Steve's Door Installation

Update: Dropping Steve down to 1 star because after removing the exterior molding, it was no surprise that there was very little insulation between the door frame and house frame. I told my wife that a strong f@rt would have probably knocked the doors in. Bottom line up front: I'm giving Steve's Doors two stars because the door installation meets the requirements: they open, they close, they lock, they unlock.

But not much beyond that. With that said, I'm quite disappointed with the quality of installation of the two exterior doors installed in my house. When Steve arrived, the first comment was "I wish I wouldn't have taken this job" Right then I should have sent him packing, but I didn't. Anyways I'll keep it simple with a list of pros/cons Pros: - I didn't have to install the door myself, saving time Cons: - I paid a lot for the doors and to get these installed, with mediocre craftsmanship on the installation and not much care on the side of how much the doors cost - No choice of molding, I got what I got and it doesn't match existing molding - striker plates bent during installation - gaps at the bottom of the door - front door closes, but is "loose" - door moves back and forth - rear door closes, but is "tight" - deadbolt hard to close - Steve whined about installing electronic locks (amongst other whining) - rear door trim doesn't extend around full frame - shipping staples on front door not removed prior to installation, gouged top of frame - screw stripped in deadbolt installation - caulking around frame and molding was terribly done - rear door seal torn on installation - door handles installed crooked - they made a huge mess and really didn't clean up Yeah, maybe I'm being too critical, but I paid this guy because I thought he would do a great job and save my time of doing it myself.

I can honestly say that I feel my money wasn't well spent and now I have to fix some of the problems as to not get irritated every time I look at my new doors. Again, they open, they close, they lock, they unlock. Not much else left for impressiveness

Steve and his son recently installed four doors for use. They showed up when expected, did an excellent job with the install, and cleaned up after themselves. We couldn't be happier with the end result.

This Company is very Professional and does Fantastic work. They fixed my Storm Door which was cheaply Installed originally. It had completely came off the door frame. Steve and his Son installed it securely and won't ever come off from the frame. I highly recommend this Company, to anyone who wants a door installed right. Will be doing more business with them on future door projects.

After a break-in, I called and submitted online requests to quite few places. I got a hold of Steve and he was able to come over, give me an estimate and start the installs on my entryway. It took a few days before my front door could be installed, but he secured my front entry with a security door and workable locks til then. I still haven't received callbacks from any of the other places I called. I know this time is very busy and even consultations are weeks out, but I'm so happy I got a hold of and went with Steve. Great work and very friendly. I love my new entry.

We hired Steve to fix some "matched set" interior doors that a local door company had completely botched. Steve knew exactly what to do and fixed every single door to perfection. He even adjusted a couple exterior doors without any extra charge. Highly recommend his services if you need any door work. He is definitely the go-to professional in Albuquerque.

Steve and his crew do great work! They came by the first day I called and gave us an idea of the work needed and costs for installing a new security door to our older home with a weird frame. We scheduled a day for the work to be done and the crew arrived right on time and got the work done quickly and professionally. Our new door looks awesome, is super secure, and we feel it was done for more than a fair price. Our next step is installing a security door for the back of the house and we will definitely be calling Steve again!
