Carpenter ants are one of the most common pest species in the Pacific Northwest. These ants are normally a large black ant but can be as small as 1/4 inch. Carpenter ants do not eat wood but instead chew their way through wood causing damage to wood structures. Most problems with these ants occur during the spring and summer months but can sometimes be seen in the fall and winter as well.

Many people are alerted to the presence of these ants in the spring when they see the large flying ants inside their homes. This is a sign of a problem that should not be ignored. These flying ants are evidence of a well-established carpenter ant colony within the structure.

We had a problem with spiders and Dave came out and did a very thorough job treating (with non-toxic yet still very effective products) our entire house and garage. He also strategically placed streamline little traps in every room that have continued to work very well. The education my husband and I received from Dave in the process was interesting and valuable.

He is very knowledgeable about bugs and other pests native to this area and he doesn't mind consulting on them as part of his very affordable visit. Very friendly person, very competent too. I will recommend him to anyone I know that needs an exterminator.

Our call was returned immediately after our frantic SOS. Dave showed up and quickly found the pesky rodent hiding in our garage, baited the traps and reviewed what we needed to look for to avoid future friends. I don't think he had made it out of our neighborhood before that rat was caught.
