Mountain View Landscapes has been creating and maintaining gorgeous commercial and residential landscapes in Gresham, Troutdale and Fairview, Oregon for over 25 years. Owner Russ Alex got started in the landscaping business after he was laid off from a factory job. He turned his hobby into a career and now employs eight full-time landscape professionals year-round.Landscaping firms often experience a high level of turnover or hire temporary employees during the summer months, but Mountain View's seasoned crew has been working together for over 10 years. In just one day, Mountain View Landscapes can transform a lifeless area into a gorgeous greenscape. Be ready for picnics, games and outdoor enjoyment! We always measure carefully and make sure the sod fits just right. We level the soil prior to installation to ensure a flat lawn. We water it well and can even install a sprinkler system so you never have to worry about it.

Edit 5/2021 - Another amazing job by these guys! Third project within 2 years and I will still say I will not use anyone else. Another five star job. The side yard just could not handle the amount of traffic and lack of sun. We wanted some east to maintain and pretty. Now we have a beautiful walk way that keeps the mud down, and doubles as a level corn hole area! Tim and his guys are amazing, fast, and very reasonable on price.
They have gone above and beyond every time. Before and after photos posted. Along with my considerably less muddy fur kids. Edit: 9/25/2020 - We just had these guys out for a second project and if I could give more stars I would. They are an amazing group who go above and beyond to make sure you are happy and your project is exactly how you want it to be.
We were having issues with the "wall" in our RV pad being at an angle (see picture from 2nd story window below), making it hard to park our fifth wheel. We would park it, but it would stick out 4 feet into the driveway. With the new wall, we can park it all the way in and actually put the stairs down. I am a customer for life. Next up! Sprinkler system. 11/2019 - These guys did a phenomenal job creating a retaining wall on a hill I had no idea what to do with.
They process for a quote was relaxed, and timely. Russ came out and looked at the wall and immediately knew what to do. His quote was very reasonable. We barely had to wait a month for them to have time to complete the job. It took the crew about two and a half days to complete. They were clean and respectful, and an all around talented group. I would highly recommend these guys. I will be calling them in the future with landscaping needs. Thank you!

We wish to commend Mountain View Landscapes for the work they recently performed for us. Ours was a residential job and likely small-scale compared to many of their contracts. We wanted an existing lawn removed, new sod installed, an irrigation system, excavation to level some ground and a retaining wall. Russ arrived with an experienced crew who quickly gained an understanding of what we wanted.
The excavation required a bit more work and required more time than originally planned but they saw the job through to completion which made us feel like we were as important to them as are their larger customers. They provided us what we wanted and with excellent results. Further they offered to follow up with us at any time should we have questions or issues.
We would definitely hire them again. Be forewarned: It is necessary to request service well in advance to get on their schedule. Apparently this company is in high demand and we now recognize why that is so.

I called Russ and got an immediate return call. He came out, listened to my design request and gave me an incredibly reasonable bid. During execution a few of my desires changed and he was accommodating and fair and completed the project in two days in a timely way. I would return to this company again as it is trustworthy and his guys have been with him for years. -Brenda

As a construction professional, I've utilized the services of a large number of landscape contractors. So when I hired Russ, I wasn't expecting the remarkably personal and thoughtful design services I received. He went the extra mile to recommend design elements and plantings that harmonized with my hardscape. It was visionary - yet surprisingly affordable.
