I actually found this company when my mom had work done in he house and she was very happy with their service, professionalism and excellent attitude of the guys that came out and did the work and she is rarely happy with technicians but she likes John Waters Inc. So when I needed some electrical work done I called them and they're the best electrical company that I have dealt with, so far.
I got quotes form only him because all the others could not get to me for at least a week. John Waters Inc was there the next business day and the owner came to make sure that everything was done correctly. I was shocked when I got the bill because it was way less than I expected. The Techs were professional and work with a sense of eurgency as my job is online and the problem was in my office. Thank you John Waters Inc. Bob R.

I've been a customer of John Waters for many many years. My experience has been great from the first service call. From the initial call to their office, to every department within, this company has been top notch. I have a service agreement with them, which I think serves me well. I would highly recommend them to everyone. Service:A/C system maintenance

Very satisfied with service and professionalism. Very responsive as well. Example - last year during the height of the pandemic, our AC went out. They came out right away and offered a reasonably-priced repair. Since the system was old we decided to go new. Unfortunately some of the parts were delayed due to supply chain issues. The installers however figured out a brilliant temporary fix so we still had cold air until all the parts came in. They did this at no extra cost! We highly recommend them!

We always get the best service from John Waters, in electric work and HVAC care. They are timely and thorough professionals who explain things clearly and are easy and personable to work with. We have used several other groups over the years, but JW give us the best return for money spent. Service:HVAC maintenance

I was extremely pleased with John Waters. Joe, the technician, was thorough, diligent, and able to explain the problem with my unit. He fixed it the least expensive way he could, while also warning me to keep an eye on it and what it might need in the future. Also I was very appreciative of the fact that he was able to come the day I called, with very hot weather in the near forecast. I will never use any other HVAC company than John Waters.

I had a repair back in September and it cost me 2 visits and it was fixed on my HVAC to get my AC working again. Come winter and I need to use my furnace it is just pushing out cool air and not hot air. The same maintenance staff that came in September showed up again. I was glad because he worked on my system before. He told me my furnace was a "water furnace" and caused me to stress out because I had never heard it and they don't service "water furnaces." After consulting with my realtor and looking into my inspection, my furnace is GAS and not a "water furnace" aka GEOTHERMAL. Needless to say it appears he did not want to be on my property working to make sure everything was working properly. I won't call back for any more service requests from this company.

I have used John Waters for almost 10 years. From the first experience until my most recent, June 22, John Waters employees have been respectful, courteous, reliable and helpful. I would recommend this company to anyone and I would compliment everyone I have ever spoken with on the phone or worked with at my home. It is wonderful to have such a reliable, respectful and reasonable company. They respect my well being too with the use of masks and booties over their shoes. I wouldn't want to depend on anyone else.

I have a PTAC wall unit that was making a lot of noise. A technician came to my home and he was very inexperienced. Could not find the reason for the noise so he stuck cardboard sheets between the wall and the unit to try to reduce noise. Did not service the unit or clean it. Could not offer advice for replacement. This totaled 160$ for 30 min of services rendered.
I ended up taking the unit out the next day by myself, to find that 2 important screws were missing from the fan casing which was rattling and causing the noise. After discussing with the company the possibility of a discount I was promised a callback but did not hear back. Addendum: As a response to this post the company did call back and offered a 50% discount for the services offered.

I had my service panel replaced, an exterior outlet added, and a tankless water heater connected through this company. Although the work was performed satisfactory, I'm taking stars off for the following reasons: 1. Cleanliness - Every where they worked they left remnants. It's like they didn't care to clean up after their work. They even left tools in multiple locations on different days, requiring them to return to collect them.
It was obvious they did not inspect their own work spaces. 2. Lack of communication/involvement with customer - I just moved into the house and there were random 2x4's on the wall from previous owners. It would have been nice for the installers to come and say, "If you remove this block, we can mount things flush or make this work for you a little better." Also, no final walk through was performed.
I was teleworking and crew said they were done and just up and left. I did have an HVAC quote done by them and the gentleman was very thorough and professional, it just did not fit the bill.

Glad I had John Abell from John Waters come out and look at my A/C. He came to provide a second opinion from a prior diagnosis. I was told by someone else that I needed an entirely new A/C system because the compressor was faulty and it would be too costly to replace. It was only six years old. Found out from John that this was entirely incorrect and that I only needed coolant.
It pays to get a second opinion and I am thankful I found someone with integrity. They seem to be fairly reasonable on pricing although I didn't shop around too terribly much. $405 for a diagnostic, testing, 4lbs of coolant, and the coil cleaning. You can't put a price on honesty, except in my case where it may have saved me greater than $2,000. Thanks so much. I hope this review helps anyone looking as there are not many reviews on here for A/C companies. Jeremy

I was ready to sell my 108 year old house in the Highlands. After replacing the windows, blowing insulation into the walls and getting a new AC and Furnace when I moved in eight years ago, I thought there was nothing more I could do to get my house warm in the winter, cool in the summer and get my LG&E bills below $400 a month! I have a business I run out of my house and it was embarrassing when my clients would come over that my living room and kitchen were always freezing and I ended up hiding in my small office all winter long.
Then I called John Waters and they sent out Mike Becht (the Comfort Consultant) came out and he was great. He has an instant air of competence and down-to-earthness that made me trust him immediately. Then he told me what no one else had: Apparently 100 years ago, builders built the heating systems backwards (something about returns on the outside and registers on the inside walls).
Eventually builders figured it out, but my house was going to need some new ducts. Of course he measured EVERYTHING - the windows, the doors, the ceilings - and he got down in the cellar and up in the attic to measure insulation. He asked me all kinds of questions and then ran some kind of heat loss thing and told me that my first floor furnace was a little undersized (but he recommended NOT changing it) and the 30 year old furnace in my attic needed replacing.
I ASKED him to change over one of my 8 year old inefficient AC units to a Heat Pump because I am all about being green and I knew I could save money. He also recommended a humidifier (for ~500) and that has made ALL the difference. The whole duct thing scared me, but that wasn't expensive at all and it changed everything. We added three new registers and partially closed the giant one in my interior bathroom and it was like MAGIC!
Before I would set the thermostat to 71 or 72 and the furnace would blow dry air constantly to get it tolerably warm in the living room, but it would be HOT in my office. Now, I set the thermostat to 67 and it's comfortable everywhere. The humidifier makes it feel like its 69 or 70 and the new ducts work like a dream! Oh and did I mention my new LG&E bills are a fraction of what they used to be! Mike was indeed a Comfort Consultant and I love my house now. Kevin (the installer) was incredibly professional (laying down tarps and wearing booties), too.
I had one little problem because I wanted to keep my existing thermostat, but they fixed it right away at no cost. I love my house 12 months a year now and I am their biggest fan!
