Recently switched to miller pools from another pool service that was very unreliable (showed up on random days; some weeks not at all until our pool turned green). We had miller come out and drain the pool, acid wash the plaster, refill, and replace filter and other parts on the equipment. That was all done very well and the pool is back in great shape. However, since we began having them service our pool weekly, I was told "I will be here early morning on Wednesday's each week to clean the pool".
Not once has their schedule matched what I was told and we have complained several times now. I have two larger dogs, and I really don't appreciate having someone enter my backyard unannounced and unexpectedly at random times every week. He has come on Thursday evenings, Friday morning today; and any other time BUT the time scheduled. This week we were set to have a chlorinator installed and they even called to say they would come on Wednesday between 10am and 1 pm.
I locked up my dogs all day and they NEVER came. They also didn't call to give any reason for not coming. Then all day Thursday passes and they still don't come. He finally came this morning, totally unexpected and he says the water level is too low to clean, despite it being up to the pool skimmers. They also have a policy to charge $45 if they come out and cannot clean for this reason.
I don't believe we were charged today but it really irritates me that they can come any time they please. The VERY least they could do is text or call on the day they are actually coming, but last time they did "confirm" our service they didn't come. This is becoming very frustrating as it is almost the same reason we changed our service in the first place.
Absolutely livid with them today! I was leaning toward 1 star but they did well with the acid wash and upgrading our system. So far their pool cleaning service is incredibly frustrating and unreliable.

Im done with Miller pools never again they dont even try to clean pool when its green they want to drain it and scrub walls thats there easy fix why dont you put chemicals clean filter scrub the walls and see what happens im not going to drain 30000 gallons of water and fill it back up btw I did the work myself and in 4 days it was ready to swim you try and give local companies work to support but at the end of the day they rather not help you so im done with them.

As many other reviews have stated the owner has a high horse attitude. He doesn't need your business. Take your business elsewhere. Staff is mediocre. Very little communication between the office and the field workers. Extremely defensive if you ask them any questions or a try to get any accommodations. Don't even bother asking if they criminally background check their workers. Bunch of thugs

They came by and adjusted the pool pump, when they were only supposed to clean the filter. The guy put the filter in backwards causing my pool pump to run dry and overheat. Their solution was to have me pay for a technician to come out, and instead of trouble shooting the pump, replace the $600 pump. They blamed me for adjusting the pump, which I never even touched.
I hired another pool company to come out and trouble shoot it, which was a simple, cheap fix. Also they want to charge you a $150 for a pool school to teach you how to operate your pool valves, which the technician at the other company taught me to do in 5 minutes. There are better and cheaper companies. Do not let them scam you as new pool owner.

Miller has been servicing my pools for about 20 years in 2 different houses. They have always done a remarkable job fixing items and walking me through the process. Until we had to replace a Pentair Quad DE filter. I have always taken care of my pool needs until they replaced the quad filter with the exact same model but a new one. We have been trying to get them to fix it or replace the new Quad De filter about 4 months after they installed the exact same filter with a new one.
The pressure will not stay down which effect the skimmers and the spa spill way. Typically you don't need to clean your filter but 2 times a year. With the new one we are cleaning it about every 1 to 2 months. The filter is so clogged up it makes the skimmer and spillway stop working. Yes they have had people over to look at it. First suggestion was put 1/2 the amount of De you would normally use. Did that didn't work.
They sent another repair man over and he unclogged the filter and replaced the pressure gauge for the 3rd time. This has been at are expensive. The problem never stopped. Again they sent and person out and Johnny was supposed to be there but wasn't. This time they again unclogged the filter and left the DE out of it to see if this would help.
When they tried this fix the service agent broke the plastic gasket around the handle when he was cleaning filter. He said no problem he would stop by and replace it. After the trail with no De they were supposed to replace all the 4 quad filters. It never happened. I still have 2 of the original filters from the new filter I bought 1 new filter and used one from my old pump.
They have still not replaced them. Now I have a new weekly service guy who I informed about all the issues with the new filter. Now he just calls in when I'm not here to have the filter cleaned because the pressure is to high. Each time I'm charged for it. They are cleaning the filter about every 1 to 2 months. While I was gone husband had enough with the filter and called the service manager.
The service manager said since we went with a different pump which you add sand to the pressure runs higher. He also explained that they had replaced every item in the pump that we showed have replaced the filter with the pentair Quad De filter. We did replace it with the Quad filter. When I got back home I cleaned the filter to see if I was missing something.
The quad filters are marked and they were still there. Apparently, someone was supposed to come out again but never did. I totally believe they are waiting for the warranty to run out to make us by yet another one! I used to recommend them to everyone but not now. They fix other problem that arise but don't want to be bothered with the De filter. This has been going on for over 3 years with absolutely nothing done.

I have been using Miller Pools for almost three years for weekly maintenance service. Prior to that I was doing my own maintenance. I always felt no one will take better care of your pool than you. Miller was highly recommended to me and now I know why. They do a great job at a reasonable price. They have great customer service and are always professional.
Every member of their staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. Anytime I call, they are quick to respond to my questions and requests. I really like the fact Michael Miller is always in the loop and he personally makes sure your needs are met. I have never had a problem that was not taken care of in a reasonable amount of time.
On the recent holiday weekend, I contacted them for an issue and Johnny sent Dylan out within two hours and fixed our problem so we could enjoy our pool and spa over the holiday. This was exceptional service since we are in this pandemic and have to stay home. It makes it mandatory to have our pool and spa in working condition. Miller Pools never fails to keep their commitment to maintaining our pool even during these trying times.
I truly appreciate Michael Miller for running a top notch service company. And I truly appreciate the professionalism and the great customer service from each and every employee. I am completely satisfied with Miller Pools and highly recommend them to anyone reading this! (They do take care of my pool like I would.)

Miller Pools is one of the best pool companies I have ever used and I have had pools at different homes for the last 20 years. If you have a problem, call Miller Pools, they will give you an upfront diagnosis and then give you straight forward recommendations on how to fix you issue. If you have a home warranty company insuring your equipment, ask the warranty company if Miller Pools is a certified vendor.you will be glad you did!

I had Miller pools update my 15 year old pool. He has a skilled crew. My deck and pool are so beautiful. They finished on, budget on totally on schedule. Very impressed as the owner of the company is totally hands on. He was here everyday. Inspecting the work. They also maintain my pool on a weekly basis. We couldnt be happier.

Miller Pools was to do the work. warranty from American home shield. They turned the pool off and disconnected it at the height of summer and took 4 weeks to come back inspite of repeat calls to them. This was the state of the pool.a green lagoon. Use at your own risk.not professional in my opinion. I have not used them again. This is for work in Austin and the company shows up as being in Houston.so I am not sure if they are the same.

Only redeeming thing is that they show up. Extremely variable on quality of clean depending on who they have on your route. Last string for me was someone telling me they cleaned my pool with my spa looking like swamp thing had just took a bath. At least owner refunded deposit. It's sad because owner in committed to his business but maybe it's gotten too big to handle.

My pool might have been clean but every time Lee showed up I felt like I was walking on egg shells. He seemed so angry, my children would say hi to him and he would ignore them and constantly slam gates and was talking to himself in an aggressive manner. We would try to discuss issues with our pool and heater and there was never a resolution. Our spa had a constant algae build up that was completely ignored.
We had a specific "cleaning" day but Lee would show up on random days without a warning startle my family. Completely unapproachable and unprofessional, when we cancelled our service after a year, not even as much as a thank you for your business. I would never recommend to my worst enemy.

We used this pool service for a couple of years. Truthfully they do not deserve even ONE star but that is the lowest rating allowed. Not only did we have tremendous issues with their customer service and communication but my pool was in a shambles under their care. We noticed a horrible algae problem while under their care. This ultimately resulted in stains that could not be removed and as a result we had to Re plaster our pool.
When we took the water for testing WHILE UNDER THEIR CARE there was absolutely NO chlorine in the water. We realized the service people were placing a single chlorine tablet into our skimmer basket which is WRONG. The chlorinator was empty As they had not been refilling it. It took us the entire summer after terminating their service to get the pool back to normal. When I called to address this with the owner he never returned any calls.

We were referred to Miller pools through our home warranty. Our routine pool service had been from another provider, so I was hesitant. Thank goodness for them! They were fantastic and proactive in fixing our issue. They've continued to be helpful with any advice needed. Thankful every time I hit the power on button for the new heater!

I have utilized their regular service for the past year, and I am very pleased to offload that maintenance with no more trips to the pool store with water samples and chemical purchases. Service is reliable, and they always respond to any additional requests that I may have. This past summer, Miller Pools also re-plastered my 10-year-old pool. The price was competitive (not the lowest) and I received excellent quality of work. I am an engineer (so I ask lots of questions), but the met or exceeded all my expectations. Thank you.

I just have a few things to say about Miller Pools. I was a customer of there's for 8 years they cleaned our pool every week. We decided to remodel our pool so I stopped by and asked Mike Miller to please give us a bid he said it would be a few weeks before he could get by 5 Weeks later my wife calls and he finally makes it by. When he shows up he gets mad at my wife and has a few words with her because we had received other bids from 5 other pool contractors.
He turns and walks to his truck and drives off my wife calls the office and they tell her they do not need the work and decline to bid the job. Several days later we receive a E-mail from Mike Miller telling us they are taking us off the route and will no longer be servicing our pool. I ask why and Mike Miller tells me I should have the company that does the Remodel service it and they do not service pools they do not remodel. ( I believe he got his little feelings hurt when he realized he would need to be competitive).
We were waiting to get his price before making a decision sense we had been a long term customer but he help us with that by acting like a child and storming off. I would not recommend him to anyone for a remodel. We picked Leo and Everest Pools they have been a pleasure to work with and are almost finished with the pool. Once I called a few other Pool Services Company's I realized they are on the High Side with there prices.

The only good thing about Miller is their followup service calls, however, when they show up they will not clean your pools to a good standard. We had a horrible experience with Miller Pools. They serviced our business's pools and we came to discover they were not cleaning the filters at all- we ended up having broken pump because of the deferred maintenance.
We also discovered they were not maintaining our saltwater pools at all, and were treating them as chlorine. This caused our salt cell to break. These pools were not even up to public pool standard and were a hazard to our customers. Also, they cleaned my home pool- and it always looked dirty afterward. They would not scrub the pool at all and they would carelessly throw the chlorine where it would leave a calcium deposit on the tile- we asked them several times to take care of this and they never did.
After discovering these items, I called to try and resolve the issue- I asked to speak with the owner, though never received a call back. Needless to say they lost our business.

Shane at Miller Pools is hands down one of the most honest, thoughtful and customer service oriented people I've ever dealt with. Everyone at Miller pools is responsive and knowledgeable. They are upfront and honest, which I can't underscore how important this is (especially because I know very little about pools). Anytime I've encountered an issue with my pool, I immediately call Shane, explain what the issues are and he immediately works to rectify the situation.
If you are looking seriously at hiring a pool company, look no further than Miller Pools. Rest assured when I say I have hired and fired several pool companies in Houston because of unethical business practices. You will not encounter that with Miller Pools - they have built their business on honesty, integrity and responsiveness. They are focused on the customer and are determined to make things right and leave you happy and satisfied.

Used Miller pools for several minor repairs over the years. I maintain my own pool and equipment when I can. Miller tech just left and I am very satisfied with his repairs and suggestions. He also answered several questions I had in regards to plaster and tile/coping repairs. Very honest folks. Highly recommend for repairs or maintenance.

I first moved here @ 2 years ago and had a local pool guy maintain the pool. Then I had that person perform pool maintenance upgrade and repairs to my filter and turbo cleaning system. What a disaster had to shut it down after I almost lost my water pump in the middle of the night due that persons inability to pay attention to details. Then we decided to upgrade the pool surface and tiles and I decided to bid this out.
We received seven bids, one thing I wanted was someone close to our home and not on the other side the earth. When it was all said and done Miller Pool was at first glance highest bidder, however when you look at what their bid it placed Miller in the middle of the pack for price. But what set them apart was I'm spending several thousands of dollars and their bid was inclusive of start up chemical included for start and 3 months of pool maintenance post startup.
We had a problem on the tile grout and Mr Miller was a class professional in its resolution and made amends to compensate us for the problems. I recently ended my pool service with them per the contract and woold recommend all to please reach out do yourself a favor and seek out Miller pools. Class organization, quality personnel and will be with you throughout the process and after.
Great job to Mike Miller and his staff. I'm glad to provide this review and the old saying still stands you get what you pay for and we got class and a professional project completed in a timely manner Rich B 7/18/2013
