The entire process ended up being. exhausting. After the initial rosy sales pitch and signing of the contract, things quickly changed and we had to deal with poor communication, constant delays with a lack of transparency, and added costs. The finished house is rife with poor craftsmanship and a lack of attention to detail. Quality control has been woefully lacking.

With each passing day in our brand new custom build home, we find more and more examples of poor workmanship. Don't take my word for it; here are a few examples: 1. Front door of the house won't fully lock when the door is closed unless the top half of the door is pushed in. The door was not installed correctly and when it was pointed out, they tried some crude fixes without any improvement. 2. Penny tile installation in the bathroom and laundry room was covered in paint and grout haze.

After several requests to clean up, it still looks dirty. 3. Paint splatter is EVERYWHERE on the floors in the house, all over the floors. We had to spend (and still continue to spend) hours scraping off the paint manually. There always seems to be more. 4. Quartz countertops were not installed properly with cracked pieces and poorly blended joint lines.

The large kitchen island has a noticeably bad seam running through the middle with cracked joint compound. 5. The gap between the baseboard and floors was poorly caulked throughout the house and is already peeling and separating. 6. Several windows have leaked in the house, requiring us to file a warranty claim with the window company and new leaks keep popping up 7.

Paint edges throughout the house are sloppily done and spill onto the countertops, tile, etc. 8. Several windows had scratches in the glass when we moved in 9. Several doors in the house would not close/lock properly. I had to manually adjust the strike plate on 3 separate doors 10. Door stoppers were incorrectly installed and were cutting into the drywall, I had to install a separate stopper 11.

There was a window that was apparently missing since January and delaying construction progress. After 7 months of waiting for this missing window, we had to constantly push them to finally find a solution with an alternative window. 12. The drywall edges were so obviously poorly done, particularly around the fireplace. We had to ask them to install additional trim to hide it, which didn't help all that much.

Even the newly installed trim is poorly installed. 13. Drywall screw pops throughout the sheetrock. Very hard to fix after the fact. There are many more examples of shoddy construction. The lack of attention to detail from this "high-end" custom home builder has been extremely disappointing. Based on the previous positive reviews for this builder and the stark contrast of my own experience, I wonder if they have grown too big too fast and quality has severely been compromised as a result. I would encourage potential clients to carefully consider your choice of builder for a large investment such as a new custom home. Buyer beware.

We had the opportunity to work with Aspire Fine Homes and David Gordon to build our dream house last year. Aspire has an in house team that covered all phases of the project from architecture to landscaping, which gave us a one stop shop where the Aspire team had accountability for every aspect of the project. David was very flexible in the design elements of our project and very clear on budget, and selection impacts on budget, from the very first meeting we had with him when we acquired the land.

We had a few minor bumps along the way, but every time we called to voice concerns either on the business side of the house or the construction side, the problem was very quickly resolved and usually exactly how we suggested it should be. Our house was completed 6 weeks ahead of schedule (which is unheard of in my understanding) and on budget save for a few change orders along the way as a result of our selections.

Both David (the head of the Company) and Michael Reed (the project manager for our house) answered our calls every time we rang, which was very frequent, or called us back that day. We have been in the house about 9 months and have absolutely loved it. The inspector and several vendors have independently commented to us on the structural integrity of the house.

We have had zero major issues with the house and only a few minor ones that were discovered once we moved in and were immediately addressed. One of those minor issues presented during a flood last year and the Aspire team volunteered to come out and fix it that day while it was still storming. Even still 9 months later when we have little issues that are covered during the warranty period they usually come out to fix it within 24 hours. We have been very pleased to have worked with the Aspire team and we love our new house.

We started working with the team of Aspire Fine Homes in late December of 2018. From day 1, David and the team were easy and fun to work with. The guidelines given during the early process, helped us understand the timeline of building such a beautiful home. Everyone of the vendors that helped us with selections were ultimate professionals and very, very helpful.

Once the building process started, we were assigned a project manager that would guide us through decisions that had to be made as the project moved along. The project manager was a true gem going far and beyond to make us happy and informed as the project got nearer to completion. I have to admit, I was expecting a stressful process and year, but it was far from that.

The team at Aspire is the reason for this. I absolutely appreciate them in every way. The home that we are in now is truly our dream home. I would not change a thing being in it for 3 months now. Thank you Aspire Fine Homes!

My wife and I had been looking for several years to move into town to be closer to our family in Oak Forest, so we stopped at an open house in Garden Oaks. Once we stepped in, we knew we had found our builder! From the crown molding to the appliances to all of the finishes, the attention to detail was the best we had ever seen. Two months later, we found a lot, and with David's direction on what to do regarding tearing down the house on the lot to engaging an architect, he was with us all the way. Once we were in our house, David's team was very responsive and helpful to follow up on warranties and to make sure we were satisfied with the final product. David's team was so professional in how they treated us during the build and after the build. If we ever build again, there will be no one on the list, but David and his Aspire Fine Homes team!

David Gordon and his team have been exceptional builders from start to finish. We have truly enjoyed working with all his staff and they have built our family a wonderful home we will enjoy for many years. We cannot recommend Aspire Fine Homes highly enough.

I have worked as an interior designer with Whitestone Builders for the past five years. During this time Whitestone consistently meets or exceeds the customer's expectations. The builder, client and designer meet before ground is broken, which establishes collaboration from the outset, and forges a working relationship throughout construction.

My house is completely different from homes Whitestone had done before, but they took on the challenge and passed with flying colors. Dave did everything he said he would do - he helped me source materials and when I wanted the best, but needed to work within my budget, he would help me. There will always be snags with any builder but the difference is how the builder reacts.

Time and time again, Whitestone provided us with exceptional customer service. Dave was very personable and always reassuring so I felt very comfortable after each encounter. What impressed me even more was that if he didn't know the answer to something, he was honest about it and said so, but then he would go find out.

I came back and spoke to the workers so I could answer all my husband's questions and after 4 open house weekends, I invited him to see the house and he was sold. Whitestone's decorator did a wonderful job - everyone says how beautiful it is.
