Lone Star

Used these guys for the removal of our old pool and design and construction of our a new one. We were promised in writing to have the new pool for the 2022 swimming season. When it became clear we were not going to have the pool in time we canceled our agreement and asked for a refund of our $1000 deposit. We were denied a refund claiming it was in the contract that it was non-refundable. However they never even sent us a contract in the 9 months we have been waiting for one. Buyer beware!

Lone Star Landscaping is the best ever! I found this company on the internet & never having any backyard makeovers done before, I didn't know exactly what to expect from a company that I had no one having previous experience with. Lone Star is a top notch company & very helpful & wonderful company to do business with. I couldn't be happier with the results of the work they did. Tony was on top of things at all times & kept me informed at all times. It was truly a great experience to work with Lone Star. I will recommend them to every one that I know who is needing landscaping work done.

We cannot be more happy with the final results of the remodel of our backyard completed by Lone Star Landscaping. The detail in installation of stone, firepit, planter, turf and travertine tile was excellent. Corners and edges are clean and straight, surfaces are level, and hardscape around pool really came out better than expected. The crew was always friendly and respectful of our home and space. Our 13 year old yard now looks up to date and enjoyable again. Thank you Tony and crew for renewing our yard and creating a new space again.

My neighbor had some landscaping work done - I am sure it turned out great. Unfortunately, they used a portion of my yard to run their wheelbarrows through when carrying stone and landscape rock which lead to a rut in the landscaping rock. They also usually parked their truck in front of my house so the sand used wound up in the front of my house. As mentioned in other reviews, this company doesn't clean up after itself. If you use them, make sure they don't leave a mess.

I found Lone Star through their website after seeing a picture of an outdoor fire pit that I liked. Chris emulated the project perfectly by getting Phoenix permits handled, tapping into a pre-existing gas line, extending the gas 70 feet and building a beautiful flagstone fire pit with boulders complete with new electrical outlets. The project turned out exactly as expected and we're pleased with a whole new area of our yard. Additionally, as the projected wrapped up there was a loosely-related electrical issue and he responded quickly to the problem after he had been paid, which is uncommon and highly appreciated.

Lone Star Landscaping completely transformed the look and curb appeal of my home with a beautiful landscape and lighting design. My front of house appeal went from being one of the ugliest in the neighborhood to one of the most appealing (I continue to receive compliments on the landscaping)! Since there was little to start with but a few scattered plants, Lone Star came in with a complete landscape design which included irrigation, pavers, lighting, a full perimeter wall, and plants.

It was a major project - I was looking for an exceptional end product and I wasn't disappointed. Lone Star's attention to detail, quality craftsmanship and use of high quality materials, was exactly what I was looking for in a contractor. Both Chris and Jamie (owners) were great to work with and guided me through the entire process from HOA approvals, selecting the correct plants and pavers, to the construction itself.

They were and continue to be very responsive to any questions or concerns I have and even helped me understand how to operate my new high-tech lighting and irrigation systems. Lone Star did a fantastic job and I couldn't be happier with the look of my entire front yard/entryway, especially the way my house looks at night with the perfect accent lighting on the saguaros!

Lone star was great, we have had them landscape our front yard, work was professional and highest quality. They finished the work quickly and it really looks nice. After our experience with the front yard we had them tackle our backyard. They travertined the entire pool deck, extended the patio and the backyard is incredible all for a great price. I can't recommend Lone star enough they are great and finish out the work on time and are very professional.

The team over at Lone Star were great. They professionally quoted our project and started work almost immediately. We fell in love with their initial design concept and were just blown away at the results. Our backyard is now our favorite part of the property. Hiring Lone Star was such a great decision. They turned our basic desert landscape into an incredibly living space. It transformed our backyard into a functional space that we can now entertain guests with. They were professional and had a great portfolio of work to get inspiration from. We recently completed a patio makeover which included a lot of demolition, engineering and design and building an outdoor fireplace, plants, fire bowl, planter bowls, sprinkler system, lighting and travertine patio & stacked stone. We started with another landscaper and had to terminate them due to fraud. Chris at Lone Star stepped in and helped us start over. Wow!

What an amazing job they all did (Chris, office staff & laborers)! They were all so professional and hard-working and made sure every detail we wanted done was taken care of in a timely manner. We also added some additional work in the front yard once they got started. Our back yard is so beautiful and now a true outdoor living space. We still can't believe it's our yard when we look out the windows.

It only enhanced our view of the golf course and mountains. We would recommend them to anyone needing work. They have great resources and are so knowledgeable in their work. We are definitely calling on Lone Star for our next project (hopefully Phase 2 of the rest of the yard). It is so comforting to know they do have your best interests in mind. Chris never recommended something that was questionable. Jamie in the office was always more than willing to help with any detail, always seeing it through to the end. Last spring (2017) I contacted Lone Star, and Chris came to look at the patio and yard area of my newly purchased home, and discuss what I wanted done. After that, I left town for 7 months. While I was back east, Chris and Jamie designed a plan, got all the approvals needed from my HOA, and oversaw the demolition and construction of a beautiful new patio space (previously a weed infested patch of dead plants and sand.) They stayed in close touch with me, sent photos of the work in progress, and made sure the project was finished before I returned for the winter.

I especially appreciated their familiarity with the approval process of my HOA. I found Lone Star to be an excellent company to deal with, and would highly recommend it to others.

Lone Star just wrapped up my front yard landscaping project a few days ago. My wife and I are very pleased with it! I met with Chris and could tell right away that he had a lot of knowledge. He was good at listening to my nebulous ideas and then helping to ground them to produce realistic solutions. I wanted to modernize and 'green up' my yard. Realistically a redwood forest type of yard just isn't feasible in Phoenix, so Chris helped select a layout and plants that will be able to handle Arizona summers but also aren't just your standard cactus and palo verde trees.

The project was completed in only a few days. The crew seemed to be hardworking and effective. They were polite and cleaned up after themselves when they left. Jamie kept me updated as things progressed (since I was at work most of the time). During the final walk-through Chris took the time to answer all of my questions and explain things thoroughly.

He noticed a cap had been left off one of the wires and said he'd be back first thing the next morning to fix it. This is something I probably wouldn't have spotted on my own so I appreciated it. After he left I realized that the irrigation controller for the front yard was just a few feet from my backyard lawn sprinkler valves (which had been controlled from the garage on the other side of the house).

I shot Jamie/Chris a message asking if there is anyway I could just connect the lawn valves to the new irrigation controller. Chris said that of course they could do this. Even though this wasn't part of the original plan and was some extra work for them they took care of it. I was already very happy with these guys and this just set it over the top.

I 100% recommend Lone Star for your landscaping needs! They are easy to talk to, professional, and very knowledgeable about how to create a fabulous looking yard. Looking forward to seeing how it will look in a year once the plants have had a chance to grow a bit!

Lone Star has recently completed our front and backyard renovation and it has turned out better than I could imagine! Chris was great to work with, he helped us with the design and kept within our budget. We had our old grass lawn removed and replaced with pavers, a new pool deck, new landscape rock, and landscape lighting. I hired the guys from Lanestar to do clean up in my yard. They did a great job and went above and beyond. They cleaned everything up and trimmed several trees and bushes. Yard looked great. It was very reasonable price for amount of work they did.

This review is long overdue. I had Chris and his team at Lonestar Landscaping give my front and back yard a major makeover a few months ago. I hadn't had the best luck with landscapers in the past because I always ended up feeling that they were in a hurry to get my job finished, collect a check and generally weren't too concerned with my satisfaction.

It was the complete opposite with this company. Chris took the time to listen to my overall goals and never seemed to be in a rush. He made plant and design recommendations based on his expertise which resulted in a much more complete end result. Lone Star reinstalled my grass, pulled out two huge Mesquites, fixed my entire watering system, put in new and awesome plants and installed my lighting system.

When I pull up to my house I love the way it looks and don't have that "my landscaper ripped me off feeling". Do yourself a favor, pick up the phone and give them a call, you'll be happy you did!
