Peak One Builders & Restoration

If I had to characterize Peak One Builders & Restoration with one word, it would be, professionalism. Peak One is owned and operated by Mike Christenson, a still young army veteran who is the embodiment of trust, integrity, experience, and a can-do attitude. Mike, Jesse, Morgan and team were great to work with from providing a detailed estimate and scope of work that we could use with our insurance company, all the way through permitting, demolition, rebuilding, and finishing of our kitchen / great room.

A lot of this happened while we were away and I cannot say more in terms of how we trusted Mike, Jesse and team to be working in our home while we were not present. It was easy for us to discuss challenges and follow-up items with Mike as they arose - he was unflappable, solution-oriented and he and Jesse worked hard to make sure we were satisfied.

We are very pleased with the outcome of our kitchen / great room project, and are very happy that we worked with Mike Christensen and the team at Peak One Builders along with their kitchen cabinet partner, Affinity Kitchens.

I have worked for years with the team at Peak One through my employer, Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors. Mike and his team have managed and built and/or remodeled all 5 of the homes that our foundation has built in Arizona for critically wounded combat veterans. We hired Peak One for a major remodel for our kitchen, dining, and living room. The original estimated time for completion was about 3 months, but due to poor project management (in our opinion), the actual time was significantly longer than that. Initial demolition took one week which was fine. However, the next week, not a single worker showed up.

Over the next several months, there were many weeks when workers showed up for only a few hours per week. The quality of some of the subcontractors was poor and frequently workers would show up having to ask us what they were supposed to be doing that day. The painters were sloppy and planned on leaving prior to final touch ups, although we got them to satisfactorily complete their work.

The cutout in the granite for the cooktop was off center. The tile setters had to come back twice because the wall had not been prepared properly and the appliance installers had to return to put in the range hood as that space was also not prepared properly. We believe that the majority of problems was due to lack of foresight and inexperience on the part of Peak One's project manager.

In addition, we expected the project manager to return onsite at the end of each day to oversee progress, but there were many times he didn't show up. Other problems included unfair charges that we thought we had an agreement with Mike that we were going to be reimbursed, but in the end he seemed to remember things differently, so that didn't happen. I did not hire Peak One for two additional phases of our remodel.

A big thanks to Mike Christensen and his team at Peak One Builders! We were having an issue with our architect so we researched four custom home builders to take over our project. Peak One was the hands down winner and we are are so glad we picked them. Mike took our plans, collaborated with us to fix them, and then built us a great house that we are very proud of! Mike's military background was a critical factor in our choice and he came through with flying colors.

His attention to detail was amazing. He exhibited a high level of integrity, ie, he always followed through on what he said. His professionalism and structural engineering background gave us comfort that we have a well-built house. His team at Peak One were very competent and showed us respect for our time and choices, and were always there to answer questions and guide us through the entire process.

We would highly recommend Peak One Builders to build your custom home. I have offered Mike to bring potential clients through our house anytime and show them what a beautiful, solid house we built. The best thing about Mike is that he really cares. From day one, he was fully engaged and stayed with us on every decision until completion (and still calls regularly to see if we are satisfied).

We were referred to Mike and Peak One Builders by our realtors when we couldn't find the exact house with the view we wanted. Mike and his team turned the house into just what we pictured. We did a complete renovation, basically taking everything to the studs of the existing 3000 sq. ft. home and added an additional 1500 sq. ft., including a master wing, office, bedroom and a casita. Mike's construction knowledge and attention to detail are second to none. Jesse's communication and work ethic far exceed those in the industry.

They were both willing to go out of the box and try different projects to make the house unique and one of a kind. They were flexible and understanding to ensure they met our needs and completed the job quickly. - Bryan & Bobi These are just a few before and after pictures.

Mike and his team at Peak One are absolutely fabulous. They executed a remodel in our home this past fall and they handled every aspect in a professional manner. Their work was high quality, they always communicated well, and they have the highest integrity. I know that sounds a little too good to be true -- but it is. I highly recommend Mike and his team!

I remodeled my master bathroom and chose Peak One Builders & Restoration as the General Contractor. They are members of my "dream team." I like everything about Peak One - I like their story, their people, and their commitment to quality. The owner, Mike Christensen, was very detailed in his bid. He had more answers than I had questions! The Project Manager, Lee Ellis, could not have been better. Lee provided a project schedule and plenty of updates throughout the project.

He scheduled meetings at my convenience and was always on time. I can't say enough about the quality of the work, the attention to detail, and their professionalism and trustworthiness. I think the true test is how I feel about Peak One now that the project is done. The remodeled bathroom is beautiful! They have followed up on every punch-list item. I am very happy with the project, I have recommended them to friends, and they are at the top of my list for the next project.

Mike is a great communicator with outstanding experience and an excellent crew that has been with him for many years. His subcontractors are the best available in the valley. The team over at peak one builders did an exceptional job with our home. We came to Peak One with a vision, and told them to take it from there. Their advice and expertise along the way was incredibly valuable, and spot on. We did a full home remodel, including 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, family room, dining room and a kitchen. I am about 8 months out from my remodel being done and haven't even had a single issue with any of the work that was done. I believe that speaks for itself!
