We live in a condo and have a small footprint of a back space that borders on Fanno Creek. Scott and Jim designed and, in conjunction with our suggestions, built a very nice deck that looks great and fits well in that space. Given their knowledge, friendliness, and professionalism, I highly recommend Landscape Solutions if you want a deck built.

Scott and his team were fantastic to work with on our backyard renovation. They listened to what we wanted and made helpful suggestions to accent the design. The work was completed ahead of schedule--even with the extreme heat--and the water feature, paver patio and path look incredible. Our backyard is definitely my favorite room of the house now! I would absolutely recommend them to others.

Based on positive reviews, I contacted Landscaping Solutions to come out and discuss plans for new turf, irrigation evaluation, drainage and plantings. It was clear from the start that Scott had the Knowledge and expertise to handle my needs, and his recommendations were spot on. Scott and crew executed the plan perfectly. I get a lot of compliments from neighbors at how nice our landscaping looks.

As a result of this project, I hired Landscaping Solutions again to completely rebuild the aged fence in my backyard. It's beautiful. In summary, I would hire Scott again in a heartbeat!

Scott and his crew are amazingly friendly and easy to work with. We needed some sprinkler heads moved for a construction project at our house, but wouldn't know the final spots to relocate them until after the project was done. Scott was able to come back a couple of times, several months apart, to complete the project. He also rescued us mid-project when our contractor hit a sprinkler line accidentally. I highly recommend Landscape Solutions and would happily work with them again.

We recently had the pleasure of working with Scott and his team to install some french drains. We had a leaky basement and it ended up being a multi-issue problem. But Scott was very thoughtful, thorough and helpful with his approach and the project went very smoothly! He even helped hang up a hose wheel just because he saw it on the ground!

Scott at Landscape Solutions made our front yard look better than ever in a very short time without it costing an arm and a leg. Scott is not just a landscaper - he is a visionary and a craftsman. So, we had him back to build our backyard fence and rebuild a water feature that was not working properly and basically looked like a pile of rocks. He made it functional and beautiful at the same time.

I watched him take a few steps back to look at his work, then move each rock by hand, just the way he envisioned it. He even transplanted moss from our rock wall to the waterfall to make it colorful and come alive. We now enjoy both the front and back, and have Scott to thank for his fine, conscientious work. In addition, his workers were polite, hard working, and worked well with another crew building an adjacent neighbor's fence. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Landscape Solutions again.

We've had Landscape Solutions perform a couple projects, including building lattice work, removing a small tree, moving paving stones, and planting 10 arborvitae trees along our back fence for privacy. Scott and his team did a great job and were a pleasure to work with throughout each project. Scott helped brainstorm solutions that would accomplish our goals, and then promptly executed the projects with minimal involvement by us, even completing one project while we were out of town.

He also went out of his way to get favorable sourcing/pricing for the arborvitae trees, which really helped keep the cost reasonable. When they were done, they did a nice job of cleaning everything up. In short, they provided great service at a reasonable price. We would not hesitate to work with Scott and his team again.

We hired Scott and his team to help us with a dry creek bed that we wanted to add to the landscaping at the front of our home. Pricing. Super. Just what we expected. Speed. Excellent. Got the job done in 2 days. Design / Result. We're happy! Exactly what we were hoping for.

We initially hired Scott to consult with us regarding landscape design for our backyard. The consultation was helpful and the first project we decided to undertake was sod installation. Although Scott's bid was not the lowest, he made very clear that he wanted to earn our business and we were confident that he would take the greatest care with the project and make sure it was done right. Scott let me know when work would begin and he was very flexible in working around other contractors' changing schedules.

He and his crew added soil and carefully tilled and raked the entire area a week before the sod installation was scheduled. When we told him we thought a few areas needed more soil, he came out again promptly to add more. The sod installation itself happened right on time and the new lawn looks wonderful! Scott even modified our existing gate to ensure it would have adequate clearance over the new lawn. We had an excellent experience working with Scott and would highly recommend his company!

We really enjoyed working with Scott's company. He is first rate and professional in every way. He's already completed two projects for us, and we're planning a new one for the spring. He's an excellent communicator, and we always knew when the work was being done. Highest recommendation.

We found Landscape solutions over Yelp and decided to proceed with the initial visit - we were a little hesitant to pay for Scott to come out and bid, but honestly that first meeting was so informative, even if we hadn't proceeded with him, we learned a ton and it was well worth our money! We decided to proceed with our french drain portion of the bid and couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

His team was very friendly, Scott himself was informative throughout the whole process. Scott said he would check up on our 'drywell' throughout the winter to ensure all is going as planned. Even after the work was done he's still been very helpful via email, answering questions in regards to other landscaping projects we want to do ourselves. Would highly recommend and hope to use Landscape Solutions again in the future.

After 13 years in our house, we finally decided to get our backyard into shape. After looking around, we found Scott and Landscape Solutions. Right from the start, Scott was personable and full of great ideas. We had a general idea of what we wanted and he took that and expanded on it with some great suggestions and gave us a fantastic, relaxing oasis in our new backyard.

The guys he had working for him were very courteous and professional and I never worried about them being at our house without me there. Scott was very hands on as well, he did a lot of the work, not just supervising. When there were changes or additions, he talked to us about them and then let us know if there would be an additional cost involved.

He checked in a couple of times during the project to make sure we were liking the way things were going and to see if we had any concerns. The only thing I would have to say was lacking was his communication response time. Sometimes I would email and answer a question he had asked but would not hear back for a while and the next time I saw him at the house, he would then respond but this was minor.

I would also recommend taking good notes and emailing them to him just to make sure you are both on the same page. Sometimes we talked about some things but then they were forgotten, but again, this was little stuff. The work he did was top notch and we are very pleased with everything. He even brought in extra sod for our side yard where the tractor had gone in and made that nicer than it was in the first place.

I would highly recommend him. He was easy to work with and we will definitely use him again when we get ready to do our front yard in the next couple of years. Thank you Scott. It was a pleasure. We love our yard!

I wasn't sure where to find a landscape company who would take on a smaller project. I had already found examples of stonework to replace my cedar retaining wall. Once the job began, Scott took my ideas into consideration. He made sure my concerns with drainage were met. At one point the stone work needed readjustment. That's when Scott and his team promptly restructured the stone to meet my expectations. It was easy working with Scott during this process. I also appreciate the 1 year guarantee with Landscape Solutions work.

I was interested in hiring Scott to install a french drain after reading the many positive reviews on Yelp but was very disappointed with my experience. First Scott charges $75 to do an "assessment" needed for a quote. After the assessment, which was very basic and didn't uncover anything new, I never heard back from him. A week later I wrote him to ask when we would be receiving a quote.

He then said he was "not comfortable being involved with our project given our pre-existing conditions" (i.e., a "small space and an existing pipe in the way"), despite having done hundreds of jobs of all levels of complexity. He never mentioned this during his assessment. I feel like I wasted two weeks, $75 and an admin headache. Of course there was no offer to refund the $75.

I hope this review is helpful in saving someone else from this type of experience. [Update] After posting the above review, Scott sms'd me and phoned me multiple times to get me to take my review down, even threatening twice to seek legal action (Wow!). My review was my honest experience. During this time he did offer to refund the $75 and smsed me a drawing of the area, although it's hard to just be ok with everything after the fact and at the same time as I'm being threatening with legal action for writing an honest but negative Yelp review.

I am not a huge Yelp reviewer and my other reviews are all positive because I believe in supporting great businesses but I also believe in highlighting poor experiences when they feel particularly disrespectful, especially when I hired someone because of their Yelp reviews. To be clear, I never said that if he did not help me I would write a negative review on Yelp - why would I have rewarded his behavior by hiring him? Anyway, I just want to put what has become quite a stressful experience behind me.

We hired Scott to complete our backyard. After a bad experience with another landscaper, we contacted Scott to help us realize our garden plan. Scott was by far the most responsive landscaper we contacted and very pleasant to deal with. He took our plan and got the work done in a timely manner. He fixed our french drains, created some plantar boxes, built an enclosure for the air conditioner, graded the yard and installed pathways, lawn, and garden beds.

He was very responsive to our requests and offered a very competitive price for the work. We are very happy with the result. Overall he was great to work with and I would recommend him without reservation.

We hired Scott and the team at Landscape Solutions to execute the design (by our landscape architect) of planting and hardscaping of our front yard almost three years ago. Our designer is fairly particualar and we were able to work with Scott on the additional problems associated with our yard. He found us the right solution for our drainage issues as well as fixing the drainage under the yard.

He also came up with great ideas when needed. He installed hardscaping (all the rock and metal edging) and took care of all the details with planting our entire front yard. We had a very structured plan and his team took every effort to make it perfect. He even measured each plant to ensure it was done to spec. Our front yard is gorgeous! The care his team took in augmenting the soil was key as well and makes a huge difference. Scott has also been available to give good advice on the care of my plants and other issues I've had with other areas in my yard. Scott was easy to work with, on time and a true pleasure.

His bidding process was painless and very detailed. I will look no further when hiring another landscape specialist and we have more to go! UPDATE: Almost 4 years going strong and our front yard garden could not look any better. We fully believe without Landscape Solutions expertise our yard would not receive as many compliments as we do. The design was executed with the utmost care for the plants and soil and we have never lost a plant in the entire process. I only watered my garden twice this year and it is truly evolving! I cannot imagine doing any of the additional projects we have lined up without Scott.

I was really disappointed by the disregard I received from Scott. I paid for the initial consultation which I was told would include a plan and a quote for landscaping my backyard. He said he'd have it to me within a week. After 2 weeks I called to ask if it was ready yet. It wasn't. I was understanding and waited the additional week he requested.

Still no word. I contacted him again, and again he promised it to me in another week. This went on for 6 WEEKS! I finally received an e-mail with a (very bare bones) drawing of the plan, but no quote. After yet another 2 weeks of asking for a quote, I still hadn't received one. I sent him a friendly e-mail explaining that after 2 months in and still no quote, I'd like to explore other options.

I figured that the least he could do would be to refund me the consultation fee as a professional courtesy for all my time he wasted, which he refused. I was very patient and understanding throughout the entire process and was surprised by the lack of consideration he gave.

This review is overdue! Scott did a great job building a pathway, lighting, garden bed, and patio for our home in Portland. We had a very sloped backyard so it was not an easy job. He is a great guy to work with. He cares about his customers. I had some issues with erosion with sand and he came back to address and fix them. We were very happy with his work. We recently sold the house and I believe Scott's work helped sell it so fast!

We had Scott draw up plans for our backyard to include a cement patio with pergola, plants, and hard-scape. He provided us with a detailed plan that looked like it would suit our needs. Indeed it does! Scott and his crew completed all the work from pouring the concrete, building and staining the pergola, repairing our sprinkler system, and completely re-landscaping our backyard.

We now love to spend time in our backyard and receive compliments from everyone who comes over. In fact we were so impressed and pleased with his work that we had him do the front yard as well.
