General Solar

I was a little concerned when I saw the previous reviews.even though there were just a handful. I even had another company come out and quote and paid that company $60 just to come out and quote.the other company was far more expensive.like $800 more.they wanted to change the brand of tank, add an accumulator tank, more valves, etc. I just wanted my leaking solar water heater replaced.

So I went back to General. Kent said he'd order the tank.didn't ask for any money.called me a few days later and he and another guy came out and installed it the next day. Really cool guys.no issues, cleaned up and the job certainly looks like a quality job. Recommended!

Just had General Solar out to redo my pool solar. My old system was at the end of its useful life and was getting to be a headache to maintain. Kent and Steve were very patient with me explaining the benefits of their product and what I could expect performance wise from a solar heater for my pool. They showed up on time and worked diligently to get everything hooked up. Could not be happier! Highly recommend

I worked with Steve. I had my solar hot water heater replaced under warranty, then removed and replaced when my roof was replaced. The fittings on the water heater were over torqued and started leaking after the roof replacement, but this was after the original water heater warranty ran out. I was forced to buy a new hot water heater. During the water heater replacement process I found that my solar collectors were not secured to the roof and had shifted. I couldn't even get them to return my phone call. This roof replacement was performed in 2014.

The service we received was great. Thy were able to come to work on our solar water heater had an issue. Many other places don't even work on solar water heaters. Kent and Steve came when they said they would, called when they said they would and were terrific to work with. I would recommend them to anyone and have been give a recommendation to family and friends. Thanks Kent and Steve for you great work.

Highly recommend this company! I bought a new house a little over two years ago and wanted to put solar water heating on it. I was recommended from a neighbor. I did some research and it turns out they've been around for over 30 years. Kent and Steve came out and did a great and clean install. They always get back to me promptly for any questions I have. Great company.

So glad that we contacted General Solar to add a new water heater. Steve came out to our house and had the job done in a little under an hour. Their customer service was amazing. They are a smaller company, so you get to deal with the owners. Not just somebody that has no skin in the game. I would recommend going with them for your water heater needs. Next up we are going to be adding to solar to our house. Thanks General Solar!

This is horrible business. I did install solar system from them. I tried to call them many times when our solar system does not working. NO One answer my calls or call me back although I leave voice mail ten times. Horrible business, avoid them pleasesss

Responding to both of these reviews, these systems were not installed by General Solar and these people are trying to get service on an existing systems. There have been many contractors installing different types of solar units, some parts are not available. General Solar has been in business for over 35 years. Our phones are always on, but sometimes you may have to leave a message.

General Solar just installed a new solar water heater. They did an outstanding job! When I called Kent, he was out of town, but still answered his phone. He said he would call me back as soon as he retuned. He called me and came out the very next day and replaced my broken heater. That's what I call Customer Service. He was prompt, courteous, and a great job! His pricing was right on. If you need any solar work done, call Kent at Solar General! You won't regret it!

I have an antifreeze (closed) solar water heater that was having some issues. General solar came out and resolved my issue quicker and easier than I expected. Turns out all I needed was a system recharge. Perhaps best of all, the cost was very reasonable. They did a good job of checking thoroughly for other possible issues, but also didn't make me feel like they were trying to push any unnecessary repairs on me.

They were attentive to making sure the job was done right. Customer service was great and they explained in great detail what was going on, and were friendly but professional and knowledgeable. Considering that my biggest complaint was that they were about 15 minutes late, it was a great visit.

I have used this company for over 20 years now. When we first moved into our home we inherited a solar water system. We ignored it for a while but then wondered what maintenance needed to be done. Kent came by on his way home and checked it out. Told us what to watch for and said we didn't need anything done at the moment. In 2010 we had to replace the system that was installed in 1986.

We again called General Solar and they were prompt in coming out and installing a new system. The City permitting was done without issue. Now in 2018 I'm getting offers from my AC company saying they can do maintenance on my solar water system. I'm not going to use a company that dabbles in solar. I called General Solar and again they came out in a couple of days for a maintenance check. Said the system looked good and made a couple of suggestions that would need to be done like the rod and the antifreeze.

I saw the rod after they pulled it and decided to get that and the antifreeze done, because knowing me I'd forget to have another maintenance check for another 10 years. I'm very happy with the customer service and the friendly attitude of this small business. They are quick to explain what they are doing and answer questions.

My solar water heater became defective, called several companies for service, here are some of their comments, " if we didn't install it we don't service it". "we don't do solar anymore", We live in the Valley of the Sun. I called General Solar, spoke to Kent and he said he could come to my house on Monday, I asked if he had any solar water heaters on hand, yes he did, I said please bring it when you come.

After 4 days of no hot water and taking cold showers even during a heat wave, gets old, I had hot water within 1 hour, Kent and Steve cleaned up and removed the old water heater. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you Kent and Steve. I will refer you to anyone who is interested in solar. Thanks again, Mary

I had a solar water heater installed by a different company 2 years ago. I was not happy with their customer service. Of course they were great when selling you the product then not so much when you have issues. Anyways I called the Sun-Earth company and they referred me to General Solar. I called and they came out the next day, diagnosed my problem in about 90 seconds, had the correct part on the truck and replaced it in about 25 minutes. Problem solved and now i have a good resource should problems arise in the future. I would highly recommend them.

Great service, very professional and reasonably priced. I called in this morning at 9am and by 10:45am they were out at our house. Kent and Steve were great! They were very professional and extremely informative about our solar water heater. I will continue to utilize them for service calls and will recommend them to anyone with solar concerns.
