Alex and his crew is FABULOUS. I can't recommend him highly enough. We've worked with him on a few different projects now, both interior and exterior, and his attention to detail, the long-lasting quality of his work, and even his assistance when it comes to specific color choices raises him to the next-level. Plus, he's such a nice person! He's the best--period.

Alex has worked in my home on 3 occasions and I honestly could not have been more impressed! He was timely in providing cost estimates and the quality of his work cannot be beat. The last bedroom that he painted for me needed wall repairs and a great quality paint job. He and his courteous crew came through with flying colors, the room is gorgeous! Alex is a genuine guy and quite the gentleman. He's a good solid businessman and I will be calling him in the future.

Alex Davidson Painting recently completed a highly ornamented mahogany door that I made. While speaking with Alex and his colleague, and observing the quality (perfection!) of their finishes I now know who I want to refer to in the future. From experience, I know that there are few things as difficult to paint as a door that has complex moldings and all over it and is made from tropical wood.

This was the first time I ever met Alex. He is as professional and good natured as anyone could possibly be. I can see why he leaves a wake behind him of elated customers. I noticed the only reviews less than 5-stars are from people he never actually worked for! So suspect, and oh so typical of mean people. I'm looking forward to referring customers to Alex in the near future so I'm starting here! It's such a relief to find a professional painter with experience and a professional network of his own. I highly recommend Alex for interior and exterior painting. I'm confident you will have a hassle-free experience and you'll receive a professionally completed job.

Wow! I can't say enough nice things about Alex and his work. He responded right away to my inquiry for interior painting, he was patient when we had a snafu with our first appointment, he offered a very competitive and reasonable price, and he did the work right away. I also appreciated his expertise about the types of paint that were used, what he would use, and how he would correct particular concerns, all of which illustrated how much he cares about his work. Lastly, he offered some useful guidance and help with some separate issues that emerged after the job was completed. The place now looks lighter, brighter, and generally great. I would definitely reach out to him again. He is a gem!

We hired this company at the recommendation of Todor at Electro-Integrity to patch up the holes made during an electrical installation. Alex and his team did an excellent job of patching up numerous holes on the ceiling and on the wall created by the re-wiring process, and when painted (which they matched with the existing paint color), the wall and ceiling were like new.

They also cleaned up very well after the painting. They also delivered exactly on time. Overall an excellent patching/painting company. We would hire them again if the need arises.

I have never written review in Yelp before, but decided to do it now to express my total satisfaction of all works done on my house over the years by Quality Painting and Construction Co. Few years ago they remodeled my deck and painted outside the house. The quality of the job done was outstanding. Selection of colors and their combination was done so well that later on many houses, as I noticed in the neighborhood, were repainted using the same colors.

Nice to see it. Just month ago, when I notices some minor repair work required on my house and called their office for help, I was very please with support and help regardless of their busy schedule at the end of the year. Alex and his crew approached the job of repainting our home with the utmost attention to detail and delivered great results. Alex provided great recommendations on the type of paint finish we should use in different areas of the house. The team was are responsible, reliable and treated our space with care. We were very pleased with their work throughout the house, including in some challenging areas -- e.g. showers with high ceilings and skylights, stairwells, 20 ft high loft style walls. Alex was responsive to questions sent via email/text/call. Going forward, we'll only be using Alex Davison Painting!

The company was referred to me by one of the owner's friends. I called and after 2 seconds of conversation was asked to text my information. I promptly sent my information about getting my house painted. Never heard back from the company. Obviously, they do not want any business

I pretty much never do Yelp reviews, but in this case I feel I have to. We've used Alex and his crew multiple times, in multiple different residences. He's not just professional and competent - he's also a genuinely nice and considerate person. This combination seems to be very rare in the contractor world in SF these days, and it's hugely refreshing to work with Alex as a result.

The work has been exceptional every time, he's been creative solving problems inherited from General Contractors, and he is exceptionally reasonable in his pricing. I'll use him every time I have a problem - and am happy to wait to get his crew as a result. Thanks Alex!

Alex and crew did a great job painting the interior of our house. I put many bids out, and Alex was the only one who responded (although that says more about painters in general)! The process of getting a bid, quote and consultation was great - the thing I really like about Alex, in addition to the great work - was that he offered his opinions on what would work and what would not.

I really valued this as we were not 100% on everything we wanted to do (probably 90% but had some lingering, "should we do this or that?" type questions). Alex was great helping navigate the options and making us fully clear on what he thought of each one! At one point in in finalizing the work to be done and the quote, we had a bit of a misunderstanding (not anyone's fault - just one of those things that wasn't explicitly noted) but we worked through it and Alex even threw in some additional patch-up work in as a bonus.

To me, how things are handled when points of conflict arise says a lot about how the whole job will go. On this Alex did not disappoint - I like the way he handled things. When the work began, the team that came in was amazing - their prep was great as we had lots of wall issues (bumps, holes) that they expertly handled. They were finished ahead of schedule and the clean up was so good it was almost as if they hadn't been there, really! And everything looked great - probably the most important thing. This was my experience - would definitely hire Alex again should another opportunity come up.

I don't make a habit of writing yelp reviews but felt compelled here as a sign of my appreciation to Alex and his crew. He was recommended to us by an electrician who did some electrical work for new light fixtures (also great). The electrical work required that they make several holes in the walls, including two holes on a wall that had a layer of textured wall paper and paint on it.

The job involved patching the sizable holes and repainting two full rooms, one ceiling and a few other small areas. They were even able to mimic the texturing for the wallpaper wall so that you couldn't see the difference between the original wall paper texture and plastered portion. Not only was Alex himself professional and knowledgeable, but every man on his crew met and exceeded the same standard.

They cleaned as they went which was amazing since I have two toddler boys. The job ran 3 days and they put everything back like they found it each day (we could hardly tell they had been there each day). They are finishing up today and I'm thrilled with how everything looks. If you are looking for a professional and trustworthy crew, and especially if you have complicated aspects to your job, Alex is a great choice.

Alex and his crew are the BEST! We researched and got bids from four local SF painters before we took the plunge and picked Davison Painting for our exterior paint job. We are out of town landlords and needed to pick someone that we trusted and would be communicative - Alex exceeded our expectations. He kept us in the loop throughout the whole process, sent photo updates, and made helpful suggestions as they went. Ours was a big job (old paint removal, multi-story home, and coordinating with other construction workers) and they did an amazing job.

The final product is beautiful. Although his bid was not the cheapest, the quality and thoroughness is un-matched, and I have great confidence in their work. On top of that, Alex is an extremely kind person, a pleasure to do work with. We will definitely be hiring them for any future painting needs.

I needed to paint the exterior of my home and found Alex Davison Painting online based on the fabulous yelp reviews. I called Alex and arranged a time for him to provide an estimate. Alex arrived at my house and informed me that I would have an estimate with a day or two. After about 3 to 4 weeks and several phone calls (even speaking with Alex on multiple occasions) and texts to inquire about the status of obtaining a quote.

I had still not received one. I can't fathom how this company stays in business or how they can meet an deliverable or deadline. I would stay away from Alex and all his false promises unless you don't value your time and feel like chasing someone to perform their job. I gave them 1 star because you can't give them zero stars.

Alex and his crew work miracles. My plaster was chipping, paint was peeling and my hallway had an "elephant skin" appearance on the ceiling. Alex returned them all to a pristine state. I couldn't be happier with the job and with Alex. I will definitely use them in the future for all of my painting needs!

This is long overdue and so well- deserved. Alex had his team come to paint my bedroom. They did a good job. However, they did not take down the curtains and when I went to bed that night found paint on two of the curtains. I reached out to Alex and he was appalled not only that it happened, but more so that I had to find it myself. He immediately offered to replace the curtains.

This is where Alex went above and beyond, especially for a single bedroom paint job. Months had passed. I had not contacted him despite purchasing new curtains, and HE CALLED TO FOLLOW UP! After I forwarded the receipt, I received a check within the week. WOW! What a great work ethic and company! I have told many people and hope to be sending business his way! Thank you so much Alex! I hope I have a larger job for you soon!

It was initially somewhat difficult to track Alex down to paint our forthcoming baby's room, but the team was very nice, very professional, and very fast. Not to mention the room looks great. Thanks guys!

Alex Davison Painting promptly returned my calls and after comparing bids and reviews, I selected them to paint the exterior of my stucco house in San Francisco. Their bid was not the cheapest, but was in the ballpark. I was very happy with the outcome. Very nice guys to deal with, very professional about their work. They spent a good amount of time on prep work I was happy to see. Gravel scraped away from the walls, peeling areas addressed, weather stripping on doors removed, etc.

I think they did a neat, tidy job and cleaned up well after the work was finished. I'm pretty picky about things like damaged plants and paint drips on the driveway, and there wasn't a single complaint. I would recommend them, and hire them again for my next job.

Just got off the phone with them. Making my rounds to see who can paint my company logo on my studio wall. Every other place put me on hold for 4 minutes, was rash and rude. but when I called here he spent time thinking of a place that could help me out instead and recommended that I also type in 'hand painted logos'. duh. genius. A place that helps you out even when they can't help you out? I'll be calling them when I move out of the house. thanks!

From start to finish Alex was professional, honest and an absolute pleasure to work with. We had our condo painted and he worked with our budget, was fast and the work was GREAT. He even went above and beyond on some things that were not in the original estimate and that he didn't charge us for. We will definitely use him again!

Alex is a very nice person - I would hire him again in a minute for any type of painting or drywall. I am sure he does more, but that is what he did for me. I had some electrical work done to my bathroom, with the result that there were eight holes in the previously pristine walls and ceiling. Alex was recommended by my electrician, who was also great (and on Yelp). Alex showed up on time, was completely professional (and great at responding to email), and quickly made the holes in my wall a thing of the past.

Within 2 quick visits, my wall and ceiling looked exactly the same as they had before the electrical work. He even took pictures in case there is ever an inspection to prove that the caulking was performed to code. Aside from being very good at the drywall and painting, he was a great person - friendly and trustworthy. His rates were quite reasonable, but to me, having someone you trust is just as important.
