In 1951, Bob Tanner started Marathon Sheet Metal Company with nothing more than a truck and his sheet metal tools. In 1965, the name was changed to Airtron Heating and Air Conditioning. In 1979, Airtron merged with several other heating and cooling companies and carried the name throughout several states.
With Bob Tanner as the President, the company grew to become the largest residential and light commercial heating and air conditioning company in the country. But, Bob and his sons felt the desire to go back to and plant their roots in the place they call home. Tanner Heating and Air Conditioning was starting in 1986 by Bob Tanner and his two sons, Tom and Dave, and has remained a family-owned business.

Purchased a maintenance agreement from Tanner that stated "you would never need to purchase another furnace or air conditioner again. Free repairs or replacement included for life". This year after inspecting my system a few months ago I received a letter that states due to the age of my system they will no longer offer that maintenance agreement.
So for 16 years I have annually paid for this policy (enough to pay for a new system) they said from this point forward I will have to pay for any parts or labor required for my system. Very dishonest and unethical. Very dissatisfied with this business

We had our thermostat go out on a cold Saturday morning. I called a few places and Tanner Heating and Air were the only ones who could come out the same day. The woman who answered my call took my name and number and within a half hour the technician called! He was extremely nice and was at our house quickly. He was able to diagnose and fix the issue in about 45 minutes and we had heat again! The price to come out on the weekend was very reasonable and we will continue using them for all of our heating and cooling needs!

Hired them to install three new rooftop air conditioners at our business in 2017. Have had multiple service calls ever since installation. Last call was informed we needed a $1,000 repair for a failed mechanical part. Was billed $149 for the estimate (was not informed in advance that they charge for estimates). Although the unit is out of warranty, I am very disappointed in the product they sell and the way they run their business. I definitely would not recommend them.

Great service! My HVAC had multiple problems but Tyler and Daniel were very friendly and patient. They are honest and had my best interest in mind instead of trying to oversell me. I never met Shane in the office but we talked several times on the phone and he really took good care of me with the parts and getting the warranty work covered.

Recently Tanner came out on a Saturday after normal business hours. They identified the problem and did a temporary fix until they were able to get the new part. Once the new circuit panel came in he again came back and replaced the old one. He was pleasant, curious, and knowledgeable of what needed done and explained what and why he was doing. You couldn't ask for any better service.

We are selling our condo and the buyer had inspection on hvac. The company they sent wanted $650 in cleaning and freon. I called tanner for second look and Nathan came out. I was impressed with his honesty and ended up having some minor cleaning completed and freon check. Out the door $159. I will definately use tanner in the future! I also want to add the great experience over the phone when setting up appointment. Very helpful and friendly!

Tanner was one of 6 different companies I contacted for quotes on a heat pump and furnace. They quoted me a Trane system that was easily $1200 LESS than everyone else for equal model. In two of those quotes, the system was easily half the price, but quoted $1000 more than the Trane I got. I purchased the extended contract. For 10 years parts and labor, and my system, I walked away around $5500.
The system is fantastic, the service reps are great, and the sales rep gave me a no dicker price that couldn't be argued if you had already done your homework. Make Tanner your first or last quote; either way they'll win you over. The only downside was that the previous system gave out the weekend we were planning a trip to Disney World. Why do I tell you this?
Because when they come out for their annual checks, they want to know why there are Mickey Mouse ears sitting on the furnace. Its because that system represents our trip we never got to take. Planning on a new one that's 2 years from now.
