is tidy with his work, he is very kind, and responsive. We just love having him work at our house. We know whatever he does will be quality work with a lot of love put into it. We have spent a lot of money with Gaspars over the years and they have done a lot of work repairing leaks in our home which is very near to the sound.
They found our leaks and fixed them. I would give them 5 stars but no one is 5 stars unless its free! As I said, fair price for quality work that they STAND BEHIND. The owner stands behind their work even if there are a fair amount of complaints on Yelp. Give them a try. David D

I had such a positive experience with Gaspar's! Our charming 1920s condo was in need of serious plaster repair. Within two weeks, Ted and his staff arranged to have a site visit where a quote was given on site. They not only completed a massive plaster repair project, but they also painted (with extreme attention to detail). They were quick, detailed, and ON BUDGET.
Home renovations are tough. They are expensive, stressful, and exhausting. Thankfully, you can trust this company to do good work. We will definitely use them again in the future.

Wow, I'm surprised to see other reviews on here. I actually created a Yelp account specifically to sing their praises. My entire experience from start to finish was exceptional. We were in the process of buying our first home and were at our wit's end with our lender and our seller. Our lender gave us two days notice to get a railing installed per the appraiser's inspection.
We called 15+ contractors and no one had time for us or would take such a small job. I called Gaspar's on a Wednesday night at 4:45pm. Sarah had a contractor confirmed to go out Thursday morning at 8:30am to install our railing! While Gaspar's main team was on another project, Sarah made time for someone to complete the work (to code) and to put us in the best position to close on our house in time. Heather did the work for us and was extremely communicative.
She called me when she arrived, went over the job to make sure we were both on the same page and then called me when it was completed to go over it again and sent me photos. Working with Gaspar's was the most positive experience I had throughout the home buying process. Sarah made everything so easy and sympathized with our situation. She took all of the stress off of our shoulders and then Heather hit a homerun with her quick but solid work.
The railing was beautifully constructed and perfectly to code. We passed the final inspection with flying colors and it was completely affordable on top of that. I'll be using Gaspar's from here on out thanks to their professionalism, quality of work and amazing customer service. We would not have closed on our new home without them.

I had Gaspar's out to demo old mailboxes and install new ones for our townhouse complex. It was difficult to find someone to do this work as it involved a small concrete pad, but Gaspar's was more than willing. Every experience, from scheduling with Ted to the to the actual installation with Ken was friendly, positive and productive. Gaspar's complete focus was on the quality of their work and the customer experience. Ken did things the right way, and watching him I knew why I had hired someone to do the job.
This was a time and materials job, but Ken worked efficiently, the project looks amazing, and came in under the rough estimate they provided. I would definitely use them again!
