DFW Fence Doctor

What a nightmare our fence work has turned out to be. We read great reviews about this company and contacted them using the phone number we found on ironfencedallas.com, "DFW Fence Doctor's wrought iron division". Scheduling the work was easy, it was done quickly, and I thought everything was good. However, after finding a few issues (paint was already peeling/cracking, there was some overspray on the brick/stone) that needed to be touched up a few days after the job was completed, it was impossible to get them back out to fix the issues.

After numerous texts and phone calls over several weeks, we finally called the main number listed for DFW Fence Doctor rather than the number I had for Adam, the person who actually did the work. That's where the real nightmare began. Apparently, Bryant (with DFW Fence Doctor) and Adam used to know each other years ago but Adam had a falling out with his web hosting guy and Bryant took over Adam's old site. Adam is in no way affiliated with DFW Fence Doctor, but his number was still on the website, so we had actually hired a completely different company without realizing it.

We brought this to Bryant's attention and within about 30 minutes the website was fixed and Adam's number was no longer listed. Even though he had most likely been losing business to Adam because of that mistake, Bryant was not willing to work with us to correct the mistake, and was going to charge us $700 to come out and fix Adam's poor work.

We were about to just deal with the initial lost money and have Bryant redo the work, but when he finally showed up to start he said his price was based on four iron rails, not six like we actually have. Apparently he "didn't see" the other rails in the picture we sent when he priced the job, even though all six are clearly visible in the picture. Bryant's excuse was, to paraphrase, that he gets texts all the time and just overlooked those two.

And then proceeded to say it would be an additional $200 to redo those other two rails. We were already out time and money because of Bryant's initial oversight, we were going to have to pay $700 more to fix the initial work, and then he has the nerve to try to add another $200 onto the job for yet ANOTHER oversight on his part. Bryant accepted no fault whatsoever for Adam's number being listed on his site, and did not seem willing to work with us in any way for the headache that his mistake has caused us.

He even tried to make it seem like it was my fault for hiring Adam in the first place, when the only reason that happened was because of Adam's number being on Bryant's website. I don't care if the quality of work from DFW Fence Doctor is phenomenal. The "customer service" from Bryant was terrible, and I will never give him any business or money.

We had an arbor cover made and the finished product looks so good. The crew worked hard, solved how to get the water to drain off, lined up the seams with the joists - real attention to detail. Best price quote, too.

Needed urgent repair on my gate. Great price, quick and nice job. Highly recommend.

I am so grateful to DFW Fence Doctor (Bryant, the owner and Noel, the repairman) who responded quickly and professionally when a fence panel fell during a storm and needed repair. My fence repair looks great. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a large or small job.

Bryant and his crew rescued us! We were working with a different fence contractor that wasn't getting the job done. Bryant assessed our situation, agreed to use the materials we had already purchased, and even asked a different customer if they would mind waiting a couple of days, so that they could put our fence up ASAP (since we had been without a fence already for a week).

We could not have been more lucky to have it work out as well as it did! The crew was top-notch. They promptly arrived at 8 in the morning (even in the cold and rain) and could not have been nicer or more hard working. I don't know which I love more: the fence or how clean they left the worksite!

Did not show up for scheduled visit and did not respond to my follow up. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing. They clearly do not care about their customers or potential customers.

I contacted multiple fence companies about stripping/treating/staining the fence in my back yard. DFW Fence Doctor (Owner: Bryant) was by far the most responsive company. I got a written estimate from them just a few days after my initial inquiry. Of the 4 companies that I got estimates from, Bryant gave - by far - the best price. More importantly, he did a great job and I highly recommend his services.

I got multiple bids for a rather large project. Over 400ft of fence 2 pedestrian gates and an automatic swing gate. Bryant wasn't the highest or the lowest. He was the most professional and in bidding the job he offered several options and had some really good suggestions for the project. The others simply came, measured, and sent a price. His crew was courteous, hard working, and did a fantastic job.

They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with he project and made sure to clean up every evening so that our kids could still play outside and not get hurt. Just the other day I looked out and Bryant was greasing the hinges on our gate without being asked. I would highly recommend giving them your business.

As homeowners in an area of Dallas that is in a conservation district, we were looking to have a carport and sliding gate added to our property. Bryant and DFW Fence Doctor not only did a great job building and installing our carport and gate, he met with the City of Dallas officials to get all the approvals we needed to process with the work. The quality of the work is top-notch, and reasonable as well. We'd definitely call him again for any other outdoor building projects, and recommend him highly.

After weeks of contacting fencing companies and not getting adequate responses, I ended up needing the iron gate of one of my medical clinics repaired ASAP (it's in a not-so-good area of town). I started cold calling people, and all the responses I received were."let us check our schedules and get back to you.perhaps we can schedule something for next week." When I spoke with Bryant around noon, he asked what we needed and said he'd drop by after he was done the same day and do what he could to fix the fence.

My immediate need was to have two iron pickets replaced; my not so immediate need was to have a third picket replaced and the gate fixed. I left for the day and asked my security guard to stay and meet with Bryant. Bryant showed up when he said he would (slightly after 6pm), assessed the situation, called me with a quote, allowed me to say "bill us and we'll pay you" (despite not having a relationship with us or having met me), let my security guard go home (remember, that leaves him alone in a really bad part of town after dark with thousands of dollars of equipment on him and hundreds of thousand of dollars of medical supplies in the clinic) with the promise that Bryant would lock the gate when he left, and fixed everything.

He just messaged me at 8:45pm and said he was finished, sent me photos, and assured me that he had locked the gate behind him. Wow. I wasn't sure I should trust some random stranger from a cold call to be honest and to lock the gate behind him (I even asked my security guard to double check that the clinic was locked and the alarm was on before he left).

I will be there tomorrow to check his work and I'll update this review accordingly. I'm impressed. It's very difficult to find good service in an emergency, and Bryant came through. If everything looks good in person tomorrow, I will be using him again every time I have a fencing need (business or personal). 10/15/14 update. Bryant msged me today to ask if I had seen the fence.

I replied that I hadn't had a chance yet. When I did finally get by that clinic later in the afternoon, the fence looked great. The pickets he fixed were firmly in place, and he had unbent another one. The gate lock thingy was fixed and welded all around so it can't be crowbarred again. Unfortunately during my tugging and kicking on the pickets to make sure they were solidly welded into place, I managed to find another part of the fence that needs some repair and I pulled off another picket that was loose. I'll be spending next week acting like a criminal and trying to break into my own property, then I'll call Byant back out to fix anything else that needs work.

Bryant fixed our fence after it completely blew down and ripped out the fence post after a storm. He came right out and handled it! Really nice guy and great customer service. The only place to call for fence repair.
