We had a pipe bust yesterday during the crazy winter storm, and we called 5-6 plumbers to try to get on a repair list. We expected to have to wait several days with our water turned off. Austen called us back within an hour, asked for details and photos, then told us how to cap the pipe ourselves until he can come fix it! He spent about 20 minutes on the phone with me, asking for nothing, and declined when I said we'd send money for the consult.

We were able to cap the pipe with his instructions and turn our water back on within a few hours of the pipe busting. He's going to be our first call for plumbing needs in the future, because he deserves our business after helping us so generously in an emergency. Thank you, Austen!

I couldn't begin to explain how amazing of a job Austen did, but I will try! We recently had Austen out to fix plumbing issues with our bathtub and install a new tub. I knew going into this project that we had a mess on our hands and I was very stressed out and overwhelmed about the situation. To make matters worse the first couple plumbers to make it out to our home to do estimates made me feel like this was going to be a huge project and more of an issue then what was expected.

So by the time Austen came out I was even more stressed! Not only was he reassuring that it wasn't that big of a deal he was very transparent about what kind of price point to expect, which ended up being totally reasonable. Austen Plumbing came in to my work site (new construction) after the original plumber bailed on me. He assessed the situation and listened to what I wanted and was trying to do. He provided timely estimates for the work I wanted. He performed the work in the estimates as written and made suggestions for improvement when he saw a need for it. He accommodated all of my changes as they came about, again making suggestions for improvement.

We are just about at the finish line for this project and his work site has been neat, and he has been professional and on time. During this time I also had two water leaks at my residence. Austen Plumbing came to the house promptly, once from another job site, and repaired both leaks. He coordinated with the insurance adjustors and repairmen. On the first leak, he saved me and the insurance company possibly thousands of dollars when two other plumbers wanted to cut into the slab to repair the leak. Austen Plumbing used some state of the art equipment to determine the leak was not in the slab but about 1 foot above the slab in a line going up an outside wall. If you want a reliable, effective, and efficient plumber, use Austen Plumbing.

Last fall, Austen responded to an emergency call immediately so of course I used him again when I needed a good plumber. He even had to go to the store to get a small part I needed and came by over the weekend to install it for me. I would never have known the difference. That kind of work ethic means a lot and is much appreciated. Hire him.

This gentleman is what good, honest, friendly service is all about. I highly recommend Austen plumbing.even if you notice a leak at night. He showed up 20 minutes after I called him, we were able to exchange information via text photos and over the phone and he was able to take care of the problem without my having to be there. We took care of the billing by credit card over the phone and I have to say. this was quite a pleasant, painless experience!

When you don't have water in your house and the last thing you want to do is wait for a couple of days until you are able to take off from work to be there while it is being fixed. I am thankful for his willingness to get it all fixed up while I was out and highly recommend Austen Plumbing!

When your bath tub starts hosing water across the house at 7:30pm. We could only find one person to come and fix it! Not only did he fix it, he planned out a bunch of future proofing solutions to prevent it happening again, all of which are suited to our unique property which runs off of a Well on Land. Austen was fast, quick, and reasonably priced considering it was outside of hours. Highly recommend.

Austen came out to our house for an estimate after being recommended by a family member. He was extremely nice and spent some time looking at our admittedly terrible old water heater setup that is going to take some additional time to bring up to code. He said he would get back to me with an estimate. That was over a month ago, and he has since ignored 6-7 emails (even ones with RESPONSE NEEDED included in the subject line) and multiple voicemails.

I think he maybe realized it was going to be too much work and decided he didn't want to deal with us. I just wish he could have let us know he wasn't going to be available in the first place as we have delayed the process for several weeks waiting for a response and now are right back where we started. Looking at some of the other reviews on here it seems like this might be a common occurrence. How hard is it to respond to an email?

Austen Plumbing was the most professional and reasonably priced plumber I have ever used. Austen arrived early and worked all day to ensure that I had hot water before leaving. Two days later the same plumber returned to install pipe insulation that was not part of the contract. I highly recommend Austen Plumbing and tankless water heaters.

Came home after Thanksgiving to hear water running in my floor. I could not see water and called around and found Austen. He came out that day and put my mind at rest. He quickly assessed the situation and laid out a plan to discover where the leak was. He used electronic equipment to find the leak and quickly had my repair under way. I had nightmares of floors being destroyed and my house a wreck during Christmas and Austen was able to reroute the water line with very little damage to my home.

He recognized my concern and communicated with me during the whole process. I can;t believe how he turned this process into a non-issue so quickly. Thank you Austen for making our season brighter!

I'm sad to say I have to give 1 star here. I had Austen come out to took at what I was told was a slab leak. He was really friendly, showed up the first time and was really professional. After the problem was figured out he said he would call my insurance company. Three weeks later and after two weeks of me and my agent calling, not one call was returned. They dropped off the face of the earth. I will now find another company to help me. I hope they can improve as they seemed really professional at first.

This company is excellent and do indeed 'exceed expectations one customer at a time, they certainly exceeded ours. Austen was punctual, courteous and completed the work at a very reasonable cost. We highly recommend this company and will not hesitate to call them again if needed.

Set up an appointment for a tub install quote on Wednesday for Friday am with Austin (or Austen?) and no one ever showed. Called the Bastrop number and left a message specifically stating I'd be around for the rest of the day and they could still come out - I know sometimes emergencies happen! I never heard from anyone until I called a twice at 5pm.

No answer, but I did receive a text from a different number that said "Can't talk right now. I'm on my way." Guess what- No one ever showed. I tried to call yet again this morning, as Yelp says they are open today. Left a voicemail again attempting to set up another appointment. No answer, no call back. Worst customer service.

We received a water bill indicating we had used an additional 26,000 gallons of water in one month, which was our only clue that we had a massive water leak. I immediately called half a dozen plumbers and when I mentioned we had a slab, most of them either said I would need to call someone else or didn't call me back. Austen, however, answered my call and came the very same day.

He was extremely professional and even though it took several days to isolate the leak, because of his diligence and fancy equipment, he did locate it. He then was able to find a work around (the leak was in the slab in the living room area) so we didn't even have to dig up our wood floors. His rates were reasonable, he helped us work with our insurance company, and he was an excellent communicator. I would highly recommend him if you have any kind of leak. He loves the challenge and absolutely refuses to give up until he has solved the problem.

Working with Austen Plumbing Company was an exceptional experience. My older parents had a water leak in their house and needed help immediately. Austen, to company owner, understood the emergency and addressed all project steps in very professional and timely matter, including dealings with insurance. Called on a Wednesday. The owner answered right away. Said he'd be out Friday to assess a possible leak in my slab. I felt reassured that I called the right guy. Especially since he was referred by a friend. No show, no call on Friday. Would not answer my calls or return my messages all weekend or the following Monday. That was about a month ago.

Still nothing. It says a lot about a business owner that would treat a referred customer that way. Of course I would never use this company at this point and I had the problem fixed by someone who actually showed up.

The best plumbing company in Bastrop. They really know what they are doing.

My husband and I recently reached out to Austen Plumbing to come out and do a leak detection. We found out from the city that we had a leak of 3/10ths of a gallon per minute. Now I am not a math wiz but that is a whole lotta water! The problem was that we had no idea where the water was going. There was no evidence of water anywhere on our property. Austen came out with his fancy sonar equipment and swept the entire foundation area until he found a leak underneath the bath tub.

Not only was there a leak there, but there were several puddles (deep puddles) of water underneath the foundation. He was able to pump the water out of some of them. He was at our house for about 12 hours until the leak was fixed. As first time owners, we were concerned of something like this happening again. We mentioned this concern to him and he mentioned that he guarantees his work for 2 years.

Aside from Austen's hard work, skill, and competitive pricing, I really liked the convenience of being able to do the invoice and transaction online. I like that his business keeps up with technology and make it easier for customers to communicate with him. The only downside I saw was that we now have two small cut outs on our wall, about 12" x 12" where he cut the sheet rock to get to the pipes and foundation. It's not a big deal but now we have to find someone to fix the wall. Overall, Austen was a pleasure to work with and I recommend him as a plumber if you need one!

Austen answered his phone right away. Quoted price over phone for leak detection. He was at the job site on time persevered through the job to the bitter end in the cold. He fixed the leak, educated me around residential plumbing, and even followed up 2 days later when my tenant complained her toilet wasn't functioning. Austen was professional during the entire time he was on site and afterwards. Austen texted photos throughout the day while he was at the job site and kept in close contact throughout the time he was at the job site.

Excellent service! Since 2001 I am dealing with other plumbers but today I get the right one. These guys are honest, in time and I liked their friendly service. Their service finished with reasonable price and no extra charge offered. I am not worry now and will be never more hesitate, just go to them when need arise.
